‘Tested’ Host Adam Savage Visits Costume Makers of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

In two recent videos uploaded to the Tested YouTube channel, Adam Savage (best known for MythBusters) visits the workshop of FBFX, the costume studio responsible for designing the Darth Vader and clone trooper suits for the recent Star Wars live-action Disney Plus series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In the first video, Savage interviews FBFX director Grant Pearmain as well as principal 3D artist Nejad Khedarun and workshop supervisor Joe Knapper. Alongside the imposing villain, Savage and Pearmain discuss the construction of the iconic suit, from the fabric choices to the asymmetrical helmet paint. Later, Khedarun and Knapper reflect on joining digital and practical effects in an effort to create the battle-scarred Vader seen in episode 6 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The second video highlights workshop fabricator Alea Holland as she recounts creating the first-ever practical clone trooper suit seen in Star Wars. Holland, a stormtrooper cosplayer herself, discusses 3D modeling and the utilization of her cosplaying experience in the process of building the suit.

The Tested channel is a great visit for Star Wars fans. Savage, a former ILM model-maker and avid cosplayer, is often seen building replica props and fabricating all things sci-fi, so we recommend sticking around.
