Update! New ‘Ahsoka’ TV Spots Include Old Anakin Footage and New Dialogue
A new TV spot for Ahsoka has just dropped during ABC’s broadcast of Ms. Marvel, seemingly confirming the return of a fan-favorite close to the titular character. The latest TV spot for Ahsoka features new dialogue from Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker, along with a shot of the character from Obi-Wan Kenobi, and more. While the full context of the fresh Anakin dialogue is hidden behind footage from previous marketing material, it does seem to finally confirm the rumors that there will be some type of Clone Wars-era flashbacks in the show, taking us back, of course, to when Anakin was Ahsoka’s master. At the beginning of the spot, we get another tease of Baylan Skoll’s relationship with the famous Jedi, although the extent of their connection remains to be seen. Mind games from an antagonist seem just as likely an explanation for bringing him into the equation.
Hayden Christensen himself has long been reported to be a part of the show, but his presence hasn’t been acknowledged up to this point by anyone involved in the series (barring some sly comments by the ever-loose-lipped Rosario Dawson). In the days ahead before the show premieres, it wouldn’t be surprising if we do get an official look at Hayden’s next on-screen return to Star Wars.
This story is still developing as I don’t know if anyone expected the marketing to show off Anakin at this point before the series debut, but a higher-quality look at this new spot should be released on Star Wars‘ social media channels over the next few days. As a reminder, the first two episodes of Ahsoka will premiere on Disney Plus on August 23.
