‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Finale Trailer Recaps Story So Far

The latest trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 might not reveal any new footage, but it may provide a few hints to where our hero and his allies are going to be headed.

Spoilers for the season so far after this point.

The trailer serves as a recap of the show thus far, featuring a number of the key supporting roles rather prominently – Ahsoka Tano, Greef Karga, Cara Dune, Bo-Katan Kryze, Boba Fett, and Fennec Shand. Of those characters, Cara, Boba, and Fennec are working alongside the Mandalorian himself on a quest to retrieve the child from Moff Gideon, who according to the last episode is currently residing in an area of the galaxy far, far away near a planet where a certain massive cloning laboratory was located. Could it be that the Mandalorian enlists help from the likes of Ahsoka, Greef, and/or Bo-Katan before leading an attack on Moff Gideon and his Imperial Remnant? We won’t know for sure until Friday, but until then, let’s take a look at the trailer below:

In addition, I can’t help but think that this quote tweet might just be a hint that Rick Famuyiwa, who directed Chapters 2, 6, and 15, may be directing the season finale:

Just a hunch. With Lucasfilm’s level of secrecy, we’ve known about all of the directors involved with The Mandalorian so far, but we haven’t really seen a lot of episodes lined up with director names prior to release. It doesn’t seem like there’s a mystery eighth director, so someone has to do a repeat, and Rick Famuyiwa best fits the bill. (There were allegedly some rumors that he would be directing two episodes of the second season. We’ll see if that plays out.)

The Mandalorian is streaming exclusively on Disney Plus, and as we recently learned, multiple spin-offs are being developed.
