Some New Details On The Cast Of Star Wars: Han Solo.

Not that long ago, details came out from Making Star Wars about a few character names for the Han Solo movie. Now it appears as they’ve acquired a few more, along with what actors will be assigned to the minor roles.

MSW revealed the list of names here. It’s worth noting that the names may or may not be coded, but they are as follows:

  • Rebolt – Ian Kenny
  • Moloch – Harley Durst
  • Moloch’s Henchmen – Tien Hoang
  • Gremm (possibly a location)
  • Emlys Nest (possibly a location)
  • Val
  • Mother Proxima
  • Dryden Vos

“Rebolt” certainly sounds like it’s a code name. I previously – jokingly – stated that Ian Kenny’s character could be a young, pre-neural-takeover version of Lobot, but now I get the feeling that there might be more to it than that. Be sure to let me know what you think of these names – along with my crackpot theory – below!

Mother Proxima could be played by Emilia Clarke. And since Quinlan Vos is canon (ep1/ep3) could Dryden Vos be someone of his clan ?

Or Dryden Vos ís Quinlan Vos, using the old Obi-Wan/ Ben trick..

It would actually make sense considering that the Quinlan Vos page on Wookieepedia states: “Vos survived the Clone Wars, but details of his life after that point are sketchy. Around a decade before the Battle of Yavin, a young Han Solo encountered an old man matching Quinlan Vos’s description on Socorro.”

So perhaps you’re all onto something, especially since Socorro is Lando’s home planet?

It would be nice to see Vos back in canon. He was great in Dark Disciple (I would really recomend it if you havent read it, it explores the relationshipp between Vos and Ventress + is a great canon adaptaion of Vos falling to the darkside like in the Drak Horse comics).
Considering what he went through in that book + all that he lost, I think it would be a diservice to say he was simply killed in Order 66 a few monsth later.

However, I think its risky to bring a force sensitive indivudal into a Han Solo film, considering he doesn believe in the force in ANH.

me too…but alas..nothing yet. This movie is going to feel like it was made for tv. Hopefully Disnrey learns its lesson and realizes that they cant recast the main characters of the most beloved saga of all time no matter what age they try to make them after this.

It will still do well regardless. For every one fan who says they aren’t looking forward to it, I’d be willing to bet there are at least ten who will go see it.

What it will come down to more than just a hunch or a feeling is how well the movie is actually made. There is a lot of talent on this movie, and I firmly believe that it will end up being a sleeper hit and much better than many “fans” on here initially thought.

You would think they would capitalise more on May 4th when even non fans have the franchise on their minds.

Could Gremm be the hacker (“slicer” in the SW universe) character played by Justin Theroux?

Moloch sounds promising. A very fitting name for someone employing henchmen. It roughly translates to “juggernaut” or “voracious giant” in German: I really hope for some underworld crime lord using brute force to get his way 🙂

I hope we don’t get to see Lobot’s origin … Surely it’s a big enough galaxy to have new characters.

I think I’d rather see a younger version of “Bespin ice cream maker machine guy” in this movie.

In the new canon, they need to establish that he started a successful ice cream* franchise that’s popular in the sequel era.

          * — Or whatever they call ice cream in the SW universe… Iced Dream Cremes?

We have seen Lobots orgins in the Lando Calrisian comics (If by orgins you mean him completely embracing the computuer implants). Its quite compelling.

I would actually recomend the Lando Comic. Coming from someone who doesn really care for the character ( I dont hate him, he just doesnt appeal to me), the comic was really good. It had nice artwork +delved into Sith artifacts.

Lando was one of the comics I had the least faith in and ended up being the best of the miniseries they have done to date.

I agree, it was one of the most compelling series of the new canon Marvel comics that I’ve read yet.

I really only read it because it was canon and didnt really expect much. As I said I never really cared for the character, I like him in the film and rebels but never would have dived futher into his character than that, if say it were only “non-canon” material about him.
But It was a great series. The artwork is fantastic and the story was so unexpected. I thought it would be non-cosequental (jusy him dealing with a gangster in a deal go wrong or something ) but tying it to Sidious’s ship and Sith artifacts was a great addition to the Lore.

    Dryden Vos — “I have a brother who’s a Jedi”?
Mother Proxima — Sounds to me like this is a droid.
Val — Bartender at the cantina (you KNOW there will be a cantina).
Moloch / Moloch’s Henchmen — Han gets into a fight with them (in the cantina).
Emlys Nest — The name of the cantina!

And -1 if Lobot is in this movie, sorry Pomo. I always imagined that he “came with” Cloud City.
