That sketch of Luke with the Rebel Alliance [Resistance] symbol behind him makes him looked like a winged-angel or demon.

The trailer had some incredibly beautiful shots but nothing too overwheliming overall. Loved the shot with the small pebbles hovering in the air around Reys hand as well as the B-wings. So far I am really missing exotic planets, cities or creatures in the trailer. But then again it’s still only months into post production.

AT-AT’s, A & B wings confirmed. I’m all about new stuff, but it’s awesome to see those classic (if perhaps upgraded) designs.

I wouldn’t say the AT-AT is confirmed. Advanced walkers based on the same design? More likely.

      Too much? Too little!

If I’m going to be honest, I didn’t think that much of the trailer since a great deal of it was on Acht-To (sp?)Doesn’t really offer much at all. Preferred the Rogue One and TFA ones.

As for “Time for the Jedi to end”, this seems in line with what I (and probably others) said on here a while ago, namely the fact that in a lot of the official material lately, including Rebels, there has been much hinting at the grey area of The Force (Ezram The Bendu, etc). The space in between the dark side and the light. It has been speculated that this “grey area” will be explored in the sequel trilogy, and that seems to be coming true.

My prediction? Luke has fallen from the Jedi after seeing his pupils murdered, but not to the dark side, as that would just repeat Vader. His is The Last Jedi in this movie and he leaves the order – only for Rey to restore it in the final film and having Luke see the purpose of it again. They way this is done? Redeem or defeat Kylo. That’s my guess. Probably wrong.

    • April 14, 2017 at 7:31 pm
      Permalink

Yes, Luke has definitely embraced a grey philosophy of the force by the looks of it. That doesn’t mean though he will stay on that path towards the end of the movie or the end of the trilogy.

            No probs

I can see that. Maybe not the part where Rey convinces Luke to change his mind, but all the storytelling that hints at Force users that are not aligned with the Jedi or Sith makes sense.

But I’m with you on the trailer. I wasn’t crazy about it. I liked the Rogue One trailer. I thought the Prequel trailers were pretty darn good. The trailer for The Force Awakens was maybe one of the best I have ever seen. This was good, but not great. Granted, it’s only a teaser. I get that.

      • April 14, 2017 at 7:54 pm
        Permalink

Yup. I think it’s clear they’re holding a lot back, but I thought maybe they could’ve given us just a hint of something more for talking points and wow factor. I found most of it to be similar to what we’ve seen in TFA, Luke and Rey on the island. Leia in front of a console. Poe in his flight suit with BB8. Vader’s mask. Phasma. Troopers. Luke & R2 in the burning field. The only think that was really new was the ships and shot of Finn, and even then, another desert planet?

I know from the behind the scenes rumours and leaks that there is much more to the movie and I think it’s going to be great. But this as the first teaser just was a bit “meh” for me. Still, after feeling a bit underwhelmed by TFA after it’s great trailers I have a feeling this will be the reverse.

    • April 15, 2017 at 1:39 am
      Permalink

Hated TFA but I admit it did have a superior trailer and music for the trailer as well.

      • April 15, 2017 at 7:45 am
        Permalink

I will second that. The TFA trailers worked for me (despite not loving the resulting film), the Rogue One trailers (mostly) kicked my ass all over the place. This? This one leaves me pretty cold actually.

Just brilliant when starts. It seems the space, but there are rocks.

Remember, is the second time in a trailer we see stars and then Rey just after it.
Is Rey bringing balance to the galaxy?

Interesting what Daisy said about Rey getting along with Luke. It was something like “sometimes you meet your heroes and they are not what you expect them to be.”
I’ve had a theory like this for a while. What if Luke has lost most or all force powers? Simply incapable of fighting any dark-side foes. No longer considers himself a Jedi. No green lightsaber.
