I am opposed to X-XII but if they absolutely have to make it then I would hope they take the best ideas of the PT/OT then create something entirely original.
Thing is that the reason TPM and TFA were huge cash cows was due to the fact that NO ONE expected Episode I and Episode VII to ever get made, So there was a massive curiosity factor there adding to nostalgia from decades of speculation so I don’t think another trilogy will do as well if it’s announced in advance like this.
Plus the PT was basically the OT’s backstory and the ST’s it’s future, I think it will just feel like filler no matter how long they wait to do it.
I think if Disney can bring themselves to wait about 10-15 years after 9, it could be good. But I do kinda like the idea of a complete reboot.
Ugh, no reboots. The Star Wars canon is expansive enough that no reboots are necessary.
