Michael K. Williams Officially Joins the Cast of the Han Solo Spinoff Film!

Just a few days ago actor Michael Kenneth Williams was rumored to be in talks for a role in the upcoming second Star Wars stand-alone movie about the adventures of young Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca. Now the official Star Wars site made the news official. Read on for the details.

From StarWars.com:

StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that Williams has officially signed on for the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Williams comes to Star Wars having played many memorable roles in both TV and film, including Omar Little in The Wire and Albert “Chalky” White in Boardwalk Empire, bringing charisma, humanity, and nobility to all his performances.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing the untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, with a cast that includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Thandie Newton, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.

A few days ago, Justin Kroll from Variety mentioned that he heard, Williams will probably play a villain in the movie. Williams’ real life scar can only help him with the task. We’ll just have to wait and see if this is true.

He’s gotta be either Captain Typho’s son, Lando’s Uncle, or Finn’s grandmother’s baby daddy

    …or he’s Cad Bane.

That would be redundant — Mace Windu’s son and Finn’s grandmother’s baby daddy are one and the same. (Whoops — spoilers.) 😉

Or at least they know each other, right? Because they all know each other.

Williams playing the villain would be an interesting direction for this movie to go. I’d love to see him play a bounty hunter or a rival to Han.

What a cast they’ve assembled. Can’t wait to see what Lord and Miller do with them.

If Rogue One is any indication, they’re gonna murder them all.

        That would be quite impossible.

Jury’s still out on whether Ehrenreich is gonna murder Han Solo all over again.

(Hope Spielberg is right about this kid.)

shia has some acting chops, its just overshadowed by his severe case of the crazies.

This has to be the most star studded cast in the history of Star Wars no? What I hope is that I don’t instantly get taken out of the movie when I see Woody Harrelson, Michael K Williams, Emilia Clarke etc on screen. It’s a tough balancing act.

Did you notice they continue to make fun of Campea’s weird-ass water bottle routine in their latest review for Get Out & Logan? Love it.

Star Wars casting has shown lots of love towards HBO. You can almost predict who’ll be in the Boba Fett film:

John Turturo as a scavenger who rescues injured Boba near the Sarlacc Pitt
    Lena Heady as Aurra Sing
Anthony Hopkins as the Grand Zookeeper of the Rancor Hatchery
    James Gandolfini as Jabba’s corpse

The best will be in Episode IX when we find out that Snoke is actually a 10 ft. tall puppet controlled by Peter Dinklage.

Snoke is actually Maz Kanata’s diminutive ex-husband, Cruizlethom Kanata . He went nutz the night he caught Maz banging Chewbacca, and decided to take his revenge on the entire Skywalker-Solo family.

He has the right demeanor for Cad Bane. That is one character I’d really like to see in a live action movie. TCW is rife with awesome characters to bring to the screen.
