British Singer Gary Barlow Confirms Star Wars: The Last Jedi Cameo.

You probably remember this rumor from almost a year ago, when The Sun reported that the Take That singer filmed his secret cameo for The Last Jedi at Pinewood. Barlow is a huge Star Wars fan and the report suggested that he will play a stormtrooper in the Rian Johnson directed movie, in a similar fashion to what Daniel Craig did for The Force Awakens. Now it appears that Barlow himself has confirmed that the rumor is partially true.

Barlow confirmed the rumor while speaking with Lorraine‘s Ross King earlier this morning.(via Digital Spy)

He said:

“I’m not a stormtrooper, but I am in it.”

“Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role.”

It will be interesting to see if we will see his face at all, given that most of the cameos by more recognizable faces in TFA were hidden behind masks. There have been similar rumors about actor Tom Hardy and even Princes William and Harry (who were confirmed to have made a set visit last year during filming). Time will tell which of these faces will appear in TLJ, whether they be visible on screen or hidden easter eggs. Anyhow, it would seem that Barlow is definitely one of these cameos, so be on the lookout for his Star Wars-loving mug in the theater this December.

The PT kind of ruined things far as gratuitous celeb cameos go. I miss the days of the OT when they only had ones before they were famous and even then they really weren’t famous to begin with.

I hope his face is hidden, I don’t want stupid cameos pulling me out of the film when I watch it. Especially when it’s a pop singer/primetime-tv personality type.
Has me a bit worried. If he can get a part in the film, then who else did?
