While speaking about Star Wars he revealed that after he first refused to do Episode 7 Lucasfilm tried to convince other directors for the job but later came back to him again. Listen from 9:40 min.

J.J is a master at skirting the line regarding the prequels. Even though he hasn’t been able to say much I’ve loved everything he’s hinted at.
Really excited for this movie. It’s been a long time since I felt this way about Star Wars.
Well, if he was telling hoo hoo howard the truth that it took 1 1/2 years to make star trek. That probably puts ep. 7 Late 2015??
It was confirmed that Episode 7 will be released in summer 2015. 2 years and 3 months from now. 🙂
