See…That’s…Not a Thrawn move. I am actually disappointed with that.

you are looking more and more correct. they got thrawn’s look, his love of art and his speech right, but everything else feels off, especially this. thrawn doesn’t kill for the sake of it and he isn’t “evil”. this is more tarkin than anything.

Hey, at least he’s actually doing something instead of planning and letting the Rebels get away with everything. (Although it would be more in-character for Tarkin to do this.)

This is a cartoon villain. “SIT ON THE SPEEDER UNTIL IT EXPLODES” Tarkin wouldn’t do that either. I can’t think of a canon Imperial character that would.

The Empire was all about GIANT WEAPONS and ruthless efficiency. They would have had this fellow executed on the spot with a shot to the head long before they put him on something they knew would explode like that.

I didn’t think Thrawn would get this bad but I am saddened by the cheapening of his character.

Good to hear. I was worried hype for this was down. I mean I know nothing can live up to a 30 years in the making sequel to a phenomenon. I want this to be a success. I feel Disney will be happy with anything in the 600 to 700 million range to warrant more SW movies of this type.

They’ll have to get over it if that’s the case. They’ll still make money though.

especially with how much TFA made for them last year. but i suspect it will be a moot point.

I’ll be at the red carpet Rogue One event in Japan next week. Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, and Gareth Edwards will be the star guests. I’ll try to report if anything interesting is said. (I believe there will also be a fairly long movie presentation, but not the complete film.)
