Dave Filoni, who was recently promoted from the role of supervising director of the animated Star Wars: Rebels is beginning to link ‘Rebels’ even more with the Star Wars universe. The actor who played Wedge in the Original trilogy was asked to appear in The Force Awakens but he declined

Good thing he declined. The movie was starting to look like an old high school reunion the way it was.

Yeah. As much I wish Lando would appear in the sequels, I would also be fine if the only returning characters were Luke, Leia, and Chewie.

It actually yanks me out out the movie for a second when Ackbar and Nunb show up because there’s just no need for either of them to have been there. I’m sure the people making it wanted to show that some of the old veterans of the Rebellion were still fighting the good fight but it was really just jarring. After many times watching it now it doesn’t work. And for that reason I’m glad that Denis Lawson said hell no to returning.

He also advised his nephew not to take Star Wars because it would ruin his career, and be a miserable, creatively bankrupt experience. Sounds like a fun guy.

I don’t know, I don’t think appearing in those movies really damaged anyone’s career – McGregor just doesn’t seem to have done much to chase blockbusters after Star Wars – bunch of smaller films, if I recall correctly, he and Lawson started a…I want to say production company, but it might have been a theater.

i was mostly referring to the “miserable, creatively bankrupt experience” part, but funny enough natalie portman thinks the prequels stunted her career for a while. though i personally think it that was more her being incredibly difficult to work with.

He didn’t just fly along with Luke” the first Death Star attack, he was the co founder of Rogue Squadron with Luke, and later the leader of it. Then led the Red squadron attack on the second death star helping blow up the main reactor.

Really looking forward to seeing wedge’s origins in this episode before he became a rebel pilot in taking down the death star in ANH. ^_^

Sabine looks so much better without these ridiculously dyed hair.

I’m sure the crazy purple white hair will be back in the episode that follows this one.

Sabine’s eyes are starting to look huge compared to Wedges! Will have to go back and see if they’ve always been that goldfish big.

    1) I thought at first it was a flashback
    2) I love this look of sabine instead of the various other ones

He’s probably Luke’s age or slightly older
