Star Wars: Rogue One – Toy Packaging Details.

We might be running into a handful of slow days now that filming for Star Wars Episode VIII is underway and the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story most likely won’t be arriving for several weeks. However, a friend of ours (Justin LaSalata) has shared a tidbit of information with us about what the packaging for Rogue One looks like – and it strongly indicates that a major Original Trilogy character will return.

So from the sounds of things, we’ll be seeing Darth Vader on the silver screen once again. Whoever this caped character is, it’s likely that he’ll be allied with Vader based on their close placement on the packaging. Hopefully, we’ll get to see and hear more about Rogue One in the coming weeks.

if it was Thrawn I’m pretty sure the description would say the character has a blue face

Yularen wore a white Imp tunic in ANH. maybe a new character that also does plus a stylish cape.

Rip off human Thrawn played by Ben Mendelsohn perhaps.

Could be a Stormtrooper of some kind. Afterall, Snowtroopers had little ‘capes’.

The figure in the white uniform with the cape is probably Ben Mendelsohn’s character. Another rumor stated that his character looked like Thrawn without the blue skin, this could explain why. One logical conclusion is that he is another Grand Admiral character. Thrawn is unlikely seeing as how they wouldn’t bother bringing him in without his signature blue skin and red eyes.

I think it definitely is Mendelsohn’s character. I keep thinking, it could be possible that he could be playing, if it’s not an entirely new character, it may be Lord Tion, who was a nobleman, and a character who surfaced in the Star Wars Radio Drama: A New Hope from 1981. He was an incredibly ambitious, sadistic General for Grand Moff Tarkin, and was one of the few individuals who was aware of The Death Star, and where the plans were to be transferred and stored (within The Imperial Vaults). He was responsible for murdering a group of captured rebel fighters and much of the political house of a particular planet, by locking them in a state office building, and setting it on fire, He was rather ruthless, and also had designs to marry Princess Leia, to bring the Houses of Tion and Organa in to a more profitable, powerful, and protected fold of the Galactic Empire. Either way, it would be COOL if some of the aspects of Tion were invested into this mystery character.

I vote for Del Toro as Thrawn, or, perhaps, Ezra.

Not saying Vader won’t be in the movie, but they’ve been using Vader on packaging for everything over the years.

Yeah but this is specifically for a film, they wouldn’t false advertise. (Ignore the irony)

Hoping not an Inquisitor. Even if they kill them at the end, It would be confusing for some why they are around in this one but not the OT.

Ben Mendelson’s character has been reported as being all in white with a long cape, so it must be him that’s being described.
