Not that the Leia/Rey moment is a big surprise being that we know Rey is looking for family and it’s been heavily rumored that she is a Solo or Skywalker offspring but I’m feeling it’s time for me to go dark and not look at this stuff until I see the movie

Rey is Kilo´s sister, and both are children of the Solos. They were separated just as Luke and Leia right after birth.

That’s my guess, that separation, probably forced (Kylo) and accidental (Rey) is why Han and Leia are not together at this point, it either tore them apart thinking their children where dead or Han has never stopped looking…

Seriously, i think i have to stop watching this site and internet during 11 days.
I never have seen so much of a movie until its realase. 😛
Why the big secrecy during the film if they show a clip or trailers or news every couple of days…? Marketing wins.
Yeah its my decision, i think i have to stop right now. I’m wondering how many hours will last my disconnection 😉

    • December 7, 2015 at 4:56 pm
      Permalink

No major plot points have been revealed, though. I think they’re doing an excellent job of showing the movie without telling you what it’s all about.

      • December 7, 2015 at 5:02 pm
        Permalink

Yeah yeah. Absolutely agree. 😉 I suppouse that’s why i’m keepin watching those videos. A really good job. Majority of movie trailers explains so much.
I have to tell you that i have not read lots of articles explaining some important aspects of the movie, i think 😉

      • December 7, 2015 at 5:07 pm
        Permalink

Agreed. Also everything they show (even though they keep adding 1 or 2 very short new flashes here and there) has been from the same handful of scenes. I believe they are being very coy in what they are showing even though it feels like a lot these past couple of weeks.

Just watching so much videos we can connect big aspects of the movie, with a simple word, a simple shot, we can figure it out so many things. How many trailers and featturetes we have seen? 10? 15? that’s insane 😛
One important thing, in my opinion, is not reading so much.

Total up the actual footage time wise. What are you really seeing about 4 total minutes of 2 hour plus movie. We are not getting major plot spoilers. We still haven’t seen two of the major characters. We don’t really know the plot we can guess but its not like Batman vs Superman where the whole I mean the absolute whole plot has been given away.

    • December 7, 2015 at 5:46 pm
      Permalink

It’s no where near Amazing Spider-Man 2 or Age of Ultron or even Justice League 0.5 (now that I’ve seen that trailer, I refuse to call it ‘Batman v. Superman’).

And most of what we’ve seen I think just reflects how amazing Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are going to be in this film. If anything, it gives me a sense of calm moving forward with them as leads (and a sense of dread too, even better!).

You’ll be back, I’ve said the same thing a bunch of times, lol. Agree with Robb as well. No major plot points have been revealed. They perfectly trickle in the right amount of carrot on a stick for sure.

I’m hoping they might release a Christmas special for Episode 7 where we’ll get to hear the story of the movie as it’s read to Chewbacca’s son in the form of a crudely animated tale. It’s also been too long since we heard Leia singing.

Talk about a reversal of roles for Han & Chewie. haha

    • December 7, 2015 at 6:06 pm
      Permalink

I have a theory that, at the battle of Jakku, the Falcon had been taken aboard that Super Star Destroyer that crashed…and Chewie and Han escaped on somme other Imperial transport or whatever, before the Star Destroyer crashed, and they just assumed the Falcon was lost when the Star Destroyer crashed. Meanwhile, Rey finds it in there, kinda banged up, and over all those years, keeps it hidden and works on getting it fixed up, and when their escape ship is blown up (like we see in the previews), they are forced to pray that Rey has the old bucket-of-bolts in flying condition, to escape Jakku.

That’s the most plausible explanation I’ve heard.

      • December 7, 2015 at 6:54 pm
        Permalink

Good idea. Isn’t the economy of Jakku mostly based on selling junk parts found in the wreckage? If so, then yes, this is a great explanation.

      • December 8, 2015 at 5:41 pm
        Permalink

Really interesting theory. But if the Falcon went down with it, there would be very little left of it. Pretty sure the Falcon has a new owner, and our heroes get into a fight with him over it. Whether that’s the Simon Pegg character or not.

      • December 8, 2015 at 6:35 pm
        Permalink

Was the Falcon at the Battle of Jakku? I haven’t read “Aftermath”…

Putting this aside, this is an excellent explanation. I don’t buy that Han would have intentionally let the Falcon go (as in speculations that he loses it in a bet, or pawns it off to settle a debt). That would be appropriate for pre-ANH Han, not for post-ROTJ Han.

Your theory, on the other hand, has it that he leaves it behind because he thinks it’s been destroyed. A scenario like this is the only one that seems to fit with his character.

Of course, the man may have changed a lot in 30+ years, in which case all bets are off…

PSA: For those of you that keep commenting on here that you’re going to stop following TFA news like this till you go watch it: do us all a favor and stop coming on here then. No need to announce to the whole world that you’re “bowing out”. For those of you worried that we have seen “too much”, here are just ten of the many critical plot points we have little to no information on:
1.) How did Han loose the falcon?
2.) Are Han & Leia still together
3.) Who is / is not force sensative
4.) Who is Maz and why does she know so much about the force?
5.) Who is Snoke and how is he so “strong” in the darkside?
6.) Who are the knights of Ren and how did they form and why?
7.) Are Rey & Kylo Cousins, siblings or something else?
8.) Where the heck did Luke go and why?
9.) Did luke ever get married or restore the jedi order?
10.) Will this movie be any good?

I can think of many others, but the reason that the force awakens marketing is so good is that of course they have to show several minutes of footage to get average moviegoers into the theater, but they show six minutes of cool moments, but cut out all the scenes that give us context as to what is happening so we are hyped but left guessing. Avengers & Batman v. Superman show cool moments but leave them exactly in context, so even though we have only seen 4 or 5 minutes of a 2 hour movie we have a precise outline rather than a vague sketch. This is marketing done flawlessly.

    • December 7, 2015 at 7:02 pm
      Permalink

All those points are the reasons/proofs why the story of this movie is not going to be OK. Everything seems to me too much forced to make concepts mingle.

      • December 7, 2015 at 7:34 pm
        Permalink

It’s also good to keep in mind that perhaps all the answers to these questions may not be given to us in TFA and will have to wait till 8 and/or 9 to find out more. If that is the case, then perhaps it won’t all feel as force after all since it won’t all be given to us in 2 hours and 16 minutes.

    • December 7, 2015 at 9:01 pm
      Permalink

      Just speculation:

      1) Repossessed to pay a debt.
      2) No.
      3) Rey, Kylo and Finn, as the final trailer implies.
      4) She worked for the Jedi Council during the Prequel era.
      5) Won’t be answered in TFA, but he’ll be revealed.
      6) Won’t be answered in TFA, but they’ll be revealed.*
      7) Cousins, it’s now looking like.
      8) Won’t be answered in TFA.
      9) Won’t be answered in TFA.
      10) Yes.

      * — If you ever watched LOST (produced and co-created by JJ Abrams), the Knights of Ren are already reminding me of The Others. More about them will be revealed in Episode 8 and 9. I am already predicting that the young female character in Episode 8, that they are currently casting for, will be revealed to be a member of the Knights. She will be deployed to try to win Finn over to their cause.

They’ve done an amazing job, compared to the AOTC & ROTS, when I knew the entire movie heading into it. To me, the biggest question I want answered in the film is: Who are Rey & Kylo’s parents?

It’s pretty cool that even if you read every single leak/spoiler about the film, as I have, you STILL don’t know the answers to these questions. I love that. I don’t have the will power to avoid reading every bit of info that comes out, I’m too excited, but even so, there is still so much that I don’t know that I will have plenty of surprises/reveals left when I see the film. They’ve done a great job of keeping a lid on the BIG secrets.

I’ll answer all of you questions. Spoilers.
      1. The same way Lando lost it to Han.
      2. Yes.
      3. Rey, Kylo, and Snoke are, Poe and Finn aren’t. Finn only knows how to wield the lightsaber because of standard stormtrooper training.
      4. Mace Windu survived and is Maz Canta. Maz Canta is only a codename.
      5. Maul survived the clone wars and has grown stronger. He is Snoke.
      6. Snoke and Kylo are the only force sensitive people in the knights of Ren. The rest are just people like Phasma and Boba Fett.
      7. Rey is Leia’s daughter. Kylo Ren is Luke’s son.
      8. Luke was only scene in a flashback and a set picture with white Robes because he is a force ghost. He died between 6 and 7.
      9. Yes. Kylo is his son, and the knights of ten is an order designed to balance the dark and lighted, but was “seduced by the dark side of the force” like Vader.
      10. Yes.

That’s interesting. One of the few times we see Rey without her staff. It looks likely she leaves it in the Falcon before they venture inside Maz’s castle. Why is that? Why does she all of a sudden distance herself from it. If she had kept the staff in her possession it would have been captured along with her by Kylo Ren and The First Order.

Then we have the shot of Rey with the staff in the usual position of being slung on her back as she bids farewell to Leia before getting back into the Falcon after the final assault on Star Killer Base.

My conclusion is that staff is a hell of a lot more than a simple staff.

An image has just surfaced of Snoke. If it’s genuine, I think we can assume he’s Plagueis.

Plagueis is canon, because he was mentioned by Chancellor Palpatine in Episode III. Just remember, this is they guy who learned to cheat death. Do you really think he would die that easily?

He’s cannon, as his name was referenced in ROTS. I’ve been sitting on the fence regarding the whole Plagueis thing, but it’s now looking more and more likely he’s Snoke.

Snoke is the worst name ever. There is no freaking way that’s the character’s name. Supreme Leader of Evil Snookums.

I’m neutral on the importance of the staff, but obviously if it *were* important, she’s not going to let that information slip.

What if Rey was born of Leia without a father ? Like Anakin for example. I don’t think it’s probable, but it would be interesting.,

And it’s all the problem, what kind of shitty parent will dump their 5 years old child in the middle of nowhere!!! And give no news for 15 years, assuming Rey in is early 20. They have to have something very strong in their sleeve to make it work. I know that Rey been a Solo or a Skywalker seem obvious. But, thinking about the she’s Luke daughter for a second, the only way she cannot know anything about force, if she never know is father, because at five years old, if you know your dad, you know who he is and what he do for a living, so it is logical she will know about the force. And Luke, get a woman pregnant and dump her, do not feel really Jedi… It’s the same about Han-Leia, at 5, she know them and know what they look like, so if Han is his father, I hope for him he have good story for her to explain why they left her all this time in the middle of nowhere. So, if she is a Solo, they have to set up this really early in the movie, because it will feel really stupid that she not recognize is dad at first sight. And try to keep secret something that everybody seems to expect, in hope of a big:”I am your father” revelation, really stupid…

If Leia was afraid of Snoke detecting Rey then she would give her up. Even if she Awakened, in a desert desolate planet like Jakku, even Snoke would have trouble sensing her. Makes sense that way.

Could be, that will mean that Snoke is a treat since 20 years, maybe. But in other and, if the brother of your sister, is the last of the Jedi, so probably in a way, one of, if not the most, powerful living thing in the Galaxy, that you have confidence that security of your family will be in good hand. Or that Luke disappear a long time ago. But, it will not explain is ignorance of the Force, the Jedi, etc. At 5 years old, your able to understand a lot of thing, so if they hide her for her safety, they will probably explain why to her, you don’t dump your 5 years old child without explanation. In a Rolling Stone article, mentioning seeing 20 minutes of the movie, Rey said to Finn, we could use this piece of junk, pointing the Falcon. If Han is her daddy, she will recognize the Falcon, my nephew at 2 years old was able to recognize my car, even if he have only see it a couple of time. So Han lost the Falcon before the birth of his daughter, or maybe is not is father, and Leia had an other husband. Funny how, even with a lot leak, spoiler, info and fan speculation, they seem to have so much thing we don’t really know 🙂

English is not my mother language, so I admit that sometimes what a writing could be confusing. What I was trying to point out, is that, for me, their is no reason to create mystery around Skywalker lineage, because everybody expecting that Rey or Kylo are Solo/Skywalker. The bound between Luke and Vader, was a shock, no one saw it coming. I’m just hoping they have chose a different approach, that they don’t waste time to create a mystery about it.

You are absolutely correct. It is important to note that in the Star Wars universe the “English accent” is actually an accent from Coruscant, if my memory serves me right.
