Two New Images with General Leia and Rey from The Force Awakens!

Star_Wars_The_Force_AwakensThe 2 images show the characters with costumes that we haven’t seen before. These images are screenshots from a new BTS video posted on Disney channel.

Special thanks to Le Jedi Lorain for the heads up:

It looks like Leia is dressed for some kind of a celebration scene (same costume and hair style as seen on the poster), similar to the ones at the end of A New Hope and The Phantom Menace. On the other hand Rey looks like she is ready for a journey, finally putting some cloths on. Poor girl was almost naked in the snow during the Starkiller lightsaber fight sequence.  Or maybe both images are from the same wave bye bye scene at the end of the movie? What do you think?

We will update this article when the video hits.

Ah…haaaa! This must be the infamous “Baboon’s butt” hairdo that Carrie Fisher recently referred to, while on the talk show circuit.

      Indeed, it’s on the poster

Leia may be dressed for a star wars style funeral. I’m thinking “blackout days” by Phantograhm. Perhaps sooner than planned.

Last I checked, you don’t smile / have a happy-looking expression at funerals.

They did a great job with the casting. Daisy Ridley literally looks like a hybrid of Carrie and Harrison’s face – and Adam Driver definitely shares a lot of Harrison’s features, particularly the nose, profile, height etc.

Why would she be a hybrid of Carrie and Harrison’s face if she is Luke’s daughter? 🙂

      Not really.
Rey looks like her grandmother Padme.
And she is a Luke’s daughter.

Maybe Leia has a new man to impress. Rey’s getting dressed up for her long journey to Ireland.

That kinda looks like Captain Phasma behind General Leia!
I like how her hair is similar to her first apperance but a little different to shoe homage yet show that it’s a new generation too!

I really love the look of these costumes in the film. A lot of times in sci-fi/fantasy films the costumes can really age the film, but the costumes in Star Wars always seem so timeless. In fact one of my most anticipated things about Episode VIII is just to see what some of the new outfits are for the main cast. It’s a small thing, but interesting to me nonetheless.

The Force Awakens’ Costume Designer is Michael Kaplan, who was also costume designer on Blade Runner.

Rick Carter is Production Designer on The Force Awakens, NOT costumes. He didn’t work on Blade Runner.

Rey’s clothes look like Luke’s dagobah fatigues. She was wearing white rags like Luke’s in a new hope now grey jacket like Luke maybe for the next movie and then all black like luke for the last. That would be cool

Could be a funeral, alla Star Trek 2, ending with upbeats because they got Luke back and are a family again. Or they are preparing to rescue Han, frozen in carbonite again, from Phasma.

Odds on Han’s last words to Rey:
3:1 May the force be with you
4:1 I will be with you, always
3:1 Tell Chewie I love him
    1:1 Other
