Everyone thinks that because of the reflections on the screen, if we have a higher quality screencap, you’ll see how wrong that assumption is.

That’s very possible and I definitely want to see a better clip. And of course it doesn’t fit with what (we think) we know. However, I still think it sounds like a woman.

It reminds me of Indy 4 the “Part Time” line was different in the trailer then it was in the movie itself. I guess that take better fit the movie where as the other take worked better for the trailer.

Except in this alleged ‘Indy 4’ movie, the take in the trailer was better than the one in the movie.

Full disclosure i never would have noticed if it had not been for Mr. Plinkett. But i will say that for this movie the trailer “we’re Home” come off more serious then the one from the clip even out of context.

Tons of movie have alternate takes in trailers vs the final film. Could be that the teaser scene was specifically for it, but we will have to wait and see what they use. I remember that a scene with the joker saying “A little fight in you. I like that” was different in the trailer than the actual film.

Possibly! With how Harrison raises his eyebrows, I’d like to think that they went with the 2nd trailer ver. as the brow raising kinda evokes… “Too much” or some sort of… Non-Han-ness; Happy-go-lucky nature (Wow… Def. couldn’t think of a better way to describe…)

    • November 13, 2015 at 10:11 pm
      Permalink

Yeah, feels odd versus the trailer version. Like an outtake the way he raises his eyebrows. Kind of loses all the gravitas and emotion, but maybe/probably the scene is some sort of escape so there’s no time to stop and have a moment lol.

It’s pretty common for trailers to feature alternate takes and even what eventually end up as deleted scenes from the film.

Well, that pretty much confirms Rey has never flown the Falcon before. It will literally be a coincidence that she steals Han’s old ship, which is probably owned by Tasu Leech.

Lots of questions about how this scene unfolds – One big question I still have is “Why is the Falcon on Jakku?” And also, how do Rey and Finn have time to run into it, while being chased by the TIE Fighter, fire it up, and take off for this big chase scene we’ve seen in the trailers? Wouldn’t the TIEs just blow-up the Falcon, if they saw them get into it?

      • November 13, 2015 at 9:48 pm
        Permalink

Perhaps they run into Han Solo first, maybe Han says I can get you out of here but we have to get my ship back first.

        • November 13, 2015 at 9:53 pm
          Permalink

I’m thinking the same thing too – Han’s already on Jakku but has lost owner ship of the falcon for some amount of time (that has yet to be indicated). Just timing of everyone being at the “right place, right time” works out.

        • November 13, 2015 at 10:28 pm
          Permalink

But you see Rey flying the Falcon by herself, whilst Finn is manning the cannon. Han and Chewie don’t appear until the start of Act 2. This is the end of Act 1.

          • November 13, 2015 at 10:40 pm
            Permalink

If Han is already at the Resistance base, why would Chewie have his crossbow in hand boarding the Millennium Falcon (“we’re home” scene). Perhaps they rescue Han & Chewie when they obtain the MF he tells them in the process they need someone to fly it and gets rescued.

          • November 13, 2015 at 10:50 pm
            Permalink

But Han and Chewie are not introduced until the beginning of Act 2. Act 1 ends with Rey, Finn, and BB-8 being chased in the Falcon, flying through the Super Star Destroyer, out the other side and losing the fighters behind. Then jetting up into space. Shortly after they then run into Han and Chewie.

All the OT movie’s Act 1 ends with the good guys in a spaceship leaving a planet:
            ANH: The Falcon leaving Tatooine
ESB: The Falcon and Luke’s X-Wing leaving Hoth
ROTJ: The Falcon and Luke’s X-Wing leaving Tatooine

Han and Chewie are not at the Resistance base. Han is estranged from Leia and has not seen her for sometime.

          • November 13, 2015 at 11:02 pm
            Permalink

So upon escape the first thing that happens is the Millennium Falcon auto pilots to rescue Han which they probably have no idea where he is or why they should find him? To me this makes no sense at all. Why would they go on a mission to rescue Han? Han brings them to the resistance base from Jakku. It really makes sense Han’s fate was the same as the Millennium Falcon. He likely blacked out from the crash and was taken captive by those who found it. Rey doesn’t know who her family is or where to find them. She is waiting for them. Finn wouldn’t be like some guy named Han Solo flew this ship maybe he can help?

          • November 13, 2015 at 11:08 pm
            Permalink

No autopilot. No mission to rescue Han. The Falcon is swallowed by a giant space craft shortly after leaving Jakku (Act 2). Finn and Rey are ordered off the Falcon, waiting at the bottom of the rank is Han and Chewie. That’s all I know.

          • November 13, 2015 at 11:13 pm
            Permalink

So Han this whole time was hanging out in orbit in a very large spaceship that swallows the Falcon as soon as they leave Jakku? That’s some imagination. I’m not saying your wrong, it just doesn’t make sense.

I didn’t write the movie. I just know that’s what happens. The missing detail will hopefully be in the movie.

          • November 13, 2015 at 11:25 pm
            Permalink

I just don’t think they would leave Jakku without a reason. Perhaps they fly to the Resistance Base and they are swallowed before landing. Han’s like who the F is flying the Falcon goes in with Chewie and his crossbow. It’s a bit of a stretch for me. Han telling Rey/Finn about the force right after Finn and Rey greet themselves. Clearly everything happens fast when they leave Jakku. We see tie fighters chasing Rey and Finn, this is when they meet, not enough time to exchange names. Somehow obtain the Falcon pretty fast still not exchanging names until after they not only aboard the ship, but even have time to chill and bs. I doubt they make it to Hyperspeed without Han as well. The only person that can navigate the Falcon in those Jakku scenes is Han in my opinion. Not having any knowledge of flying Rey sure handles it like a pro. Force skills or not, I don’t buy it.

          • November 13, 2015 at 11:38 pm
            Permalink

They are forced to leave Jakku because the First Order have been ordered to find BB-8. You can guess why they’re after BB-8. Han doesn’t tell them about the Force until later in Act 2, after an element of trust has been built between them, and after BB-8 reveals what he is carrying. Feel free to continue believing that’s Han flying the Falcon on Jakku.

The fact the Falcon just happens to be on the same planet as Rey bugs me as well. It must be located in a hanger so the Tie fighters can’t see it from above, the shot of Finn climbing up the steps into the back of something probably takes place before they settle on running into the Falcon.

This pic appears to show Rey & Finn running toward the Falcon’s ramp, which seems to be sitting out in broad daylight in the middle of the desert… Just weird that they get in, it’s empty, and they take it on this grand chase, just the two of them… Then after escaping, end up getting swallowed up by a larger freighter ship, and lo and behold, it’s Han & Chewie, whom haven’t been aboard the Falcon in some time? There’s got to be more to it!

          • November 14, 2015 at 3:09 pm
            Permalink

Is that the Falcon’s ramp? Agree it looks very much like it, but you would’t be able to see Rey and Finn from that angle without them being obscured by the ramp itself. I’m sure I read somewhere that The Falcon is not their first choice, they choose a fancier ship to get in, but ultimately settle on choosing the Falcon as it meets their specs.

Agree, there must be more to the details, which will be flushed out in the movie.

Thats the biggest question mark of the film for me so far. What in the world is the falcon doing on jakku? Han’s “we’re home” moment tells me he hasn’t been on the ship for some time. Did he loose it a sabbac game? Did it crash on Jakku? I can’t see a senario where han relinquishes his ship while she is still in working order. And is it a coincidence that Rey picks this vessel to blast off in? So many questions….can’t wait…just one month until we can finally get the answers

That “Chewy, we’re home” take differs from the 2nd trailer in which Solo, while speaking the words, stands still (with a little nod at the end), while in this new one he walks to the left (our left). I wonder which take will be in the movie. Which would be more Solo-esque?

I think this one is better, the other one was probably done for the tease and it felt like a full stop. This one I can see flowing into what follows better.(at this point since I don’t know what happens next)

This version seems to be for the movie, they walk in with weapons drawn, but are under some pressure (maybe being chased) in this version, after they see that they’re home, they immediately run to their seats and fly away.

“Punch it” in Star Trek 2009, straight out of Star Wars.
Also, R2-D2 can be seen in one shot floating in space.

Seems like the Brits got a slightly different version with clips that here on the other side of the pond, didn’t get (such as the “alternate” version of Han saying ‘Chewie… We’re home!'”)

A few things stand out to me. One, that new clip of Han saying “were home” is way more Solo-like than the first version we got. Secondly…I don’t understand the need to hide snoke unless one thing would be for sure: the second we see him we’ll know it’s plagueis.

Exactly!!! We have seen all the new characters except for Snoke. I believe the reason for this is because it would ruin the plot before we even see the movie!

Exactly man, why hide a character we all would otherwise know nothing about?? It’s because as soon as we would see him…we’d know.

It bothers me people put “HD” in their videos because it sounds nicer, when it’s not only a low frame-rate, but interlaced scaling. Seriously.

Crazy theory after hearing bb8 described as mysterious: R2d2 was disassembled and resurrected as bb8, or maybe the whole droid pops right out of R2s dome top. At some point bb8 will be reunited with the trash can body. It will be an emotional scene I’m sure
