John Boyega Talks Lightsabers with Empire!

BoyegaAs expected Empire continues to share stories from their upcoming special issue dedicated to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, due to release on November 26th. This time Empire chat with John Boyega about lightsabers…

From Empire:

“Man, the lightsaber came in this case,” Boyega told Empire. “The guys brought it out and I’m like, ‘Now’s the moment, now’s the time.’”

“I held it in my hand and I just felt, you know, the clouds open up and the white doves come flying down. It feels very, very good. I hugged it for the whole day. I didn’t allow anyone to hold it but me.”

Did he get to keep it? “No, but we’re working on that…”

Obviously this piece is only a tease about Empire’s upcoming issue, since it revealed absolutely nothing about Finn and/or lightsabers (unlike their previous piece about Snoke). We hope there will be more in the actual issue.

I love the fact that Anakin’s Lightsaber has become excalibar.

Though I’d like to know how someone found it and knew who it belonged to

Its not really that much of a secret. JJ & crew have mentioned it in interviews that the saber from the trailer was luke’s and all the prop displays refer to it as “The lightsaber built by Anakin skywalker”. I understand if you don’t want to know anything about the film, but if you consider that a spoiler then you may wish to avoid this comment section in the coming weeks since we are so close to the film it is going to be littered with spoilers
