PREVIEW Star Wars: Shattered Empire #1

ShatteredEmpireHappy Thursday, everyone!  It’s getting close to Force Friday and the good folks over at ComicBook.com shared their exclusive look at the upcoming Star Wars:  Shattered Empire.

This first issue opens the series in the midst of the Battle of Endor.  It’s only a couple of pages, but I have to say, this issue looks FANTASTIC!  Make sure to get all your Force Friday reading done over the weekend so you can devote all your attention to this on Wednesday, September 9th.

What about this looks like crap? The preview is literally just jedi from another angle. Was jedi crap? Why must everyone on this site complain about everything?

Luke evacuated after the SSD Executor crashed into the Death Star. Unless that’s a second one that we didn’t see. THIS IS CLEARLY GOING TO BE AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t really understand your comment. Where does it refer to a “second one we didn’t see”? And, by “didn’t see”, I would think they meant that the entire battle wasn’t covered in the film, just clips. However, again, I didn’t see this reference.

Now, since there are 1000 Anonymous’ on this site, I’m not really sure who you are. If you’re the Anonymous that constantly goes on about Millennials and the PT then I don’t really need a reply. I understand.

There was a lot in that battle that got skipped, uh, because we’ve seen it before. I don’t think that means its going to be awful.

Looks gorgeous. I wish Rebels could be the animated version of this. More mature, too. None of that “buckethead” or spray painting the Empire nonsense.

I wish Star Wars could recruit a team of talented and dedicated fans to do a straight-to-BluRay/DVD space battle feature like that. Anime-style or something.

I think it would have a lot of impact and be pretty unique if, in one of these films, they had a heroic female pilot get suddenly blown up in battle like Biggs or Dak. It would be less Disney and more deeply feminist because death is sometimes part of being a hero.

Feminist would be if the female shot down all the enemies herself. What you’re describing is equality.

        “What you’re describing is equality.”

        That’s what feminism is, imbecile.

There’s plenty of feminists who would say that killing her would make her a “refrigerator woman”.

Obsession over crap like that (rather, how Tumblr feminists will bully you if *anything* bad happens over a female character) is why I regrettably can’t call myself a feminist.

Don’t get me wrong. I am an absolute proponent of equal rights and equal treatment for women, people of different races, and so on. But I really dislike what the feminist movement seems to be degenerating into.

The focus seems to have gone from an “All Animals Are Equal” principle to an “All Animals Are Equal, But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others” principle.

Why isn’t this site reporting on the speaking Kylo Ren and Finn toys like over at MSW? That is big news, at least to me. What they say confirms a lot about plot and character motive.

I wish it was SW7N first. I’d rather come here than MSW, but if MSW continues posting “important” stuff like that, then I’ll have to start checking their site more often.

I thought the EU was way too fan-fictiony at times.

Yeah, all those authors were obviously writing fan fiction and got paid by Lucasfilm for that. They were so lucky!

Once canon is filled, it will be rebooted. It will happen in 20 years or so.

This looks pretty solid – though I’m not big on comics so don’t look to me for a reliable appraisal. Just saying, I would read this.

I like how Luke plays into this, I never really thought of how he approached the rebels while driving a tango ship – but it’s a good scene worthy of the movies.

And I didn’t even notice any mix-racing, maybe a little but I don’t care – it literally made no impression on me – I was busy, um, READING the STORY. I’m thinking some people WANT to be pissed off and are splitting hairs… chill.

No, just a one time event, though they may very well have similar events for future episodes, but they have said nothing to indicated future “force Fridays”
