Star Wars Rebels: The Lost Commanders Preview – Season 2 Airdate Confirmed.

Star-Wars-Rebels-LogoA brand new clip for “The Lost Commanders”, an episode from Season Two of Star Wars Rebels, has just made its way online. The official Star Wars website has also discussed what to expect in the coming episodes, along with the show’s airdate.

Showrunner Dave Filoni has previously mentioned that Kanan will be apprehensive around the Clone Troopers due to memories of Order 66, even though the three Clone Troopers he will meet are all free of the brainwashing protocol present in the Clone Troopers that carried out the Jedi genocide. This should explain why Ahsoka repeatedly tells Kanan to trust her old allies.

In case you missed it (or if you’re in need of a refresher), the previous clip revealed for this episode can be viewed below.

But that’s not all. The official Star Wars website briefly discussed Season Two as a whole.

In Star Wars Rebels Season Two, past lives will be revealed and the destiny of our heroes will be changed forever. The transformative new season resumes with Imperial oppression on Lothal growing stronger and the Rebels seeking out new allies and additional resources to sustain their fight against the evil Empire. With the help of Ahsoka Tano, the crew of the Ghost enlists some old friends: ex-clone troopers who fought in the Clone Wars. As the Rebels grow in number, so do their enemies. New Inquisitors are dispatched by Darth Vader and sent to crush any threat of rebellion. Through dangerous rescue missions, thrilling space chases, and spectacular lightsaber duels — the bond of our Rebel crew will be put to the test like never before.

Rebels officially returns on Wednesday, October 14. The first two episodes of Season Two will be screened privately a few days in advance at the New York Comic Con.

while i grew to like and sometimes love rebels (especially last 4 episodes of season 1 and first season 2 episode) these clone troopers don’t seem to fit somehow, voice acting is off, the way they act is off. I know its a children’s thing and I accepted the look of the rebels (don’t like it but ok, the story makes up and the backgrounds as well). but this mad max ride they are in and all. feels weird or something #nottryingtobethatguy

They are tying into the clone wars series, if you didnt know. In that series, the clones could become quite distinctive and gain alot of personality. Especially deserters or disabled ones. And they age Quick.

I know this and have to be honest that I didn’t like a lot of the clone wars. Don’t know why. Did like season 6 and yoda arc was super. Also i do know about them changing a bit but this is just to childish while i felt rebels went into a better place with said last few episodes plus first s2 episode 😉

If you didn’t give CW the justice to at least watch the whole thing before passing your judgement, your opinion really means nothing.

CW was the last thing Lucas contributed the myth of the Force. Episodes like Mortis , Yoda arch, we finally understand what one can achieve by force ghost, and Sith home planet. This show had a massive impact for overall Saga.

You can’t judge this in its full form yet, because they’re all clips taken out of context. By the way, you probably don’t know since you don’t care much about The Clone Wars, but the clone acting funny/weird is Gregor, who miraculously survived a big explosion. He’s a bit messed up now because of that.

Yeah… Not exactly the “grittiness” we were looking for in star wars

TV shows always have good bits and bad bits,
overall the clone wars was really good.
I do think filoni has a better grip of star wars than, say JJ (Purely based on into darkness…..hope I’m wrong) and would love, love, love, to see him direct one or even a couple of movies.
    Beep.

I like this show so far, but if it tries to say that Obi-Wan and Yoda are liars or contradicts ANH at all, it will no longer exist for me. That goes for Roque One too.

You sure you want to think this way, when Obi-wan has been proven to be a liar, and this whole “from a certain point of view” vibe that Jedi’s radiate?

Only The Empire Strikes Back gets to call Obi-Wan a liar. That’s it.

Return of the Jedi gets a pass because it just explained what Empire started.

To be fair, what he stated in ROTJ throws a lot of things he would’ve stated into question no matter at what point of his life he was in post-ROTS (doesn’t matter if he stated something in ESB, ANH, or during the 19 years he went into hiding after ROTS, it all can fairly be called into question); what he stated is a statement that is all-encompassing that transcends years.

Well it wouldn’t bother me if they were to chose to contradict or ignore what Obi-Wan said in Return of the Jedi so long as it doesn’t contradict ANH.

Is it just me or does the planet in this clip look very similar to the planet featured heavily in a certain trailer for a certain movie coming out in December.

You can bet they will use Rebels every chance they get this season to drum up interest for Ep7. Im sure we will get a ep7 teaser on repeat every week during the new episodes of Rebels as well.. So makes sense for them to throw something in to connect Rebels (pre ANH) with TFA. So yeah looks like it could be Jakku. Really dont understand why they need to do this unless they have something to connect between Rebels and TFA. Its a bit of a stretch if you ask me. Oh well im Rambling

I just think it’d be interesting to give the planet some kind of backstory as place people can go that don’t want to be found…ie Captain Rex and Co in Rebels and whoever Kylo Ren is after in TFA. I personally have come around to liking the idea on the new main characters not being directly related to OT characters. Basic Post Disney purchase can leave the old mythology largely alone and intact. You can use OT largely as tent poles to keep good will while you basically reboot the mythology for a new, more skeptical & cynical generation (not unlike the world in 1977). Even while that said the Who is Luke Skywalker question can be answered by the Original Trilogy…I venture to say he is who I consider THE Hero of Star Wars. Just my opinion.

I really liked the Clone Wars. But the animation of these clones sucks and they seem really out of place in Rebels. Whereas Ahsoka looks even better than in Clone Wars and she fits in. Season 1 of Rebels was so good. I really hope it hasn’t gone off the rails here.
