SW7N Review: Lando #1

LandoThe first issue of Marvel’s comic book series Lando is out now. Check out our review after the jump.

Excerpt from the review:

Who seduces a brutal, Imperial governor known as the “Burning Moff” so he can steal a piece of technology to pay off a large debt, ends up confessing to said governor in bed that he was using her all along and then manages to sweet talk his way out of her bed while she has a blaster pointed at his head? Who does that?

Lando #1

Lando does that.

This is a really great start to a great issue in a very promising series. Don’t worry, it’s not all sweet talking and suave moves. We actually meet up with Lando when he is in a very desperate situation. From the little backstory we get, Lando has a serious gambling problem and got in deep with the wrong people. The device he stole buys him a little more time, but the crime boss he is in deep with has another task for him: steal a luxury ship from a secret Imperial shipyard. Then Lando can walk away without a bounty on his head.

C’mon! Can you really do that? Technically, people that comment on articles are anonymous so how can you ban someone that is commenting on an article? This isn’t like the Cantina forum after all where people are matched up with a username and a recorded IP address.

Believe me, I can do that. There are ways. We have already banned lots of commenters who don’t follow the rules.

Hi! Welcome to the Internet! You have thing called an IP address. It’s possible to take steps to mask it, but most people don’t bother. You’re not likely to ever really be anonymous, especially to the people who run websites.

Hell, if you just Google the term “IP Address” then Google will show it to you.

Nah, I mask mine. I also have this thing where I’m constantly changing it (to fool sites into thinking that I’m a different visitor every time).

The art style of Lando, Star Wars and Last Padawan are just stellar. Plus the stories are great.

Back when Dark Horse comics did Tales of the Jedi, set before KOTOR, Ulic Quel Droma tries to infiltrate a Sith cult, and goes to bed with one of the leaders, but in the end falls to the dark side. That’s all Legends :P, so technically, this is the first shown 🙂

Technically, Anakin and Padme have a scene where they’re seen in bed…but they are just sleeping and she has some serious jammies on, so this was the first canonical risque moment in SW I guess you could say.

    He also has a mustache. Who’d a thought. 😉

I love me some Lando. Good to see him back and in his prime. Was nervous about this comic, but you’ve talked me into buying it.

Lando looks more buff in the comic than in the movies. Seriously, he’s like a hulk.
