First Look at Carrie Fisher as Leia from The Force Awakens

Leia HandsThe Hashtag Show has posted an image that appears to be Carrie Fisher, wearing a grey jumpsuit and black vest, the same costume we’ve seen from the second The Force Awakens teaser.

We didn’t have any doubts that Leia was in the second teaser trailer, but now here’s a better look at her costume from the movie (via ikwiz):

Carrie Fisher As Leia

Now this image has been around for some time. We’ve seen it with different watermarks, so I guess it was just a question of time before someone leaks it. The photo matches with Carrie’s new look with blonde hair she showed back in July (HERE).

Fisher

You probably have heard the rumors that Princess Leia will actually be Queen Leia in The Force Awakens. It’s interesting to see the Queen wearing a uniform that looks very similar to the regular rebel trooper outfit, as seen in A New Hope:

So the scene of Leia getting Luke / Anakin’s lightsaber becomes even more poignant.
I wonder if at this stage she thinks Luke is lost to her or even dead.
And I wonder if she will use the family lightsaber or choose to use her force talents in a different way.

That means the one shot in the tralier with R2 must be Luke!

No, the shot of R2 and the cloaked figure in the trailer IS NOT Luke Skywalker, it is Max Von Sydows character. Luke has ONLY a robotic hand. This persons entire arm is robotic. We have been told that his character is at least half bionic, like vader and grevious. I imagine that he has just given the lightsaber to R2 for safekeeping.

The bottom of Anakin/Lukes hilt dosn’t look too different from the bottom of Vaders. They both have the black rails. Tho, the rails are not present on Lukes ROTJ saber. Only his ESB saber, wich he lost on Bespin.

But its tough to see it from that angle.. My bet is that its Lukes.. Leia did’nt have a strong connection to Vader, as Luke did. It makes more sence to me.

Luke ROTJ Saber is definitely more similar to Obiwan’s Lightsaber, which is a nice gesture if you think about it.

Correct, and Vaders lightsaber would have blown up with the second death star. It is Anakin/Lukes. I don’t get what the deal with the sword is. It holds no special powers. Its nothing more than a relic. I think the whole idea with the sword is kinda weak.

It does look like the Sithy one, more plausible if Luke just picked up his Dads than somebody finding the one that fell on Bespin.

Yea.. But, but when Lukes cuts Vaders hand off, aboard the second Death Star, it is my oppinion that the saber goes over the rails and into the abyss. Same way the Emperor does 2 minutes later 😉

The saber is chrome from the grip up which is Annikens lightsaber that is given to Luke in ANH. Vaders saber had a very similar grip but the tip is matte black instead of chrome. I think making it Lukes saber makes it more interesting as well. It’s the saber Anniken used to bring down the Jedi and the saber that Luke started his jounrey with, pretty cool.

There’s no question that it’s the saber that was first passed down to Luke at all, never was.

The only thing Vader’s red lightsaber has in common with that is the bottom of the hilt.

It seems like “Luke’s Saber” is being tossed around every time this hilt is mentioned. I think the plot point regarding the saber will focus on the fact that it once belonged to Darth Vader. Luke used it for some time, but it was never really his. His own is the green saber we see in ROTJ. I know when we think Vader’s saber we think of the red one from the OT, but in a very real sense, the blue one belonged to Vader as well. He used it as a Jedi, sure, but he also used it to slay sand people and cut down the Jedi at the temple. The blue saber is very much a Sith relic as much as it is a Jedi heirloom. The saber MacGuffin will be about the fact it belonged to Vader not Luke. Otherwise we’d be looking at the ROTJ saber in the trailer and hanging on Finn’s costume.

Dont buy into him being Vader at that time. I Admit its been years since i’ve seen ROTS, but I don’t recall him being called Vader untill the very last end, (Rise lord Vader).
What I belive we see is Anakins rage. He dos’nt become Vader untill his transformation is complete, and called upon by the Emperor.

Anakin didn’t use that sword to kill the sand people. I have a replica of his sword from clones. The sword that is passed down to luke is not introduced until Revenge of the Sith. If you pay close attention to the first fight in Sith you can tell that both Anakin and obi wans sabers sound different than the ones in episodes II and III because they went back and used the original sound effects for their swords in A New Hope.

Let’s put it this way: If I was one of his sources I would never go to a mod to leak something, and I certainly would not want them to see anything that I would not want to be made public. And I am glad you responded that way, because that is exactly my point! I should not want to become a mod so I can see images. It would be so I, you know, I actually wanted to be a mod. But whatever he will probably find out the hard way, if he hadn’t already from the incidents of FakingStarWars. You act like this is actually bad advice when it’s actually the wise thing to do to not share material with new mods. I think you must be buddies with them or else you would not feel the need to speak for them.

Is Captain Antilles wearing a rebel outfit, then? He has the same style helmet as the soldiers.
Couldn’t the uniforms they have be those of Alderaanian guard/ship personnel? And you assume “no weapons” means no small arms rather than just no larger military weapons capable of fighting huge wars. You also assume the “soldiers” are meant to have those weapons and that the guns go with the uniforms.
If they were trying to look peaceful and unarmed to the Empire then why fire on the Imperials with weapons they claim they don’t use? They could have been hired soldiers to act as protection, but that just seems hypocritical for pacifists… And above all, why have their Alderaanian Captain wearing a military style uniform/helmet while he is claiming to be on a diplomatic mission?
Just because toys use the name doesn’t mean that is the end of the story. They could be rebel soldiers who come from Alderaan and are wearing local garb. Leia doesn’t seem too bothered using weapons and is both Alderaanian and a Rebel leader.

There is a distinct vain/wrinkle on her left wrist in the trailer, but I can’t find many decent pics of Carrie that show it, and none it that position (I’ve been trying to prove it is her to people who question it).

Vader possibly had two red sabers in ROTJ. He has the one when he starts fighting Luke but he throws that one at Luke when Luke jumps up onto that second-tier ledge and starts talking all that shit about “…I don’t believe you’ll destroy me now”. After Vader throws that saber at Luke and that scaffolding thing comes crashing down, Vader whips out another red lightsaber. Not unless we are supposed to assume Vader used the force to guide the one he threw at Luke back in his hands. It happens pretty fast so it seems there is a second red lightsaber.

That’s it! This is definite proof that Leia is a Sith lord in The Force Awakens!!!! Dressed in black and grey. Has her father’s light saber. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw her slaying tons of younglings and ewoks with that saber! Wicket’s days are numbered!!!!

I wish Carrie Fisher had shown a little more restrain with the plastic surgeries. She has that “I just sucked on a lemon for the first time” facial expression permanently bolted to her skull. It kinda makes me sad.

I wish society wouldn’t have said she looks like trash and said she looks “rough”, hence giving her insecurities that told her she needs to have plastic surgery in the first place.

Boom! Anonymous – just Boom! on that. Too much pressure on we ladies to look 25 all of our lives. Women in Hollywood know their days are numbered, it’s scary – men not so much, men get distinguished, we ladies get told to get plastic surgery. Carrie is a 58/59 year old woman for Pete’s sake. End of rant!

I was hoping for something more regal (like her mama) but I suppose this makes sense for a war room. Maybe Ep. VIII. What intrigues me most is: what is she “Queen” of?

I like this better than a regal outfit. I think it shows that she is still very closely involved in the rebellion/resistance. Makes me think of the scene in ESB where she is in the command room on Hoth during the attack, or in ANH when she was in the command room during the attack on the Death Star. A strong, commanding presence during dire times.

This is sort of cool to see, for those who are dying for new material. But it’s poor quality/weird pose/clearly not meant for distribution and if I were Leia/Carrie, I’d rather have the official images be the first ones released instead of this leaked thing.

I don’t like it. I was hoping for something a little more regal, something you might see Mon Mothma wear.

This looks more like a costume for action and she looks really too old for that.

Kylo searches for the crystal..was hidden in Lukes light Sabre by obiwan. Do you get the drift.

In the first draft of ESB Luke finds a “memory cell” crystal in the saber hilt that leads him to Yoda. R2 reads the data crystal and it contains coordinates to Dagobah (I don’t think it was named in the draft though).

Looks stupid… If she is a ‘Queen’ or ‘a leader’ of a new order…. I think she would be wearing something a bit more special..
Yes you all hate the PT, but at least padme had suitable attire based on her character role..

You assume Leia’s character role is to be Queenly. Maybe she is more militaristic than royal and doesn’t want to stand out among her people, which fits her personality from the OT anyway. There is also the fact that she could have more than one outfit and this is her battle uniform.
If this http://41.media.tumblr.com/d9918ec923316228145b86d56efe2331/tumblr_ngjpfn9mHP1tg9gcwo1_r2_1280.jpg was the first look you had at Padme, would you assume she wouldn’t dress in a royal manner anymore in EP2? And what if you saw her Tatooine look first in EP1?

      Padme didn’t have a role.

OMG…that saber was Vader’s saber for what….4 hours? It was made by a Jedi, it was in Luke’s possession for at least a couple of years. However, that saber killed way more Jedi than Sith in that tiny time Period “Vader” had it.

-Anakin gets the title Lord Vader
-He goes to the Jedi Temple right away
-After he’s done with the Jedi Temple, he is sent to Mustifar.
-Obiwan comes to Mustifar, cuts “Vader” up, and Obiwan now has the saber.

So would you give it maybe 4 hours that “Vader” had that saber? A day at the most.

Alright, I’m totally off topic but I just have to share this thought. I’m not sold on the fact that this dessert planet is “Jakku” Perhaps the name was changed from tatooine because it was the home of Darth Vader and they wanted that memory erased from the galaxy. Rey lives there. The skywalkers come from there and she is without a doubt a Skywalker. Just a thought.I mean how many dessert planets are there???
