UPDATE! Star Wars Celebration Anaheim: SW7N Primer & New Exhibit.

TFA StormtrooperBrace yourselves – tomorrow, Star Wars Celebration Anaheim arrives, and a flood of new information shall pour out with it. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be covering a large number of newsworthy events at the convention – and what you should expect from this site in the next four days. Join me (Pomojema), fellow staff member Trevor, and The Cantina users Mara Jade and Venamis (among others) as we get an inside look at the biggest Star Wars convention yet. Plus – news on a Celebration exhibit that was just revealed.

I’d like to preface this article with an earnest THANK YOU to my boss, Viral Hide – he was kind enough to purchase four-day passes for both me and my father (who has wanted to go to a Celebration event for a long time), and I’m really grateful that he was that generous. I would also like to thank Trevor for sending me a 1030th/SW7N shirt and some business cards to hand out at the event. I’d also like to note that Trevor and the site’s editors will co-write some of these articles (because there are going to be plenty), so I will be sure to thank them as they pop up.

Anyway, on with the show. For those of you who were worried about the drought of Star Wars news, fret not – over the next four or five days, we will be releasing at least eighteen articles (this one included) covering the boatloads of information that will be unveiled at the convention. Here’s a quick run-down of the kinds of articles we’re working on:

  • Primary Event Articles: Stories that deal with major announcements. Among these are stories covering the intro and outro of Celebration Anaheim, the trailer for The Force Awakens that is all but stated to occur at the event, details on major merchandise tied to Rebels and The Force Awakens, coming Disney Theme Park attractions, the promised Battlefront exposition, the premiere of Rebels Season 2, Star Wars content coming from Marvel and Del Rey, the discussion with Spinoff directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank, and any potential surprises that will come along the way. Expect updates for these stories as they break.
  • Secondary Event Articles: Fluffier pieces about fun events being held at Celebration. Among these are the 3-D Prequel Trilogy screenings (alongside the old-fashioned 2-D Original Trilogy movies), panels held by cast members, details regarding unfinished episodes of The Clone Wars, and whatever else might come up. Updates for these stories may happen if anything interesting pops up.
  • Recaps (Tertiary Event Articles): Summaries of what we did each day, plus some links to the various headlines that have popped up over the event. In addition to the recaps of the four days, there will also be a lead-in post (which is what you’re reading right now) and an overview of what we weren’t able to look at during the convention itself. Don’t expect updates for these.

Sounds like a lot of material to cover? You bet! And are we a little worried about covering it all? Of course! But we aren’t letting that stop us from telling you everything that there is to know about the biggest and best Star Wars Celebration yet.

Beyond that little guide over the next few, eventful days, there’s another big exhibit that’s being held that we just learned about: an exhibit showing various props and costumes from The Force Awakens. Dork Side Of The Force reports a description of the event:

“Fans attending Celebration will be the first in the world to see an incredible collection of props, models, costumes, and more used in the production of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Attendees will be able to view these pieces from a galaxy far, far away up close and in person – the first exhibit of its kind for the latest chapter in the Star Wars saga. There will be no additional fee required.”

The exhibit will be held on the following dates and times: Thursday (12 PM – 6 PM), Friday/Saturday (10 AM – 6 PM), and Sunday (10 AM – 4 PM). You can rest assured that we’ll be visiting this exhibit, and we’ll snap photos if we are given permission.

Stay on target at Star Wars 7 News for the latest details on The Force Awakens, RebelsBattlefront, Rogue One, and much more.

They’ve made it blatantly obvious that they’re going to show footage. That’s the only reason why they’re streaming the introduction.

In what way have they made it blatantly obvious? Talk of a trailer is purely speculative and rumor.

I was very excited until I realized…… all Disney is going to show are the props and costumes seen in the Abu Dhabi set photos.

The very least they can give us is a sign saying once and for all that this takes place on Tatooine.

I hope during the JJ and KK session one of them just yells and screams, “WHAT MORE DO YOU PEOPLE WANT?? We did ‘inside the force awakens’ and said ‘remember this planet?’ we’re sorry for making you get confused over WHICH sand planet has been in 5 out of 6 of the movies.” That would definitely clear it up for me and my confused mind..

I wish I could go to this so bad. I have been a Star Wars fan for 26 years and have never been to a celebration, convention or comic con event. Been dying to get some storm trooper armor and be in the 501st! Being broke sucks.

It’s weird how I’m not s excited about the second trailer as I was for the first. This time in November, I was literally losing sleep over the upcoming teaser.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am very excited. I think the difference back in November was that we didn’t have any official information on VII aside from the leaks, so I anticipated the teaser a lot more. This time, it’s less of an unknown.

Could also be that I’m more busy than I was in November. Either way, I can’t wait for tomorrow. By the end of Thursday, Star Wars will be on everyones mind. It’s about to get real.

In all truth even if someone gave me a free ticket and offered to take me there in a car, and push me inside in a wheel chair (even though I can walk). I still would not go, simply because it would be too much work and effort walking to the car parked outside, ready to take me there.

I`m so lazy and bone idle that its not even funny, and quite worrying. I prefer just to sit in my chair festering and watch it streamed on my screen. And let someone else do all the work and I reap the fruits of their labour. In the future maybe I can use a virtual reality head set and someone goes there and steams it with a camera, and it feels like I`m there, without having to use my muscles or anything.

P.S genuinely thanks for doing the work for us, I mean that. Its very much appreciated.

I`m a little disappointed if I`m honest. I was expecting the new storm troopers to look more like this:
    https://i2.wp.com/www.heyuguys.com/images/2014/10/Star-Wars-9.jpg

More bulky and armored. But I guess there is still a chance to see them like that. Perhaps they are an elite unit or something. The same design is routine and mundane. I`d also expect to see an updated rebel soldier uniform too.

Or maybe I just expect too much, and should just shut up and be grateful for what they give.

Its difficult to know what purpose the storm troopers uniform is there for. Protection or life support. Or just simply for show as they are expendable cannon fodder. They seem to die so easy with one laser blast. Would their armor not limit the damage ? even repel some hits. And if its not there for protection more for life support then there are gaps under the helmet and chinks in between the armor that could tear with exposure, its not very secure. They can`t even take a hit from a ewok sling shot.

Being sent into a hell hole ? the adeptus mechanicus recommend this. Accept nothing less.
