Seems like a real genuine guy with a love for the craft and what he’s suddenly a part of. “Do you want to direct Star Wars?” Would loved to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation

Did you not watch Zoe’s speech? This award is not for TFA. It’s for JJ’s accomplishments.

      What accomplishments? Jj=the rehash King.

Your comment is more overstated and repetitive than anything JJ’s ever done. If *actually* want to know about his accomplishments, watch the video. Otherwise, stop repeating the same old stupid arguments.

There’s so much expectation around TFA, so much
anticipation for Dec 18th, that it feels like we’re awaiting the 2nd Coming, or at least the arrival of ET.

Bizarre. JJ’s stuck in the past, he’s not creating the future of vfx. I’m sure there are other people who deserve a Visionary award more than JJA.

This will probably be the first time extreme practical and extremely advanced CGI will merge… this will be something that hasn’t been done to such scale before. I have a feeling TFA will set a new bar for production standards. All those ‘nothing but CGI’ flicks we’ll look back & laugh about the same way we do when we see every film that did the Matrix slow-down trick/ or any movie using slow mo people running away from explosions.

Relax! You’re just having nightmares about the prequels!

I really hope that this new Disney-Wars will be good at least as the worst of yours so much hated prequels… If so it will be a great movie.

Yep. Think so too. For me the prequels are good as well. I understand the flaws people see in them rationally. But while watching them these flaws never bothered me.

        Anon @3:332,

status quo for the day: fulfilled.

After doing your daily prequel bashing, it’s time to go back to your mom’s basement and pig out on junkfood while thinking about who you can troll next on the internet.

Wouldn’t want to be a director of any Star Wars movie ,the stress and the pressure to come out with a great movie would be too much for me to handle if I was a director.

Good Luck JJ and crew and all the actors involved ,I hope the movie is a success for everyone who worked on it.

Really I am hoping it will be good movie.

JJ deserved the award. He’s following in the footsteps of Spielberg telling solid stories with thoughtful effects. I think Star Wars is in good hands. Will it meet every expectation of the fans? Nope. Anyone thinking that one film can capture and reflect 37 years of pop culture is kidding themselves.

Dear JJ, Star Wars movies are a very complex canvas made up of many many different things that somehow resound in harmony with them self and the other movies.

You cannot call a movie “Star Wars” simply because it has lightsabers, X Wing, Wookies, or a character named Han Solo.
There is so much much more involved in created them.
The Maker knew it very well.
Unfortunately, few fans have realized it.

And for what I have read and see in the trailer (the new saber as exemple) TFA will not resound with the other six.

Many fans then will realized how great was the original vision of the Maker.

I cannot comprehend why people are suddenly so down on TFA and JJ. We’ve seen 88 seconds of content for this movie and suddenly people think they know what they are getting. Get your head out of your ass and try to enjoy something hundreds of people passionately created, or, at least, try not to ruin it for the rest of us.

Suggest you to fly very low with your hype about TFA.

Believe me, it will be a good action sci-fi movie, especially at the first sight.
After all, TFA can be defined more as a “fans service movie” than everything else.
In truth, TFA is created – more than every other movie recently – upon what marketing group thought would be fans-appreciated based upon their assumption & tiny Disney focus group.

The truth about TFA will eventually come out, unfortunately for us all.
