Preview of Marvel’s Star Wars #3.

Star Wars #3

StarWars. com has an exclusive first look at the third issue of Marvel’s Star Wars comic book series. Check it out after the jump.

From StarWars. com:

Han driving an AT-AT? C-3PO piloting the Falcon? Luke versus Vader — BEFORE Cloud City? Believe it, younglings.

Jason Aaron and John Cassaday’s bestselling Star Wars series for Marvel has introduced exciting new wrinkles into the mythos of a galaxy far, far away — many that fans never imagined. The book has been a thrill-a-minute ride in the spirit of the original trilogy, and StarWars.com is excited to present a first look at issue #3. Spoiler warning: Darth Vader versus AT-AT looks amazing.

Look for Star Wars #3 in stores and download on March 11.

Can`t you spill the beans on some episode 7 news instead of this cartoon crap. I bet you got a ton of stuff hidden away waiting to tell us about but your not releasing it yet. Just bring it forward and just release it please. Anything but cartoons please.

I personally like the Episode vii rumor of Luke guarding the ancient Sith tomb. Wish we could have an article here analyzing this.

Starbucks coffee sells sandwiches as well. Go there and protest while we keep enjoying Star Wars news here.

Then, by all means…just read the stories about the movie…and ignore the stories about related things that might or might not end up having something to do with the movie. Just because it’s here, doesn’t mean you HAVE to read it…and it’s not like it is causing you to have to wait for something else about the movie. Clearly they will put out news about the movie, alongside things like this, with multiple stories a day sometimes.

So…since it really doesn’t take anything away from you…then…FFS let the rest of us enjoy it, and exercise some self control and don’t bother reading (or complaining about) what you don’t care about.

I think I’ve heard Filoni once telling that they needed a new villain (Inquisitor) because Vader was kinda untouchable. By the contrary, Marvel deals with the character’s fate strongly.

The one’s being gunned down are slaves the Rebels are trying to free…they are getting gunned down by Vader and the Stormtroopers.

I mostly like the new canon, so far.

When I read this kind of stuff, I mostly try and read it by trying it with the mindset of a theoretical individual who watches/reads the whole thing in chronological order (I don’t know, maybe for my son, perhaps, when he’s old enough and I expose him to this)—it’s something I can’t turn off—nor do I particularly want to). Does anyone else do this?

One of the things I don’t like though is that such a hypothetical reader is first introduced to the AT-AT walker (the Empire’s upgrade to the Republic AT-TE) in this way. I find the subplot where Han and Leia steal an AT-AT and goof around with it to be, well, goofy, And to my inner-hypothetical-reader-who-watches/reads-everything-in-chronological-order, it would take a bit away from their subsequent reveal in ESB. Oh well, it’s a very minor nitpick.

Anyway, thanks for posting. Looking forward to #3.

i think they are just sticking to what has worked before. You will see an abundance of references and allusions to classic SW. Can’t go wrong. Worst case is that young people will enjoy the new Disney stuff more tan Classic stuff.

Completely agree. I feel like this comic is really fun for longtime fans reading them as “flashback” material, but thinking of them in chronological order I really feel it takes away slightly/significantly from later reveals. Like how luke confronts vader in one of the other comics, so retroactively subtracting from ESB that it was the first time they confronted face-to-face.

I’d rather have news encompassing all of the Star Wars universe under the umbrella of “starwars7news” rather than no news about Episode 7 under the umbrella of “all Star Wars news”.

Seriously, we are all fans here, and most fans care about every facet of the whole of Star Wars. If you don’t care about comics, or shows, or any of the other things relating to Star Wars then take a few months off of websites.

I for one appreciate all of the reporting on this site. Thank you for the preview images, so far Marvel seems to be handling the comic property well enough.
