(Updated With Video) Meet Hera, the Ghost’s Pilot from Star Wars: Rebels.

rebels

Hera is a Twi’lek and is voiced by actress Vanessa Marshall. She is the 7th and final major character to be introduced from the new show Star Wars: Rebels…

For the video introduction go to Entertainment Weekly:

“She is a very strong-minded character,” says Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni, “kind of the heart of the group, keeps everyone together when they would otherwise fall apart.”

“Every time we get a script I’m breathless with anticipation,” Marshall adds, “because I want to see where we’re going too.”

So 6 rebels and only 1 bad guy? I hope there are more in the actual show.

Here’s Numa with Cham Syndulla from The Clone Wars. Probably they are somehow related with Hera Syndulla.

There are a million more bad guys. They are called Stormtroopers.

Also, this whole show is starting to look like Teen Titans. Ezra= Robin. The wookee guy= Cyborg. Mandalorian girl= Raven. I guess Hera is the Starfire character.

    sigh…..

looking at the finished parts of the animations seen in this video I think she’s the most good-looking character by now, maybe except for the inquisitor…ezra sucks a lot

The most recently released characters are the most interesting, in my opinion. The others seem too much like other Star Wars characters with little twists to their personas; not too creative or originalat all, but Zeb, Sabine and Hera seem like pretty unique characters. I hope the plot explains what this band of rag-tag cretins has to do with the rebel alliance. Right now I’m having trouble trying to understand how they could have kickstarted something as focused and serious as the rebellion against the empire. They don’t seem like the kind of people that’d be plotting against the Emperor like a independent planetary government or senate would. I’m curious to see how this all plays out and how the origin of the Starbird is related. The Ghost’s team insignia is very similar.

Why would he leave silly losing all the time for a ‘bunch of kids”.

He is most definitely the most rent a villain I’ve seen in some time. In a way it’d almost be more interesting if he were just a cunning imperial officer.

Star Wars was better off when force users were mystical all but extent warriors. Be they Sith or Jedi.

Yeah the specialty of the force has vastly been depleted thanks to the over-use of it and the jedi stuff in the clone wars, and now it looks the same with Rebels. I would have made vader as the villain (as he is the clear villain at this point in the star wars timeline) so there is a presence of the force, while keeping the hero’s to just normal folk like Leia, Han, Luke. (well, before Luke mastered the force like in a new hope).

Ummmmmmm MAYBE its cuz his life goal in between episode 3 and 4 is hunting down EVERY jedi, and there are 2 counting ezra who has been seen holding a lightsaber alot of times. so yeaaa vader has plenty of reasons

Who pilots the PHANTOM? Do they share it? Did I miss that info somewhere? Is there a mystery character yet to come?

Okay I’m not gonna lie, I have been one of those Anonymous hate commenters for a couple of weeks now, HOWEVER, after seeing these new characters and watching their origin storyboards a couple times over they’ve started to grow on me. And so far after seeing this last one, who I’ve been dying to see because she was in Clone Wars, I think I’m gonna like this show. Hera, Zeb, and Chopper are my 3 favorites right now. I don’t like Ezra right now though I think he sounds too much like younger Boba Fett who I wasn’t really a fan of.

If anyone has read “The Last Jedi” (novel) it sort of reminds me of this… It was a very ‘rag tag’ group that were ran by a force sensitive leader (Thi Xon Yimmon) and a young Jedi Knight that once trained with Anakin (Jax) and a force using (non-jedi) Twilek female, as well as a droid and I believe a Rodian. Jax isn’t sure if he’s the last of the Jedi (he hopes and believes not) and he runs into other underground factions that are fighting elements of the Empire in small fights. They operate on one ship and bounce around making contacts with others while being hunted down by Vader. (It has a similiarity to this concept, I believe).

This last character and information gives me hope. So, this is a group of rebels probably working together, not a lot of diferent characters in multiple situations. Probably they act under influence of rebel leaders like Mon Mothma, Organa, Madine or Ackbar. It’s like OT, a group fighting the empire. At last probably we will have good points. I hope animation will have some personality, (Like Tron: Uprising, for me absolutely underrated).not just another computer animation series.
The group seems too Young but hoping they will bring us good stories. And i like the ship. 🙂

Would it make you all feel better if I said I am going to send in a character idea to the people who are making/producing/directing Rebels? Who do I send the character idea to anyway. *Ahem* My character is a bounty hunter and that’s all I’ll tell you. Please pray that thhey accept it. Thanx! 🙂 Oh, and Hera is cool! Oh, oh, is it just me or are you guys thinking Sabine+Ezra… < I HOPE REBELS HAS NONE OF THAT

Sabine’s at least 7 years older then Ezra… Most people don’t “ship” things that may or may not be pedophilia…

Okay, this is the Anon who posted the comment you guys are replying to. Please call me Tigress… Okay, i know it’s lame but I like Kung Fu Panda and Tigress is easy to rememer.

      @Anonymous February 21, 2014 at 3:18 am
I thought Sabine looked older (and taller) than Ezra. And Um, what does pedophilia mean?

      @ Anonymous February 20, 2014 at 11:51 am
Well, I’m not one for romance and I know the OT (and the PT especially the PT) had romance in it also. I hope I don’t sound rude. I’m not trying to.

      @ Anonymous February 21, 2014 at 1:54 am
Are you saying you would like to see Sabine+Ezra or you would like to see my character? I know, I know, the directors probably won’t accept my character. I don’t even know where to send the idea too anyway

Oh, and I know I should have said this in my last comment, but please don’t leave rude replies. Thank you.

      God Bless 🙂

I chuckle when OT fans bash the prequels for bad romantic dialogue, and then praise such “masterful” moments like “my hands are dirty too.” LOL.

@…Tigress…. “pedophilia” is, well the literal definition or rather translation is “child lover” but it’s normally taken in the context of an adult having sexual feelings for minors and is pretty much a felony everywhere. While this would probably be more…hmmm…statutory misuse(?) it could still be considered incredibly weird and inappropriate, especially for a kids show… You know what? Nevermind this is an uncomfortable subject and hard to explain in any context..

If Episode VII presents females as well as this show is shaping up, than maybe there’s some hope for fangirls (and guys like me who don’t mind seeing more than one female character in an action flick.)

Attack of the Clones had two female characters…? Oh, I guess that one scene where padme is talking to the queen and anakin interrupts like an asshole would count, but what’s the other?

The other scene is the beginning when Padme talks to her dying decoy after she ship got attacked. “I failed my lady..” “No..”
