Star Wars Rebels: Dave Filoni Releases Clarification Regarding Ahsoka And The Loth-Wolf.
Dave Filoni just opened up a gift for his birthday… Surprisingly for us, not himself! He’s offered a little bit of clarification about Ahsoka’s fate going forward.
Ever since Star Wars Celebration Orlando, there’s been a bit of speculation with regard to what the Loth-Wolf might be, with some fans thinking that it could be Ahsoka “reincarnated” or Ahsoka possessing the animal in some way in order to rescue Ezra and his friends from afar. While Filoni doesn’t give us a straight answer ahead of the show’s return, he does let us know that Ahsoka and the Loth-Wolf are not one and the same:
It might be my Birthday, but here is a gift, and perhaps a clarification, for you.
May the Force be with you!

So from here, it’s safe to say that the Loth-Wolf’s appearance will most likely have to do with Ezra’s Force empathy skills that allow him to interact with various animals – an aspect of his character that was surprisingly neglected in Season 3 – since Ahsoka turning into a “Force Wolf” is off the table now. As for the Convor (which can also be seen in the image and was present in a few episodes of the show), it’s presumed by many that it’s not Ahsoka, but some kind of incarnation of the Daughter of Mortis from Season 3 of The Clone Wars (who, as many have forgotten, resurrected Ahsoka from a temporary death). Season 4 is still a ways off, and it’s likely that they won’t get into Ahsoka’s continuing story until the tail end of the show, but this is at least interesting food for thought.
Grant has been a fan of Star Wars for as long as he can remember, having seen every movie on the big screen. When he’s not hard at work with his college studies, he keeps himself busy by reporting on all kinds of Star Wars news for SWNN and general movie news on the sister site, Movie News Net. He served as a frequent commentator on SWNN’s The Resistance Broadcast.
Am i the only one who knew Ahsoka wasn’t going to turn in to a giant Wolf? lol
Yes, you are the only smart one who has watched Star Wars.
I think the question may have been rhetorical.
I’m afraid I can’t take that chance
I believed she could have been become the Bendu and take the Wolf form.
But Im glad they seem to be going with the Ahsoka lives (in her natural form). But I do think she will be spiritually connected to the wolf.
Perhaps the Bendu (represented by the owl) helped train her on Malachor.
In other words, Ahsoka is not a wolf, the convors represent the daughter who resurrected Ahsoka in TCW, and Kanan is Rahm Kota. Wait, waht?
Great. Hated the idea.
Ashoka is that owl in the picture
Whilst wishing Filoni all the best for his birthday, allow me one more comment.

Yup. I can accept many weird things in Star Wars (like sound in space and people spontaneously dying of a broken heart) but Ashoka “dying” off screen and being reincarnated as a giant wolf is one leap I’m not sure that I could take.
I can see the in-universe logic being stretched just enough to make it possible, especially after Mortis (unless they finally admit that the characters had a couple of brownies that were too good to be legal).
It would, however, undoubtedly do a disservice to Ahsoka from a character and storytelling perspective.
Don’t get me wrong Im happy that she seems to be living in her natural Togrute form.
But if she was intended to die on Malachor, I think it would be great if she “lived” on as a Wolf Force Spirit. I wouldn’t want her to talk or be conscious that she was Ahsoka. But to have her exist on and help the innocent (say protect a farmers from pirates) would be a fitting end to Ahsoka.
But again. I much prefer Ahsoka alive.
Either way, killing off Ahsoka essentially off-screen would have been bad form in my opinion.
The broken heart death thing has been explained
Not to my satisfaction.
Fair enough
We he said not the wolf…but he didn’t say not the owl…
Oh no.
Dang. I actually liked the reincarnation idea.
Rey is reincarnation of Ahsoka

This movie has to be made. After Kenobi’s one ofc 😉 she could appears along side with OBI without harm canon and leaving enough room for her movie szttled before OBI one’s.
The owls are not what they seem

THANK YOU Dave Filoni! What a great gift to Star Wars fans. What a relief that we won’t have to endure reincarnations into animals. Why can’t animals just have their own special gifts without resorting to reincarnation? (Well, now they can!)
