UPDATE! [****] Spotted on the Star Wars Episode VIII Set in Dubrovnik, Plus New Creature Photos.
Yesterday one of our readers grabbed some photos from the Croatian site DuList and posted them in our comments section. Later DuList took down their article but the photos posted here remained. They should be considered spoilerific since they reveal for he first time the presence of one of the lead actors/characters that was not mentioned before. Also several photos with different creatures were posted from the 5th day of filming in Dubrovnik.
SPOILERS!
First let’s start with the most interesting picture. It’s a very cool looking alien horse-like creature being pulled by a small vehicle in front of the camera car.
Looking at the picture most people missed the more interesting fact from it. Let’s have a closer look.
Yes, that’s right. This is Finn riding the alien horse with someone else in front of him. He is wearing the same jacket from The Force Awakens and it seems like he is carrying a bag. Here’s Finn’s toy, just for comparison:
Of course this doesn’t necessarily mean that this is John Boyega on the photo. It could very well be his stunt double. (John Boyega’s snapchat account actually confirms that he is in the UK, so this definitely is his stunt double). As we already know Daisy Ridley’s stunt double is also in Dubrovnik.
Also, my guess is that the person in front of him is a woman considering the small feet size. As we know, the rumors are that there is some kind of chase happening on the Dubrovnik streets. It looks like Finn and this girl are trying to run away from something/someone. It’s just a guess.
Here are the other photos posted by Dulist and shared in our comments section by user Kicker:

Also the guys from StarWarsDubrovnik found these photos on Instagram:
A photo posted by The Dubrovnik Times (@dubrovnik_times) on
As we mentioned before these militia guys are definitely inspired by McQuarrie’s art for the Imperial Royal Guards:
Also DailyMail posted a fantastic collection of photos where you can see several new creatures including a better look at the creature that Finn was riding:
The above image is from the scene where the speeder will crash into the pillar. You can see it before and after the crash.
One of our readers (Hadyn) noticed that the same creature was included in the book The Art of Star Wars The Force Awakens. Here it is:
UPDATE!
The guys from StarWarsDubrovnik got a few pictures from Dubrovnik’s main street which is already being prepared for the tonight’s shoot:

Finn with the new actress Kelly Marie Tran?
If that’s Finn they must have got him a new jacket similar to the old one that was slashed up by Kylo. He has different boots on here, they were stormtrooper shoes in TFA.
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016/10/1457877907-original-1.jpg
Man, that thing must be a bear for the Streets Division to keep up with! In my town (Philly) they make the ‘ye olden toures’ folks w/ horse buggies stick big poo bags ’round the horses’ nether quarters! Ooooof…
Finn must really dig the Resistance leather jacket, always in style no matter which galaxy you’re in.
LOVE The aliens in these pictures.
I’m waiting one someone to gripe about them not using classic aliens. But pretty much all the aliens seen in ESB we never saw again, and seveal in the ANH cantina we never saw again.
I’ve already seen that in another thread, it was hilarious.
“This ANH rehash needs to be more ORIGINAL!”
“Wait, where are all the aliens from ANH?”
Classic aliens and story rip-off are two different things.
I want classic aliens from EP I-VI back with some new aliens.
But I want new original story, not rip-off.
TFA story was a rip-off of ANH but all aliens where new. And that is fail.
Returning aliens give this universe continuity, belonging to the same world.
Just like in TESB and RotJ when we saw tons of returning aliens? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Gosh, you people are ridiculous.
there were aliens in ESB besides Ugnaughts and Yoda?
Tauntauns, Wampa, Giant Space slug, Mynocks, few creatures on Dagobah, but hardly anything else.
well I meant sentient aliens… so yeah it was just Yoda and the Ugnaughts that were sentient aliens in ESB. Cloud City security guard Utris M’Toc was cut from the movie but his species was never seen in any other movies either.
Yeah, Empire had the least amount of aliens of any of the films. And they had a higher budget than ANH. There were a couple on Cloud City in some production photographs I’ve seen, but I never saw them in the context of the movie.
Eh, Rogue One, are you out there. Needing a little proof-of-life.
John is in London đ source: his snapchat
it could be his stunt double
all looking very cool đ
Everything looks like Naboo. How city looks, clothes, hairstyles.
I hope it is Naboo, because I do not want another Tatooine-Jakku case.
Or Naboo-Nakku in this case.
Yeah, we know. You actually made this exact comment on a previous article.
…and it still has no logical context that’s meaningful to the storyline of Ep. VIII *fist bump*
*Ultimate fist bump*
It has. You just refuse to accept it.
Yeah, well. That’ll be your little secret. Meanwhile, for those of us anchored in plausible reality – there’s some Aurebesh text you’ll want to familiarize yourself with on the Dubrovnik militia / guard / TMNT Shredder helmets… http://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2016/03/first-look-at-troopers-from-the-starwars-episodeviii-set-in-dubrovnik.html
Not really. The clothes look more modern formal than the colorful Italian Reiassance garb worn by the Naboo. The streets are lit up and rigged with a lot of technical gear, light fixtures and conduits. Naboo was pretty sparse with this sort of thing and pristine.
Well I do not think soo.

Stop. Spamming. Pictures.
It is not spam, it is an evidence that supports my point.
The post a few pictures in a comment. You posted several comments full of pictures. That is spam, and you do it too often.
TURD
Pffft – you’re late to the party; I called him that months ago.
Was a TURD IS a TURD FOREVER a TURD.
Merit lies in recognition.
K brah.
K.
Lora, be careful. I spent months showing evidences that Jakku was Tatooine.
And let’s be honest – it might as well have been for all the difference it made.
Not convinced. Naboo is pristine, low tech aesthetically, very classical Italian, flowery and Art Nouveau. Dubrovnik set is filled with electrical paneling, wires, tubes strung along the street. Light up windows and doorways. The costumes look like European formal wear late 1800s-early 1900s. Naboo costumes are, like the architecture, classical Italian Renaissance.
To me they look the same.

Also Naboo has other cities too. Like how we can see in Clone Wars and canon novels.
Kaadara city

Keren City ( modern Naboo city full of nightlife, alot of clubs )

Also Naboo senator Thadlé Berenko from TFA ( killed when Hosnian prime is destroyed ) for comparison.

HOWeeeeeever…..the pics of some of the women extras in the post TODAY certainly do seem to have the same hair style….hmmmm.
But… 60 years later………..
Totally plausible, 60 years later Naboo changes so much it might as well be an entirely different place, but everything else mostly looks exactly the same.
A**hole
Now post one still for each 30f of that sequence, just to really, really make whatever point it is you’re going for.
Lol don’t giver her any ideas.

And from the EP VIII set.

Refugees from 80s MTV videos?
More modern formal than vibrant Renaissancy clothes.
But look at the evidence + plot: What reason would they have for a formal procession on Naboo? Corellian funeral ceremony for Han is the logical choice here…
Naboo is Leia new homeworld.
Alderaan survivors are settled on Naboo, and Leia is a Alderaan princess and daughter of Naboo Queen ( as we know from the new canon novels and comics ).
And Han was husband of Leia.
Great. But. Again, does NOT feed / advance the Ep. VIII narrative – it’s pure fan-service, and nothing more (like, “Yay, we’re on Naboo, and Leia’s MOM is from Naboo…Yay! *crickets*)
How (in terms of the larger plot) does going to Naboo accomplish anything? Look at the map of the new canon galaxy, and tell me how Naboo is in any way meaningful and not a complete momentum-killer here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_galaxy?file=Canon_galaxy_map.jpg
Look how close Corellia is to the just-destroyed Hosnian Prime system – the now-kablooie Senate, the Sir No Longer Appearing in This Film Republic fleet. Having Corellia appear allows the plot to advance (a rallying point for the aftermath of the First Order’s destruction of the infrastructure of the New Republic) AND provides the fan service bit as well (‘Yay! It’s Corellia – we’ve never seen Corellia. Yay! And Han is from Corellia, etc.’)
As you can see on map. Naboo is very close to D’Qar.
D’Qar is a planet where resistance is located.
Also like I already said, Naboo is tied to Leia and Alderaan people. And it is one of the most important planets of the New Republic in the new canon.
Soo it is very important for the Star Wars story.
http://s15.postimg.org/tqowlweif/Screen_Shot_03_13_16_at_06_49_PM.png
*Yawn*
So spending time on Naboo in all 3 of the Prequel films wasn’t enough for you? No, why bother to see something NEW (like Corellia) when we can hash up old s**t?
BO-RING….
Next!
I want to see old and new planets.
I do not want another Naboo, rip-off of Naboo.
I can say the same thing about this whole “Han’s funeral” rumor. So putting Han Solo in four movies (soon to be five if you include the spinoff) isn’t enough so they have to make him an integral part of episode 8? BO-RING. (I don’t really think so, of course.)
As a side note, I wonder if Mr. Monocle Man= This trilogy’s Lobot.
Well, since JJ established that it is now apparently literally only minutes between any two star systems you care to name, and some are so close that you can just look up in the sky and SEE them real time, what does distance matter?
When did he establish star systems were only minutes apart?
Using the same transitions that Lucas did when they were traveling at light speed in the Original and Prequel trilogies?
Or the weird, unexplainable temporal algorithm to explain the time lapse between Luke training on Dagobah and Han and Leia being chased by the Empire through an asteroid belt and then sitting inside a giant worm?
I’ll give you the last bit as kind of weird, but if Starkiller was firing what amounts to a directed super nova from its cannon, then yes, it would be possible to see the project and especially the resulting explosion from planets millions of light years away from the targets.
To the naked eye? You’d have to cut that down substantially. Is there a map that shows those two worlds in relation to each other that’s canon?
This has been asked to Lucasfilm story head Pablo Hidalgo. He answers a lot on his twitter.
It’s the editing of both the trip from Jakku and the trip to Achoo that really bothers me. The way those sequences are put together doesn’t imply any real passage of time. Think again about the OT and PT trips – yes, same kinds of wipes but the key difference is that Lucas and Kersh split all those trips up by cutting to something happening somewhere else, allowing a better sense that ‘And Time Passes’. TFA, particularly that last trip, implies they jump to lightspeed and almost immediately drop out again. Yes, you can certainly argue there might have been more time in there somewhere, but the editing doesn’t work to tell that story at all. It’s clearly a stylistic choice, because JJ did the exact same thing in both his ST films. I just hate it.
Fair E nough.
“Is there a map that shows the two worlds in relation to each other that’s canon?”
.
No, but luckily there IS a shot in TFA which shows the planets all closer to each other than the moon is to Earth. I know, I know – it’s a pew-pew space movie and it shouldn’t bother me so much, but THAT was the real moment I felt that the film started to veer off course very badly, and it STILL drives me nuts.
Do you mean when the weapon is striking and exploding the Republic capitol?
I assume those worlds it’s hitting ARE moons of .. I need to learn the name of that system, or at least other inhabited planets IN the star system. And it’s Star Wars, eclectic or strange orbits should be expected.
It did make me think about the shot when I saw it too. By the fifth viewing though I was just astounded at how big the Republic fleet was that got blowed up, that you barely see đ
By the fifth viewing I think it counts as brain washing đ As I recall the order of shots, you see the planets/moons go foom, then cut to Han looking up into the sky of Takkodona at an equal number of ‘sploshuns. My read is that it’s supposed to be all the planets that were just wiped out. REGARDLESS, the fact that there is even a question about what the hell you’re looking at there says there is a problem with the design of that sequence.
.
And, yeah, I think on my second viewing I noticed some teeny-tiny ships in orbit. I guess that was supposed to be the fleet?
Every time I went I saw more and more teeny tiny ships not just in orbit but in other parts of the shot. And yeah, that was the fleet. They were ovoid in shape, I assume Mon Calish.
Han, the criminal, and one time hero. I dunno, people keep saying Han’s funeral, but I just don’t see that character getting a state procession.
WATCH OUT.
I agree with you Pants.
If once you start down the dark path… đ
FOREVER WILL IT DOMINATE YOUR TROLL.
Damn it.
Hooray! Now you just need to learn what ‘troll’ means, and we can get a room.
Trust me. I know. But, let’s be real. If we’re going to get together that way, it’s beneath a bridge.
Plus millions if not billions died on Hosnian Prime. It would be more like a big memorial service.
I do – he had legit / shady followings & was known as a legend on both sides of the coin. Think of Rey & Finn’s exchange, where he recalls General Solo the war hero & she is aware of him as a great smuggler, and famously misquotes the Kessel Run stat @ 14 parsecs, not 12…
Yeah, see that whole exchange is one of the little logical things that bug me about TFA, so it’s not going to move the needle for me unfortunately.
THAT…is why you fail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ytCEuuW2_A
đ
Come on – Rey knows all there is to know about Han’s life as a smuggler, a job that by its very nature would entail being inconspicuous and keeping a low profile, but DOESN’T have any clue about his very public life as a war hero. And why? Because the script wants to have the exchange “You’re Han Solo!” “I used to be.”.
I see where you’re coming from – it is a wee bit tidy, if I’m being brutally honest.
YET: We know famous smuggling figureheads of the past like Joe Kennedy, Al Capone, etc. Rey (conveniently, as the kid who grew up around seedy Unkar Plutt crowd) knew about Han’s criminal past (well, that & she grew up literally in the shadow of the Millenium Falcon, even if she wasn’t aware that’s what it was), just like Finn (growing up in the 1st Order Youth) would be aware of famous ‘traitors’ of the Rebellion who helped topple Palpy & Co.
Han wasn’t just a one time hero, it was he and Chewie who planted the explosives to enable The Resistance to take out Starkiller Base. That with Han assisting Luke at the Battle of Yavin and getting the shield deactivated on the moon of Endor.
I don’t think it looks that much like Naboo. Except for the colourpalette (which is missing the greenish blue roofs) they have very little in common. Naboo has mainly round shapes with very little edges. In general pillars and details are not as massive as the doorways that can be seen in the pictures. So i am afraid it’s Nakku đ
Then again, they could do a lot of CGI work to the top f the buildings.
they could but it doesnt look to me that way. Of course I am not involved in that whole process but I know quite a bit about compositing and special effects and there are a few things that tell me that relaitvely little will be edited in a lot of the shots (especially if they are closeup shots). 1. The Pillars in the town just end at a certain hight. Adding additional detail in height would be easier with putting something green at their ends so that it’s easier to digitally extend them. So i think it will be a low shot where the camera is placed relatively close to streetlevel. 2. In contrast to this in the picture with the white hooded alien with the big head you can see they used greenscreen. it will most likely be replaced with a city skyline of some sort in the distance. 3. usually if there is an extensive use of orange or green coloured dots on the corners of buildings it means lots of CGI. these are used for tracking so that your 3D scene adapts to the 2D imagery you want to put it in (rotation, scaling, movement…). These are missing as far as i can see on the pixelated pictures so i guess there wotn be that much cgi going on. But then again I work as a Gamedesigner/Modeller and not in Movies so I could be mistaken đ
Blue roofs are VFX. They do not exist on locations in Italy and Spain where they filmed Naboo scenes.
They can add blue roofs with CGI.

http://d2o1vmafkvvmgv.cloudfront.net/newsletter/real-deals/star-wars-Villa-del-Balbianello3.jpg
That is correct but in the few set pieces they build in SW1 (models included) they used this greenish metal in some shots when they wouldnt be added later. The architecture just looks not “earthly” and “renaissancy” enough for me to be naboo đ but i can understand your reasoning đ
I don’t know why you and some others want this Naboo thing to happen. I mean what is important in Naboo? I see no connections to the plot.
I’m sure it will be a never before seen planet.
Naboo is Leia new homeworld.
Alderaan survivors are settled on
Naboo, and Leia is a Alderaan princess and daughter of Naboo Queen ( as we know from the new canon novels and comics ).
Also Palpatine, Emperor was from Naboo.
Empire and First order tried several times to conquer Naboo
Also D’Qar is very close to Naboo.
Naboo is one of the most important planets for Star Wars saga story.
Could be Corellia?
Could be LV-426
Well I see your point. Important characters are connected to Naboo, and I can imagine that the story continues in Naboo but I still like the idea of this planet being a new one more. I mean it is a huge galaxy with millions of systems, we should visit a new one (or a place which was only shown in the clone wars series.) We’ve seen enough Naboo in the prequels.
Sorry, when did the First Order try to conquer Naboo? And the Empire had conquered Naboo, as well as the rest of the galaxy.
After ROTJ ( as we learned from canon comics and novels ).

http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s–usrjwiWi–/1476528250674716707.png
That isn’t the First Order. It’s the Empire.
I’m amazed I now know far more about Episode VIII – which is alomst 2 years away – than I do about RO which is out in 9 months! Not that I want loads of spoilers, but you’d think we’d know something about it by now.
People care alot more for EP VIII than for Rogue One.
People really do not care that much for Rogue One.
Actually people do care about Rogue One, not as much as Episode VIII obviously, but Star Wars fans are hungry for Rogue One info as well.
But…
“Stay tund for more”
That should be *tuned*.
Haha that is so evil. Don’t correct a star wars brother
TUD, Good ctch!
I see wht you did there.
đ
Or…Stay *TUD’d* for more? đ
badum tss

With the Black and White, could this be the Capital of the First Order?
Kelly Marie Tran spotted?
Actually looks like Finn is rocking Resistance gear in that picture. Take a look at the boots, him and whoever is riding with him have the same boots on and if you look closely at his jacket it looks different IMO but who knows for sure
Some of the pics were just removed!

Ayy when we getting that rouge one trailer though?
Rouge One? Is that a sequel to Moulin Rouge?
No that’d be Rouge Two, obviously.
Sounds legit.
Joke is tired – do more better!
http://www.mycooltruckstuff.com/images/thumbs/0000150.jpeg
Nice.
From The Art of The Force Awakens:
Not seeing it.
Why does Finn wear the same jacket as in Episode VII? Wasn’t is slashed by Kylo Ren?
It was, but it could easily have been repaired.
Yes, Resistance are all about recycling and reuse.
Good point! Probably Poe sew it for him đ
It is a uniform. They have more than one!
Considering that it was a pilot’s jacket, I bet they have more.
If you look closely, it seems like Finn is wearing Resistance garb. There’s also rumors or speculation that the person riding with him is actually Rey and not Kelly Tran, since both Boyega and Ridley’s stunt doubles are at the set while its sorta confirmed that Boyega and Ridley themselves aren’t there. So to me, this is a scene with Rey and Finn and they’re both wearing Resistance gear since they’re wearing the same boots, it should kinda answer your question. The jacket looks different to me.
Pic didn’t work before. From The Art of The Force Awakens:
Great catch
Nice.
Hey Guys!
Can I share with you a good anecdote ? Yesterday I was doing a shooting for a client in Paris in a very small coffee shop. I was filming the place trying to avoid people faces (for the image rights). I was filming a girl for a while, very Parisian style. All of a sudden this girl turns and guess who was?? I was filming Natalie Portman đ Such a magical moment. I asked the owner of the cafe if I could ask her for a photo, but she told me that was something that quite bothers her. Didn’t do it of course, but I will never forget I filmed Natalie Portman in a Paris coffee, even if she’ll never know đ
Image removed by request? Is that like from the official folks or did another site have them and want them exclusive?
it’s more likely Oscar Isaac in the jacket, since it’s simply a pilot jacket. John Boyega is currently still in the UK atm. just check his snap chat stories.
No, the guy is black and has the same hair as Finn
Shouldn’t he have new clothes?
Dream sequence while unconscious at the Resistance Base – Finn is riding a magical unicorn bareback through the warm, humid night with a hot Asian chick, who somehow turns into Poe.
And then they use the force and check out each other’s lightsbaers.
“C-3POhh! C-3POhhhh!”
Well, I was more thinking “romance novel cover with Fabio” levels of softcore, but I suppose rough trade was also an acceptable answer.
It doesn’t have to be John Boyega riding the creature for it to be Finn.
Pictures are being removed, but why?? They’re shooting a movie in Europe, in public space … a city. They should expect people to take pictures. If they don’t like it then maybe they should use a studio.
That’s what I wanted to know, is there a lawyer in the house? as fa as I know, any pic one takes, the Copyright belongs to the, even if the subject isn’t, that’w shy paparazzi get away with so much, there’s nothing you can do about it as long as you don’t commercially exploit the images, right?
Right. Is this what we’re doing now? Caving to every “request”? Going to make for a much less interesting run up to 8 than 7.
remember when all those pics of the falcon and X wings and such leaked from TMZ in the summer of 2014? Other than the Jakku pics, the others were taken in Pinewood.
We donÂŽt know who is the “requester”…
May be is the owner of the pictures who is wanting to sell them.
But I think you are right.
Well there’s a law (at least in parts of europe) for cases like that. Theoretically you are not allowed to take pictures at the beach which depict people other than your family or friends. you would have to blurr out their faces or get the permission to use the picture from every person visible in the picture. So yeah, Disney has the right to request swnn to remove the pictures.
Those tables in the street are likely beeing ruined by that speeder during the chase đ
What, weren’t they able to get fruit-stands as god intended for all chase scenes?
Probably Naboo
Evidences
That’s not funny.
More chance of Alec Guinness returning in Episode VIII.
They weren’t kidding when they said it was going to be darker than Empire Strikes Back. There is no greater evil…
Dani. I loves you.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t even joke.
Ah yes Christian Can Canobi, first of the line.
That white alien is almost creepy.
It’s a pity Abrams never used such inspiring carpentry in his set designs, which were all completely redundant of things we had already seen in past films, thus making them entirely unoriginal.
This is to be expected, he’s a complete Hollywood hack. Rian Johnson, on the other hand, is extraordinary and will obviously make a Star Wars movie unlike any we have ever seen and cater to my every whim.
I mean, our every whim. As a community of Star Wars fans.
These costumes are amazing though. Far more inspired than what was used in Episode VII. JJ has no vision.
Oh wait. Some of these designs came from Episode VII? Or Ralph McQuarrie drawings?
JJ still sucks.
(Sorry this thread was missing something)
But isn’t costume designer Michael Kaplan working on this movie as well?
:X
Okay, you hate JJ we get it. Now you get to share you petty hatred with the world. Aren’t you so happy to have the internet so you don’t have to keep it bottled up inside? No, you meant your every whim. You are the center of the universe after all.
If it’s a hack to get 90 percent of the fanbase liking it, I’ll take hack all day.
đ
WAH! I DISAGREE AND THEREFORE YOU SHOULD SHUT UP AND GO AWAY BECAUSE I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ‘HAVING A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION’ AND ‘TROLLING’.
(Hey, you’re right! It WAS missing something!)
It’s absolutely adorable when you stick up for your protege.
I have a protege? Neat! And here I just thought I was adding balance to your usual droning.
Do you mean droning as constant rhythmic sound?
Or my attacks are like that of a stealth semi-autonomous aerial assault vehicle circling above and seeking out ne’er-do-wells so that I may put them down humanely in an explosion of punctual verbosity?
No, more like that constant, annoying background buzz you get from shitty electrical features. And where is this secret apprentice I have! You said I get a protege, and I want a protege dammit!
The one you keep defending. I don’t post names anymore because then the Mods remove my posts. I figured that one out all by myself.
I didn’t realize I was defending him, more that I feel you from time to time stretch irony to its breaking point – super glad you’re here to explain my motivation to me. It is entirely possible I suppose that those posts where you seem to go on your most obnoxious rants trying to stop any conversation you don’t like happen to be mostly directed towards Snark. If that’s the case, then dude, you really need to force yourself not to get so excited by him – it makes you sound like a giant asshole when you froth at the mouth like that.
Don’t worry, I am one. And will continue to operate as I have in the past. And it’s a pleasure to be a service to you as well.
Your eagerness to service me aside (and, dude, thanks, but no thanks), and on a more serious note, there would literally be no problem here if you’d just stop trying to control every conversation. It’s a dick way to behave on a public forum, AI, and it totally gets up my nose when you spout off as if your opinions were anything other than that, while telling everyone around you to shut their noise holes.
I’m sorry Cranky. Please go ahead and point out where I am trying to control every conversation? Really. Find it. It’s not there. A handful of people I go after who start trolling, I troll back, they get frustrated and stop or ignore me. Life moves forward.
Unless someone like you gets a bug up their butt and starts to discuss it. Which I don’t mind in the least. And I’ve never asked anyone to stop posting. I just point out patterns in behavior and posting history. This is usually enough for them to lose their cool which makes me smile.
Every other thread I’m in I’m entirely civil. Ask TUD, he reads every thread in every article and book marks that he has with +1 votes.
It’s funny, because you’re essentially being a hypocrite. You claim to perceive a wrong I’m committing that upsets you in MY posting history, so now you’re dogging me about it. Doing exactly what you’re accusing me of. Do our two wrongs come together in some misguided orgy of self-pomposity and give birth to a beautiful right?
Or do you just grind your teeth while reading this. Again.
Your behavior on this forum has also been dickish from time to time, depending on the opinion YOU’RE addressing. Again, I feel like you’re just mad that someone else is doing what you think of as your job.
But thanks for checking in. I love to know that you care.
These posts have been very enlightening and educational when it comes to learning the behavior of our regular commenters. đ
One of the only people who I’ve seen who shares a very similar outlook to Star Wars related material as me is TUD. I love that guy. đ
But, of course not everyone is going to share the same opinions or outlook.
Ugh, fine, I’ll explain. He’s imitating you and Snark because you guys tend to hate on TFA every chance you get. And I wouldn’t respond if I were you, wouldn’t want to start a flame war. Let’s just all be nice.
Yes, thanks, TUD, I thought it was obvious what he was doing. Although my presumption was that his whining was more generalized and not directed towards a specific person.

And I STILL want an apprentice, dammit.
I will be your apprentice!
Goooood, GOOOOOOOD! Let the snide condescension FLOW through you!
By the way, I hate everything. Yay, I’m doing it!

I think the ship cemetery or Rey living in the AT-AT as new point of views of them were really cool.
Also I liked the design of Maz Kanata Castle outside.
Yeah but they never did anything interesting with it. Imagine when Finn and Rey are on the run if she’d powered up the AT-AT and it turned out she’d been fixing it. Then it lurched out of the desert, decades of sand pouring out, blasting tie fighters like some wounded mechanical beast whilst they fought their way towards the Falcon
Hehe the chasing of the Falcon by the Tie Fighters in the ship cemetery was enough for me…
I would have also liked to have seen more of that Star Destroyer , having rad Lost Stars and knowing story of how it went down. There would have been some cool relics inside
I have not read that novel.
I believe that you want a fake documentary, like World War II real documentaries… I would like that too!
I don’t think that JJ was that involved with the visual style of the aliens. People often underestimate the influence leaddesigners have on the visual aspect of a movie. I assume the creature department and sfx team stayed the same since it would make no sense to hire a completely new team. The alien with the dinosaur like head could already be seen in TFA. the design of the guards is clearly inspired by Ralp McQ. which was the case in TFA too. but maybe Johnson will allow the creature department to use more CGI which allows a wider range of hapes and sizes and/or he could increase the alien quota overall đ
I agree for the most part. I don’t think JJ is a complete hack – I think he’s decent overall – but I agree the force awakens was lacking in creative world building. The concept artists and creature designers all did an amazing job but the final decisions for what actually ended up in the movie were pretty disappointing. Maz’s castle scene was a such a missed opportunity for what could have been a magical scene. I’m hoping Rian Johnson brings in some more creative originality to expand this beautiful universe. I’m liking these pictures so far
You didn’t throw shade, you just thew the whole goddamn sky.
I thought Finn would have gotten some new clothes since his were sliced up.
True, I bet the jacket was sliced too…
maybe he just got a new one issued to him by the Resistance quartermasters?
I don’t know but that white alien is very similar to Snoke. The big deformed head, tall, and the white robe. I remember some talk that in original concept art Snoke was rockin white robes.
You’re crazy, that guy doesn’t look remotely similar. Doesn’t even have a nose, Snoke practically looks human other than his strange eyes.
Yep, looks more like a Bith (original Cantina band member race) than Snoke
Recall there was a leaked photo of what Snoke looked like, a frail looking old man. Must admit, that white-robed alien has a certain resemblance to it. Perhaps in the flesh and with added CGI this is Snoke.
Probably like two seconds of film. Someone running thru the streets.
Really like the visuals of what little I seen of this film so far compared with the last film and I knew that guardsman outfit looked familiar. I saw the creature on here in a comment before it was taken down that might still be up for those of you who missed it reading this. Corellia/Chandrilla looks more interesting than any of the TFA planets too and I’m glad the one I most liked from that one is back too. Except for AOTC, I pretty much enjoyed all the SW sequels in their respective trilogies and I can’t see this one bucking that trend unless Johnson dies and they get someone like Brett Ratner to rewrite the script and take over.
I LOVE TFA, but yes: this planet looks much more interesting than anything there.
Can’t wait for Mexico! Especially since there are a ton of fans there who can probably get all kind of great stuff.
Awww come off it Snark. Once Episode VIII has come out you’ll find something wrong with it.
I love Jedi and even like Sith and there’s plenty wrong with both. At least we are getting something original this time and by a real writer/dirctor with vision not a corporate shill in it for the money working from someone else’s playbook. Sorry to ruin you’re head canon. đ
You’re not ruining anything of mine mate. I love the fact that you’re calling out on a film that hasn’t even finished filming yet. Keep up the good work.
Nice advice. Shame you don’t follow it yourself. Seeing as how you appear to be visually challenged, There are new images up above that are full of *gasp* original content. So I’m not assuming anything I don’t already know here.
You’re funny, I like you.
Have you ever been happy, like literally ever?
You see who the final three cast list for Han yet? Lol. At least Indy 5 might redeem 4 long as Lucas doesn’t write it.
If people think TFA is that good Johnson’s EpVIII should blow their minds when they see it. He’s a far more competent film maker.
He hasn’t even hit his prime yet either. At this point in his career, Abrams was still stuck in reboot land which he’s still in today while Johnson isn’t afraid to branch out into different non-commercial genres.
“I just that Rey blinked too much, and therefore the movie is terrible and the prequels are better. GIVE ME ATTENTION!”
Come come now. There is no need to throw your prequel trilogy action figures out of your comfy pram. You just wait until your Father comes home with the terrible acting.
I like the world building in Episode VIII. I am looking forward to this movie, December 2017 cannot come soon enough. I’m happy to see new aliens, but I still would like to see some familiar aliens such as Rodians, Twi’leks, Weequays, Ithorians, Togrutas. I love the look of the Star Wars tuxedo.
Anyone else getting an early 80’s EU vibe from the costumes? I like it.
About Finn in that Jacket, didn’t it get hacked at the back by a certain red lightsaber?
So, does he get given a new one, by a certain person who knows he’s really fond of it?
