‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Reveals New Character Posters

Following the tradition from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Lucasfilm has revealed a new set of character posters the Monday after a new episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. They feature the new characters that were introduced to the series in Part III — Captain Tala, played by Indira Varma, the droid NED-B, played on set by Dustin Ceithamer, and Darth Vader, played by Hayden Christensen and voiced by James Earl Jones. Check them out:

These three are now added to a set of character posters that were released last week, and that focused on characters from the first two episodes. They include Obi-Wan Kenobi himself (Ewan McGregor), Reva (Moses Ingram), the Grand Inquisitor (Rupert Friend), the Fifth Brother (Sung Kang), Haja Estree (Kumail Nanjiani), and Princess Leia Organa (Vivien Lyra Blair). You can check them out here too:

An interesting detail we see in the posters is that each one has a different character in front of one of the twin suns from Tatooine, either Darth Vader or Obi-Wan Kenobi. A quick look at our allies’ art reveals that they have Vader in their eye, while the series’ antagonists have Obi-Wan. That is not the case, however, for Tala, Leia, and Reva. Is this a mere coincidence, or are these posters teasing what’s to come in the show?

We haven’t had many of these speculation topics for a while, so it will be fun to theorize about this. The most likely scenario is that the artist that designed them didn’t know anything about the plot of the show, but what if that wasn’t the case? Leia is initially antagonistic towards Obi-Wan, and Tala is introduced as an Imperial officer, so in that sense, having Obi-Wan as their enemy in the poster could make sense. But Reva is clearly after the Jedi Master, so could this be hinting at a twist that is yet to come in the series?

We might see some development in a couple of days, when the new episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi debuts on Disney Plus. Make sure to come back for our written review and tune into TRB Live, on our YouTube channel, on Wednesday night, to watch our friends from The Resistance Broadcast discuss Part IV of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
