EA and Maxis Release a New Overview Trailer for ‘The Sims 4 – Star Wars: Journey to Batuu’

Today, EA, Maxis, and Lucasfilm revealed an exciting new feature overview trailer showcasing gameplay for the upcoming The Sims 4 – Star Wars: Journey to Batuu game pack, which is coming to PC via Origin and Steam, Playstation 4, and Xbox One systems on September 8.

In The Sims 4 – Star Wars: Journey to Batuu, players can create their Sim’s unique Star Wars story in an adventure to the Edge of the Galaxy, inspired by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The new trailer unveils the exciting journey set in the world of Batuu, which offers an entirely new experience for players and their Sims, and features all of the authentic sights and sounds of Star Wars, including iconic characters like Rey and Kylo Ren.

As a new visitor to Batuu, Sims can socialize with locals to understand why Batuu is unlike any other planet, and learn more about the forces fighting for its control. The Resistance, First Order, and scoundrels aim to secure the upper hand of the Black Spire Outpost, and it is up to players and their Sims to determine who will succeed. Sims can choose to support Rey and Vi Moradi as part of the Resistance, pledge allegiance to the First Order under Kylo Ren, or look to earn more credits with Hondo Ohnaka and the scoundrels. As Sims embark on exciting missions, they’ll increase their reputation, unlock iconic artifacts, equipment, new outfits, and critical story missions that will influence changes to the world and tip the balance of power.

In addition, players can create a coveted lightsaber, customize their very own droid sidekick to help on missions, fly iconic starfighter ships, or even try out their hand at romancing a Stormtrooper. When Sims return home, they can even bring back some of these items, like their lightsaber or droid, as well as new artifacts, decor, and recipes inspired by their travels. They can also play a game of sabacc, or host a playful lightsaber training session.

I haven’t spent nearly as much time with The Sims 4 as I wanted to, but I’m a big fan of the series, and the announcement of this content pack last week took me by surprise, so I think I’ll be checking out this Batuu-flavored crossover once it hits next week.
