Hot Toys Announce Chopper and Tease Hera Figures from ‘Ahsoka’

Everyone’s favorite rebel is finally getting the Hot Toys treatment as the Hong Kong manufacturer has announced the latest figure in their Ahsoka line – Chopper! And he wasn’t the only Rebel revealed as they also sneaked in a quick tease of Hera Syndulla in the preview images.

Showcasing the figure on Facebook,Hot Toys wrote:

A beat-up, patched together astromech droid dating back to the Clone Wars, C1-10P — or Chopper —is a reliable droid who has served with Hera Syndulla for decades. Loyal to a fault, with a cranky personality to match his weathered finish, during the age of the Empire, Chopper served the Ghost crew in everything from ship maintenance to undercover missions and combat.

Continuing to expand the Ahsoka collectible series, Hot Toys is pleased to present the 1/6th scale Chopper collectible figure!

The collectible figure is specially crafted with highly detailed mechanical construction body and LED light-up function, amazing paint applications, attachable arms and wheel leg. More detailed accessories including Professor Huyang hologram miniature and a tracking device.

This great little droid is surely going to be a wonderful addition to your Star Wars collection!

Speaking personally, this is the droid I have been waiting for! I really hope that Hot Toys goes all in and gives us the full Rebels line up from Ahsoka (and The Mandalorian if Zeb doesn’t make an appearance in next week’s season finale), but Chopper is the one I have been desperate to see. I just love this little droid and I’m happy to say that he looks every bit as fantastic as Sabine did earlier this month.

The combination of the poseable dome and the interchangeable parts give the figure so much character, and plenty of display options, you can really feel his personality coming through in the images. Besides the interchangeable parts, Chopper is a little light on accessories, but he does come with a few nice touches from Ahsoka including the tracking disc he uses on Corellia and a hologram of Huyang. Having recently received Hot Toys Attack of the Clones R2-D2, which can be seen alongside Chopper in the gallery below, I can safely say that their droids look and feel incredible in hand. There’s just a really satisfying weight to them and they have great shelf presence, especially alongside other characters as they add a nice variety to a display.

Hot Toys description states that Chopper features light up LEDs, so the only things I would say are missing from this release are a base, which all of Hot Toys’ previous R2-D2 releases have also been lacking, and sound effects. The absence of sound effects honestly surprised me since Hot Toys included them on R2-D2 and Chopper’s unique voice is such big part of his character. Hot Toys have been known to make last minute changes and improvements, from adding Rey’s yellow lightsaber for her The Rise of Skywalker figure to completely re-working head sculpts on others, so there’s a chance they may add sound effects if enough fans ask for it, but even without them Chopper is a fantastic looking figure.

And he’s not the only figure they showed. Or at least partially showed. As mentioned at the start of this article, Hot Toys also gave a first glimpse at Hera Syndulla in Chopper’s preview images. Now, this doesn’t mean that Hera is guaranteed, sadly Hot Toys have teased plenty of figures in preview images that ultimately never saw release, but given the popularity of both the Rebels heroes and the Ahsoka series, it seems pretty reasonable to assume Hera will make it to collector’s shelves in the not too distance future.

Chopper can be pre-ordered now at Sideshow Collectibles and other retailers, and is due to release in the second half of 2024.
