‘Young Jedi Adventures’ Previews Shine the Spotlight on Nubs and Introduce New Villain

The buildup for the children’s animated series Young Jedi Adventures continues to grow with two more shorts promoting it. These shorts round out the cast, with one focused on Nubs (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker), who is quickly becoming a fan-favorite character across all ages of the fandom. The other features pilot Nash (Emma Berman) and introduces Taborr Val Dorn (Trey Murphy), a pirate who is set to be the thorn in the side of our young heroes.

To catch up on the first three shorts and for an overview of the series, which is set in the High Republic era, check out our review of them here.

Lucasfilm also released a full trailer for the series, which you can watch below:

The trailer sets up the characters and their mission, which comes straight from Yoda, to explore the galaxy and learn from it. We see a variety of locations as the younglings leave Coruscant for the Jedi academy on Tenoo and then fly around the galaxy in their miniature Vector starfighters to help those in need.

The series also has a big focus on discovering new creatures, with Lys (Juliet Donenfeld) being a big animal lover — the trailer shows that SF-R3 and Cam from the Galaxy of Creatures shorts will be making appearances. Young Jedi Adventures is not without action either, as we see Kai (Jamaal Avery Jr.) ignite his lightsaber to spar with training droids and a new villain.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is set to premiere on Disney Plus and the TV network Disney Junior on May 4, 2023.
