First ‘Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures’ Shorts Introduce the Series and the Jedi Younglings

Disney Junior has released the first three shorts from Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. The first one introduces us to Kai, Lys, and Nubs doing some lightsaber training. The second short gets into some tooka-cat hijinks. Finally, the third sees Yoda teach Kai a valuable lesson. They were released on Disney Junior’s YouTube channel before the whole shorts line-up is released on Disney Plus on April 26. The full series itself will still premiere on May 4.

You can watch all three below:

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is an upcoming animated series set during the High Republic era, taking place at least 100 years before the Skywalker Saga. The series focuses on younglings Kai Brightstar (voiced by Jamaal Avery Jr.), Lys Solay (Juliet Donenfeld), and Nubs (Dee Bradley Baker) during their training on Tenoo. Their buddies Nash (voiced by Emma Berman) and RJ-83 (Jonathan Lipow) are showcased in the second short. Yoda will also be around to watch over the proceedings — he’s voiced by Piotr Michael.

Young Jedi Adventures will be the on-screen debut of the High Republic before The Acolyte serves as the first live-action offering from what is described as the “golden age of the Jedi.” Here is the series’ synopsis:

“Set during The High Republic era, the animated series follows Jedi younglings as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need, and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way.”

And here’s the newly released poster for the show:

As mentioned earlier, these shorts will become available on Disney Plus on April 26, about one week before the series debut on May 4 on the streaming service and Disney Junior. Young Jedi Adventures is executive produced by James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, and Josh Rimes. Michael Olson serves as showrunner and executive producer.

There will be a Young Jedi Adventures screening at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in London, on Saturday, April 8. You can read more about that panel here.
