‘The High Republic: The Battle of Jedha’ First Audio Excerpt and Full Voice Cast Revealed

The new year is just around the corner, and the High Republic is kicking it off in a big way: George Mann’s The Battle of Jedha audiodrama is set for release on January 3.

This is the third Star Wars audiodrama of its ilk to be released since 2019. Like Dooku: Jedi Lost and Tempest Runner before it, The Battle of Jedha will also be voiced by a full cast. StarWars.com has just revealed that line-up of talent, along with the first audio clip.

Here is the full voice cast:

  • Raphael Corkhill as Creighton Sun
  • Kristen Sieh as Aida Forte
  • Christian Barillas as Mesook
  • Jonathan Davis as Piralli
  • Sean Kenin Elias-Reyes as P3-7A
  • James Fouhey as Ensemble
  • Neil Hellegers as Elder Delwin
  • Philip Hernandez as Morton San Tekka
  • Catherine Ho as Silandra Sho
  • David Lee Huynh as Selik
  • Sullivan Jones as Tilson Graf

  • Brandon McInnis as Keth Cerapath
  • Cassandra Morris as Gella Nattai
  • John Pirkis as The Herald
  • Salli Saffioti as Ambassador Cerox
  • Marc Thompson as Mytion and Kradon
  • Shannon Tyo as Marda Ro

Make sure you head over to StarWars.com to listen to the brief audio clip from the beginning of the audiodrama. Interestingly, the structure of the drama appears to follow in the footsteps of Light of the Jedi‘s opening chapters, which depicted the terror of the Great Disaster. Chapter 1 of Light of the Jedi read “3 hours until impact” instead of using a conventional chapter title. The opening chapter for The Battle of Jedha begins with:

Time until the battle begins: 72 hours.

The High Republic: The Battle of Jedha cover

The High Republic: Battle of Jedha will pick up after the events of Convergence, which saw the “Forever War” between the planets of Eiram and E’ronoh near its conclusion. Now, Jedi Master Creighton Sun and Jedi Knight Aida Forte go to Jedha to help put an end to the fighting once and for all. However, Jedha has quickly become a boiling pot moments away from exploding.

Marvel’s The High Republic comic series has shown Jedha might not be the place to begin the galaxy anew in the midst of some chaos amongst its various Force factions. Meanwhile, after the events of Path of Deceit, the dangerous and deadly Path of the Open Hand are looming over the planet as well. Everything is about to coalesce inside the words of The Battle of Jedha.

The wait is almost over, and you can pre-order The Battle of Jedha now before January 3 wherever you listen to audiobooks. For paper lovers, there will also be a hardcover script edition releasing on February 14, 2023.
