Merry Christmas and Happy New Year From the Star Wars News Net Team

As we look back on 2022 and try to select our highlight moments, we at Star Wars News Net have realized how far we’ve come in the past few months. A lot has happened this year in a galaxy far, far away, and we would like to thank all of you for taking this ride with us.

A year ago today, we were getting ready for The Book of Boba Fett, we all thought Obi-Wan Kenobi would finally be the series to unite all Star Wars fans, and Andor was an afterthought. The name Damon Lindelof sounded vaguely familiar to just a small portion of the Star Wars fandom, and you couldn’t put the names Jon Watts and Jude Law in the same sentence even if you tried to. And perhaps most importantly, Star Wars Celebration seemed like a memory from a distant past.

As we now look into the future, though, it’s funny to think about where we’ll be one year from now. With The Bad Batch premiering in just a few days, we’ll start an intense year for Star Wars animation, which besides the adventures of Clone Force 99 will also feature a new batch of episodes from the anthology series Star Wars: Visions and the first Star Wars show aimed at pre-schoolers in Young Jedi Adventures. In terms of live-action content, we’ve been told to expect brand-new and exciting adventures from Din Djarin and Grogu when The Mandalorian season 3 drops on March 1, the live-action reunion of the Ghost crew in the upcoming Ahsoka series, and a new trip to wild space alongside four kids with Skeleton Crew, of which we know very little yet.

The publishing side is also showing no signs of slowing down, with Phase 2 of The High Republic initiative unfolding before our eyes, and plenty of exciting stories coming in comic-book form. Star Wars Celebration London is just a little over three months away now, as crazy as that may seem, and the new Jedi: Survivor game is coming out in two and a half months.

On behalf of the entire team at Star Wars News Net, thank you very much for sharing this adventure with us, and we wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It means a great deal to us all, and we would be honored if you would join us as we start a new adventure in the new year. We are welcoming new writers and have just kicked off an exciting new series on our YouTube channel of weekly news recaps, the first of many ideas we’d like to explore there in the next few months.

May the Force be with you!

Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as movies from Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
