New ‘Andor’ Featurette Includes Footage From This Week’s Episode

A new featurette from the new Star Wars series Andor has been released by IGN. In addition to showing footage from the series, both from past and future episodes, it also includes narration by Diego Luna, explaining Cassian’s arc at this point in the series.

As part of the new footage, we can see a quick exchange between Cassian and Andy Serkis’ Kino Loy that hints at the latter begrudgingly accepting to be a part of the prison break that is inevitably coming in the next episode.

Luna said:

“This is a different representation of the Empire. The control and the lack of freedom… Cassian finds himself in the wrong place in the wrong moment. This is the first moment when he understands what Luthen saw in Cassian. That he’s capable of putting a team together, that he’s willing to sacrifice to feel part of something bigger. Nothing’s gonna stop him.”

With this week’s episode, we conclude the third multiple-episode arc of the series, and head directly into the two-part finale. It will likely feature the prison escape that they’ve been hinting at for a couple of episodes, and could even factor in the ship with the two lightsaber-esque blades that we’ve seen in a few TV spots. After this, season 1 will end with episodes 11 and 12.

A second and final season will begin shooting in the U.K. on November 21st. It will be written by the same team, with the addition of Tom Bissell. Moreover, apparently we’ll be visiting Yavin IV in the second season. Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios will be the directors of season 2.

Look forward to our written review of Andor episode 10 on Wednesday morning ET.
