New ‘LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’ Trailer Focuses on the Villains

The latest trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has turned to the Dark Side.

A new advertisement for the ambitious video game dropped tonight as part of GamesRadar’s Future Game Show 2022 presentation. The latest ad has placed a greater emphasis on the villains of the LEGO Star Wars franchise than previous trailers for the game, serving as a showcase for the likes of bad guys like Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Count Dooku, and Kylo Ren – with the ad also confirming that his very shirtless iteration, glimpsed briefly in The Last Jedi, is a playable version of the character.

We get clearer looks at some of the big setpieces of the movies adapted into LEGO form, such as Yoda and the Emperor’s duel in the Coruscant Senate, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader’s duel on the first Death Star, and both of Rey and Kylo Ren’s duels in the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. There’s also room for plenty of comedic takes on existing scenes, with an interesting interpretation of what Order 67 may look like. Check out the trailer below:

As it stands, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be the first title to comprehensively adapt the events of all nine Star Wars Skywalker Saga movies (The Phantom MenaceAttack of the ClonesRevenge of the SithA New HopeThe Empire Strikes BackReturn of the JediThe Force AwakensThe Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker), featuring a cast of nearly 400 characters, over 100 vehicles, and more than 25 key locations throughout the galaxy far, far away in a playable format. Players will be able to explore 45 playable missions and have tons of free-roam adventures that take place in a series of open world environments.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released on April 5, 2022, on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 video game consoles, along with Microsoft Windows.
