Riz Ahmed tells you what actor can take down Darth Vader.

Riz Ahmed

Riz Ahmed, who plays Bodhi Rook in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, recently answered questions with People Movies about his introduction to the world of Star Wars at an early age.

“I just remember kind of surreal flicker book of imagery, you know Jabba the Hutt and a beautiful lady in a gold bikini, Ewoks and AT-AT’s – so it formed some of my earliest memories,” Ahmed says. “It’s just the images and the iconic situations and worlds that really stayed with me and really spurred on my own imagination.”

Ahmed also was asked what cast member would have the best chance taking down Darth Vader. The actor  hilariously answered with a ‘Rogue One’ co-star.

“I don’t want to mess with Forest Whitaker,” he says. “Do you?”

You can see the entire People Q&A video below.

Ewan McGregor shares some Star Wars: The Phantom Menace memories.

Qui-Gon And Obi-Wan

Ewan McGregor, currently out promoting his new movie “American Pastoral” (opening on Friday), which is the actor’s first directorial debut, found a few moments to chat about his work on the “Star Wars” prequels.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, McGregor shared his most embarrassing moment during the filming of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

“I remember going there, meeting George, and being allowed to read the script,” McGregor said, referring to his first visit to the north London studio where they’d shoot “Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.” “I had to read it in the producer’s office — like, literally, being almost locked in with the script, so that it doesn’t get leaked — and then being shown around the sets with George. There was a great big submarine thing that I end up in with Liam [Neeson] and Jar Jar Binks.  And I remember looking at this huge polystyrene thing [that had been made to look like a] submarine, and there was a cockpit. And I looked at it and I went, ‘Will we go under?’ He looked at me and went, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Will we go underwater with it?’ And he looked at me like I was insane. He said, ‘None of that is real, you know.’ And I went, ‘Oh. Yeah.’”

He also shared his thoughts on working with Frank Oz and Yoda as a puppet.

“I worked with Yoda, like it was on set,” he said. “Frank Oz I think was operating him with his team of people… It was amazing. You’d be really in the moment with Yoda and then they would go cut and all the puppeteers would stop… And then by episode two and three, he was, and R2D2 was the same way. It was computer-generated. It was a shame not to be sort of working with the real thing.”

TFA’s Kylo Ren reacts to the Final ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer.

Cool Quote:

“You know what? How did the Empire blow this? They had it all…They had that thing…what is that?…the “Chicken Walkers”…they had Grandfather…Hope?!…It wasn’t hope! It was a critical design flaw that you were lucky enough to find out about before a team of welders could get out there and fix it!”

What a stupid theory. it’s clear to me that she is Snoke, AKA the reincarnation of Obi-Wan.

I always love it when Pablo lets loose little nuggets of information. Sure it’s nothing we can’t know from being uber fans, but sometimes I learn a little something here and there.

I thought Luke’s lightsaber was green in ROTJ because George wanted to make sure people knew it was a new lightsaber, and not his original one?

These two reasons don’t exclude each other.

The main reason was b/c the sky was blue and made it hard to see. He might have given the other reason also.

RE: Jyn Erso’s relation to Rey –
Come on, Pablo, ya don’t have to be a jerk about it.

Naturally people are going to be speculating about who Rey’s mother is. The timeline of Rogue One and Jyn’s age would make her around Luke’s age. Add to that the fact that she’s the main character, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect she has some other ties to the Star Wars galaxy. Then of course you do have her slightly similar appearance (though I think Jyn’s mom actually looks a lot more like Rey, which kind of reinforced the theory for me).

So of course there’s going to be people that will run with any similarity in appearance (Cassian being Biggs’ father was ridiculous and kind of reaching, I thought). But I don’t think the Rey/Jyn theory is one of those examples.

But thank you, Pablo, for debunking this theory so we can spend our time and energy on more productive theories, like the possibility that, hey, who said her father had to be strong in the Force? What if Leia was her mother? That could explain in part her split with Han. In any case, at least now we know, so that’s one off the list.

Not really off the list. He’s lying.
