New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer to Air July 15th on ABC

rogue one 06Our next glimpse of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story may not be that far away. It seems that MSW has confirmation that a new trailer for ‘Rogue One’ will be airing on network TV. Read on for more.

The guys over at MakingStarWars have uncovered an interesting image of a television listing for next week. The image reveals that the network television premiere of the documentary ‘Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey will air on ABC July 15th’, and will include a world premiere three-minute trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Another listing can be seen here.

SWNN can confirm that ABC.com has listed the following via its NETWORK SCHEDULE page:

Of course, Disney will most likely first roll out the trailer for fans who attend Star Wars Celebration Europe, London, which runs from July 15 to July 17. If they follow the same pattern as they did with the debut of ‘The Force Awakens’ trailer at the Celebration Anaheim panel, it’s possible that most of us will have seen it by the time it hits network TV. Shortly after last year’s Celebration panel, the trailer went online immediately following the event.

Vader and Leia

So what should we expect to see from this new Rogue One trailer?

Recently, Lucasfilm revealed details about the upcoming Star Wars spin-off, most notably an important appearance from a certain Sith Lord. In a recent EW.com article, we got confirmation that James Earl Jones would reprise his iconic role as Darth Vader in the upcoming spin-off film. So my question is, will we see a small glimpse of Vader in this new trailer? I guess we will find out soon enough!

SWNN will be covering nearly every aspect of the Celebration next week, bringing you non-stop coverage of breaking news as it happens. In the meantime, enjoy the original ROGUE ONE teaser trailer, which has now been viewed nearly 39 million times on the official Star Wars YouTube channel.

I think we could have all guessed that a new Rogue One trailer would be coming out around Star Wars Celebration, but it’s good to have official word on it now

    Fallen Sith Lord?

    I guess he’s a fallen Jedi.

And now’s the part where they troll us where they say “we didn’t say it was a new trailer”.

      My thoughts precisely.

Although, in fairness, I wouldn’t exactly be disappointed. The What Will You Become trailer is worth watching over and over. =3

I would have been happy if they’d left it at that one teaser right up until release. I mean, we know the overall plot, so why not just leave absolutely as much as possible out of sight until the thing hits theaters?

Maybe they’ll surprise us all…maybe these are the guys who FAIL to steal the Death Star plans, setting up the sequel: Rogue One 2?

Name the last blockbuster than had a teaser trailer and nothing else before it’s release? I don’t believe you’re that stupid to think that was ever a possibility. And who is this “we” you speak of? Most people still think this is Episode 8. Disney isn’t making this movie to the 1% of audiences that slurp up everything Star Wars, all day every day. I know being a cynical crank is a nice little bit you play for yourself online but you can’t be this dumb.

You have some basic comprehension issues apparently. I said I would LIKE it, it would be so cool to see LFL hold off as much as possible. However I never said I EXPECT it. If you can’t grapple with the difference between those things, I can’t help you, partner.

I got what you were saying, bitchpants. You would like something to happen that almost literally never does. I asked you a question in return.

Except the part where this is a 3 minute trailer and the teaser was barely a minute and a half, yeah….

I’m finding more and more that I am very excited for this film. How lucky are we that we get a new Star Wars movie each year for the foreseeable future? It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan!

The last thing I would ever want is for the lead actor in a Star Wars film to go on a talk show and mention that this is the launch of Lucasfilm phase 3…(Marvel’s current issues) and then the audience laughs cause no one cares or knows what that is… I think that the history of what Star Wars *IS* goes much further back than the Marvel films have cause Star Wars has more “credibility.” One a year could be bad, or really good. I’m hoping for REALLY good!

Right? I mean, there are already so many goddamn Marvel movies I can neither keep up, nor care when one comes out because they’ve just become constant background noise. I don’t want to see that happen to Star Wars.

I hope that TIE strikers are in the trailer. And maybe a little bit of Vader too.

I’m going to take a guess and say trailer footage ends, fade to black, Vader breathing and titles. No need to actually show him to whip people into a frenzy.

Really hope we get it immediately online first. I’m playing a gig that Friday night and our set literally starts when the ABC special happens. Though I wouldn’t mind killing it on stage and immediately afterward being rewarded with a new trailer that I know my band mates and I will be watching over and over again instead of paying attention to the other groups haha
