Daisy Ridley shares a beautiful photo from the set of Episode VIII

Kerry Ireland

Director Rian Johnson and Mark Hamill recently shared a few photos hinting the wrap-up phase of filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII. Now Daisy Ridley chimes in with a photo on social media, showing a beautiful shot from the Ireland shoot from earlier in the year.

Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley took to Instagram on Monday evening to share a photo with the fans of Star Wars. We will assume this is one of the several filming locations the production crew used in Ireland that depics the planet Ahch-To, seen at the end of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, where Rey meets Luke. The set photo isn’t exactly new but its still a very nice shot that most haven’t seen.

Daisy Ridley also shared a caption:

“If [Rian Johnson] can share it, so can I.”

Check it out:

Director of Star Wars: Episode VIII’s Rian Johnson also took to Instagram with a photo relating to the film.

Lots of Ach-To… I’m afraid it’ll be all outdoors film.

Even better, Ahch-To might have the only outdoor nature scenes in the whole film. The rest seems to be taking place indoors or in cities.

I’m worried about Trevorrow, too, but Abrams has already disappointed me. I have enough confidence that Johnson will be original enough. I just hope he doesn’t do weird just to be weird. I prefer good. 😉

Or that he doesn’t do weird just to be original, which is my biggest fear.

My worry is not that Trevorrow will completely botch the film, I mean he’s a technically competent director, just that it’s going to end up…bland, dumb, and by the numbers. I mean, so are Abrams’ films, but at least he handles actors really well, keeps things moving, and can get some fun, engaging performances out of his cast. Trevorrow so far seems to produce mostly safe, paint-by-numbers, okay but forgettable movies that don’t really let any of his cast shine.

You found that film let Chris Pratt shine? Well, you’re entitled to your opinion, but I felt like he was kind of hobbled in that film.

Also, can I tell you of a crazy dream that I had which is probably a scene for Episode IX?

That’s not really true. remember, the Jakku village attack and the Starkiller Base forest were indoor locations. We don’t know what is being filmed on the soundstages.

They both started off indoors, but the action took place outdoors. Everything was either burned or blown up.

It’s stupid when you think about it.

Kylo Ren didn’t know where the missing map piece was, but he had the First Order mindlessly destroy everything first.

Hey, why is my brain bleeding? o_0

No, sorry: they were filmed INDOORS but made to look OUTDOORS. So there could be similar locations now and we don’t know b/c we have no access to the soundstages.

Yep! I actually liked most of the closed locations, like station and ship interiors, castles, cantinas, caves etc.

You don’t think we’ll at least get a scene or two on the Falcon? Plus, I imagine most of the First Order scenes would be indoors, just like the Empire.

I don’t need to see more Falcon, other locations however, yes.

No indication so far that Ridley and Boyega have any scene together. Will Rey and Finn not meet at all in Episode 8 ?

Well, the trinity are split up into two groups that spend the whole middle section of ESB, and most of act three separated, so…not a worry?

I wish Poe had joined Rey and Finn on Jakku in TFA. He should’ve flown the Falcon instead of her. Funny how Abrams rehashed ANH, but didn’t bother to bring the new trio together!

Just because you haven’t seen them on location doesn’t mean they didn’t film anything at Pinewood.

      Holy cow. Offspring confirmed! xD
