The countdown to Star Wars Celebration Europe has BEGUN….

For those who are lucky enough to attend this spectacular fan event, navigating the show floor will definitely play a big part of your time at Celebration. So, whether you’re following a digital version of the floor plan on your phone or using the old fashioned paper way to get around, make sure you plot a course to the ART SHOW located on LEVEL 1 South.

The Star Wars Celebration Art Show brings together talented artists from around the world—each having passed a panel of Lucasfilm judges to earn their place in the show. Each artist has crafted an exclusive Star Wars art print to be sold in limited numbers throughout the weekend. These amazing, limited edition prints highlight a diverse range of styles and Star Wars subjects, but all underscore the passion and artistry of their creators.

Hundreds of artists are considered every year for the Star Wars Celebration Art Show, in the end Lucasfilm and the panel of judges select a few lucky ones to create exclusive new illustrations for the event. The artists selected this year include: Alex Buechel, Brandon Kenney, Brian DeGuire, Brian Miller, Brian Rood, Chris Reiff, Christian Waggoner, Crystal Fontan, Drew Baker, Erik Maell, Jason Palmer, Jason Christman, Jeff Carlisle, Jerry Vanderstelt, Joe Corroney, Kaela Croft, Karen Hallion, Kayla Woodside, Malcolm Tween, Matt Busch, Robert Hendrickson, Russell Walks and Tsuneo Sanda.

Here are a few art pieces that show different styles and various Star Wars subjects. My personal favorite is the Graveyard of Giants by Malcolm Tween. What is your favorite piece?

If Rey and Ren are brother and sister, this poster is taking Star Wars back into some weird territory.

Why? It’s a scene in TFA pretty much, did you not see the movie?

Damn, are you always like this? There is a world of difference between the way the scene was shot and the way this image was rendered.

So this art work is a crime and should not happen. I get it.

Vanderstelt and Maell should do the poster for VIII if the guy who did the one for Celebration can’t do it.
Also Luke NEEDS to be on it this time.

23 pieces of art, 13 related to TFA and only 3 feature Finn and just barely. Given his significance to the franchise he should be scaled larger and in proportion to Rey, not have a tiny face shot while she has a full body shot. Finn is the co-lead and male lead of this trilogy, where are his solo pictures? Oh yea, all the “winning” artists selected were white with the exception of one non-black PoC. #WhereIsFinn?
