Well, judging by the James Bond one they did they also show other things on it, not just the movies. Things like the various cartoon shows, making of docs and so on……and based on the timing you can bet that it will be littered with featurettes and promos for Force Awakens.

Very nice promo. We had a dedicated Star wars Channel here in South Africa
during September it featured all 6 movies, the Clone Wars series, Rebels Season 1 as well as all the documentaries like Empire of Dreams. We had a lot fun, I hope you enjoy it too. = )

Oh, you mean Return of the Jedi. I thought you meant that wanted a quote from A Jedi, not from “Jedi” the movie.

just for a moment assume that there are other countries in the world as well as the country you come from (as odd as that may seem to you).. now assume that those others country’s have satellite or cable TV providers that have their own movie channels, and you have your answer

No, ’cause remember that Britain only has four channels, innit! 😉

I love it when Americans are so insular….and then wonder why they aren’t viewed more favourably abroad!

yes, but if you’re American, there is no abroad.. just ‘Merica!…. so ultimately, it doesn’t matter!

Yeah, but what about all those countries ripe for bombing and all the evil Muslamic terraristicals?

Oh. Yeah. Just close the borders.

            And guns.

            More. Guns. 🙂

Yeah, but something like Britain’s compulsive preoccupation and infatuation with all things American isn’t a sound alternative, either. No one respects that kind of obsequious behavior.

Hopefully, TheOriginalDrew#Baerod lives comfortable between these two extremes.

Yes, I would agree…..if that infatuation actually existed….

Oh, it exists. It may not be acknowledged — much like Britain’s own affinity for insularity — but it exists.

I only mentioned Britain above because it was the most obvious example.

I think America envy is much more of a thing in the minds of Americans than it is in the rest of the world – and least in the rest of the civlised world. It’s a concept I’ve only ever heard advanced by Americans. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone in Europe and the developed world who truly envies Americans. I sure as hell don’t. I think sometimes some Americans confuse envy with the fact that your corporations and society have the economic clout to dominate our markets and export your brands and products to the rest of the western world (and beyond). If think maybe that is being mistaken for our desire to be like you….and then there is quite simply the inherent delusion of superiority that some Americans have, trotted out jingoistic catchphrases centered around liberty and freedom as i these concepts don’t exist elsewhere in the world.

Anyhow, this is probably a line of discussion not worth going down as it’ll only lead to an argument.

I’m sure some Americans may confuse their cultural imperialism with envy, and I’m just as sure that some Brits confuse their aggressive inferiority complex for righteousness.

My point is that both nations — as well as the rest of the world — suffer from an overabundance of cunts, we two included.

I think we’re in agreement there.

No, we aren’t. I have no inferiority complex in respect of America. I’d much rather be British, and half a dozen other nationalities, than American and I very much doubt that would ever change. As much as I have enjoyed my travels in the US, it is well down my list of envies. Unfortunately, it is the loud, vulgar, ignorant and simplistic attitudes of too many of your countrymen (which seems to be getting worse all the time, especially over the past decade) that has long since put me off. Shame, because as a little kid, I idolised America as a magical land from the movies. A place where dreams came true. Oh, how that was crushed when I find out about the reality.

America is superior in terms of size, money and military might…but very little else. I enjoy all the freedoms, amenities and wealth as any American does, and I am sure as hell more well traveled and well versed in the world than most Americans. I wouldn’t swap that for anything.

I didn’t intend for that to read as you, personally, have an inferiority complex. That’s why I wrote “some Brits.” My mistake if that wasn’t clear.

By the way, I experienced the exact same flaws in Britain during my travels there. And in every other country. That’s my point.

No one else here has said that America was superior, or that Britain doesn’t enjoy the same freedoms, amenities, etc., as America. That was you. I’d never make that claim.

Hell, I enjoyed Britain as much as anywhere. But I’m not blind to the fact that, overall, it’s just as xenophobic, racist, and cretinous as America and the rest of the world.

I mean, why even argue that? We’re all fucked.

PS: This whole conversation is the epitome of first world problems and privilege. We should all be ashamed.
