2020 by the way. That is when the last spin off movie comes out.

        He’s not scoring the spinoffs.

JW is only doing the Episode films. The spin-offs are by other composers. Rogue One will be composed by Alexandre Desplat

He hasn’t been officially confirmed for Ep VIII and IX yet. If able I’m sure he’d do them though.

John Williams only does proper Star Wars films. If Williams does the score, it can be considered canon, in my books.

This set is not complete set like previous OT box set. Substantial lack of score from OT is disturbing.

I find it still funny that people complain about even the soundtrack releases..

is criticism limited to cinema releases?

When you get hateful comments on every single product they release that’s not criticism

At least for me, it’s disappointing they aren’t taking the opportunity to release the PT in a more complete form, like the Indiana Jones box set in 2008.

agreed! slap the name Star Wars on something and some people will not only buy it, but complain when someone else criticizes it. Its NOTHING new, save your money and they will get the point, and maybe offer us something NEW

I have preordered the score for TFA! 😀 Can’t wait to listen to what will become as iconic a soundtrack as the rest of John Williams works! 🙂

a very disappointing set. nothing new. it’s all been out before in this form.

Yes it’s all been out before, but that’s the point isn’t it? It’s a re-release of high quality Star Wars vinyl for people who don’t want to hunt for the original prints. I wouldn’t expect a box set to have new music, it’s for people who don’t have these. Just curious, would you have wanted in this set to make it less disappointing?

so what’s new if you already have the cds?

nothing. it’s all been available multiple times before. if you are a vinyl junkie I’d still recommend tracking down original vinyl copies as they would be cheaper!

What I want is a complete, 12 disc anthology of every minute of recorded Star Wars music, with a full remaster of the original 3 scores. That would be an “ultimate edition” in my book.

I also want the Prequel scores done the way the SE scores for the OT were handled back in 1997. No hack job editing that ravaged the soundtracks in the movie.
