I wouldn’t call Chewie a sidekick, he might rip your arms out of their sockets. ( Wookiees are known to do that. )… or so I’ve heard.

I think R2-D2, C3-PO and Chewie are not simple companions. They are protagonists in all respect: R2-D2 and C3-PO are the main drivers of the plot, and Chewie… well he’s Chewie!

He’s a bounty hunter, not a side kick.

I knew it would be between R2 or Chewie. Going in, I thought maybe R2 had the edge because he’s a sidekick to 2 characters… C3PO and Luke Skywalker.
Ultimately, I really love Chewbacca. He’s very loyal, and he’s a true warrior. Chewbacca can never be replaced. R2 can always be rebuilt.

Why is Jar Jar on the list. It’s the worst character ever.
But okay Jar Jar fits PT like a glove

I never thought Jar Jar was bad. He added some laughter to Star Wars, which it needed.

Yes, Star Wars needed laughter. But not poop and fart jokes.

          1. That stuff is minimal

          2. Humor is a generational thing

          3. You don’t have to agree with this list. The starwars.com editorial staff is a diverse one, everyone being from different backgrounds and ages. Not everyone on there will like the same aspects and everyone’s rankings will be different.

          4. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, get over yourself.

Yeah, ok, although I think it’s iffy calling him, or chopper for that matter, a side-kick.

Seeing that you insist on being an asshole,
lets play a game of ” fuck off ” and I’ll even let you can go first.

Some people here need to watch The Clone Wars and Rebels. And don’t tell me that you’re too adult to watch animated series because just by liking Star Wars you’re admitting to liking something that is meant for youth and young adults.

Clone Wars is great, particularly the story touched
upon the secret of the force like Yoda story in lost mission.

I heard That Jar Jar is going to be in TFA using practical effects, so for all you CGI Jar Jar haters will this make Jar Jar acceptable.

Boba was sidekick to jango fett/ dad when he was a lad
I think he would have made a good addition to the list. Especially during the obi wan fight and space chase

While I see your point, I view it more as a father/son and mentor/apprentice relationship between them.

Do you refer to your children as your sidekicks? Boba was basically Jango’s son.
