It was awesome at the Return of the Jedi screening Wednesday night people booed the Hayden force ghost. Disney please remove this mistake from the film! I personally want Vaders “no” yell removed from the film. I want the option to be able to watch the original trilogy where I don’t have to reminded the prequels exist, or there’s a connection to them!

I’m not telling any of you what you should be thinking or disapproving as you are at me! I’m just offering my opinion as you are, but I’m not attacking yours as you are mine. Why don’t you just.,. Well…. Not watch them. I think that quite easy. No need for any crying then just throw them out in the bin and never speak of them again. So easy. Maybe it’s time to get a grip.

I don’t own the prequels, but the only official good picture quality copy of the originals has the Hayden force ghost, I want that removed so I can watch the films in high quality without having to be reminded that the prequels even exist when I watch them!

But there’s nothing stopping you from making your own movies.

What? don’t watch Ep VI because he’s bothered by Hayden Christensen’s mug?
The Hayden-ghost issue is a VALID COMPLAINT, it’s something that is disruptive to the ENDING of the Saga.
The ending was good before that last one.
The Yub-nub song being changed is okay, the celebration montage was cool. WHY OH WHY COULDN’T THEY JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT?!
I’m with Dan on this one:
I’ll have Sebastien Shaw as Anakin, thank you very much!

And that’s fine…. The problem comes from the fact that you people simply never shut up about your hatred of The Prequels….. and do you know hoe irritating that is to someone who actually enjoys them to hear the same thing over… and over…. and over again. Its 2015, any way you can maybe be grateful we have a new movie coming out and move forward, or would you like to continue to let the world know how much you hated The Prequels, for the rest of your life? Seriously, get over it………

I grew up with the prequels and had (admittedly still have) fun watching them, but they are VERY flawed films. That cannot be overstated. All of the special editions keep adding, bit by bit, similar flaws into the older films.

I feel cheated that I never got to see the original, unaltered, version of Star Wars. While I like flashy lightsaber fights as much as the next person, I view the two trilogies as entirely separate, connected in name only. They have entirely different feels and styles, so it works better that way for me. Creating forced overlap like the young Annie force ghost ruins this.

I’m so sick of this thing, any news you get you have a Prequel-haters argument. Can you understand that’s annoying, boring and unuseful?
They won’t change things just because a herd of nostalgic people like two or three movies out of six.
Unfortunately (I’m a full-saga fan) these people will just keep yelling over that. Can you stop it? On one side, prequel-haters won’t gain anything by booing the finale to ep. 6. If I were the celebration host, I was going to have them leaving the room even though that is the ending. Yelling around won’t change things. Face it. I personally would prefer having you hating star wars then claiming to be part of the fandom, but that’s my personal thought. You know, neither of prequels or originals are perfect. Still, we like them. (No, don’t come up with the stupid sentence “Yeah, but prequels are worse.” The Greenscreen failed in episode VI on jabba’s sail barge sucks. Still I like the movie, just face that original trilogy isn’t that much so perfect as you claim.)
So, summing up, Prequel-haters: Stop trolling around. We’ve got it that you hate the prequels, but yelling around won’t do anything.

We’re not nostalgic, personally for me the disappointment was the bad acting, dialogue and story telling in the prequel films. I personally want the prequel films to be remade to coincide with the well made original trilogy films and what going to come next. Star Wars deserves it! When watching the original films you can feel the love that was put into them, were as with the prequels they are sloppy and lazy in terms of story telling/writing. Disney needs to reboot the prequels so They can be good movies. We don’t dislike the prequels because we are stuck in our nostalgia for the original trilogy, it’s because the prequels are bad story telling. You want to call us haters, we just see they are bad films while you blindly support them without thinking. You don’t have to like them because they have name Star Wars on it, you are a allowed to think for yourselves.

Lol, I guess you stopped reading near the point I said the word “Nostalgic”… congrats, you exactly reacted as I’ve foreseen! Exactly, where do you see this whole “Bad storytelling thing your kind always comes up with?
I said prequels aren’t perfect. There are a few empty holes (Most now covered by the clone wars, in truth only dooku becoming sith is what we havent seen yet), there are a few awkward moments between anakin and padme, truly CGI didn’t work always, and Hayden acted quite badly (I must also say that I first seen the prequels in italian, where the voice actor for anakin did a way better job), but none of this is a Story-telling issue…
Another thing… You claim to be the one who think and we the ones who are stupid consumists accepting everything we get, but I assure you that’s wrong, at least with me. I think I would have liked the prequels even if they’re not labeled “Star wars”. There are a lot of elements that made me like, primarily how they did some work in outlining a structure to the galaxy. If we base ourselves on the ot we get a very limited view of the star wars galaxy. Prequels show us how jedi looked like, coruscant (Lucas wanted that also for the ot, but couldn’t achieve yet) and these fantomatic clone wars’s explanation of why they’re called so. Also shows up that Yoda is not just a very wise creature, but also quite a warrior. So… I don’t feel like having taken anything they showed me. I actually can’t stand a few EU things now non-canon such as yuuzhan wongs.

Star Wars fans have been vocal for a long time about their disappointment with the prequels, and judging by the direction the new movies are going, it looks like some of the higher ups at Lucasfilm have taken notice 🙂

A lot of people appreciated TFA, Rouge one, Rebels are deeply rooted with OT. But it seems these Disney Star Wars movies are lack of new element which PT tried to bring about, at least.

I personally have never complained about the new elements bright forth in the prequel movies, it was the bad dialogue and lazy story telling that I have had issue with.

I am not the biggest fan of the PT, but there are some very good pieces within them. I do have an issue with TPM as it really does contradict the OT. A way to learn to love the PT is by watching star wars in the Machete order – IV, V, II, III, VI and miss out TPM and use II and III as flash backs once the reveal of Vader being Daddy.

Hopefully the PT Haters can learn to enjoy the PT and stop whining! ha ha

You know….you don’t have to be a prequel hater, to want them to take Hayden out as the force ghost at the end of ROTJ. It’s simple….the logic seems that the ghost shows up as how they looked when they “died”…and conventional wisdom was that Anakin was destroyed when he became Vader…so he shows up as he looked before he became Vader. However, this is flawed logic…since Luke lured him back from the dark side and Anakin saved Luke just before he died. This would allow for a very strong argument that I believe few would disagree with, that he finally actually died…he had gone full circle back to being Anakin….and it’s completely understandable that his force ghost shows up as the older Anakin that actually physically died.

Ok….sorted….now put back the original force ghost, please! 🙂 If you can throw out over 30 years of canon of TONS of books, comics, etc…wipe out characters, story lines, and such that (admittedly we were always told COULD happen) people have invested year of their lives to following…then you can listen to a VERY reasonable argument and take 10 minutes, and put back the original Anakin force ghost.

    Oh….and….well…..Han shot first. 😛

It’s explained in the clone wars why we’re supposed to see younger anakin, and also why we see only yoda, obi and anakin. A video from the clone wars: lost missions Q & A deals with that…

Can I say something off topic.

I`m really confused about the photo at the top of the page. Its over a decade old I know that and I`ve seen the clip many times. But if it was taken right at the end of ROTJ. Presumably the empire was in total control of the planet up until very recently before that shot was taken, if not still in partial control in some areas. How would the empire tolerate a jedi temple in the background, like its always been there part of the skyline. Would it not have been burned to the ground, and not even be in the picture. I don`t know maybe I missed something.

I haven’t yet reaad it, but apparently in the Novel Tarkin it is explained why the jedi temple is there…. I’ll just spoil you that it will be reused by someone… 😉

I perfectly understand the people that hate the prequels. It are all very valid points.
What I don’t like are the emotions, especially against George Lucas.

I don’t like death magnetic from Metallica, still I love there older albums. It are artists and sometimes you hit the jackpot and sometimes you miss.

I think we just have to agree to disagree and show the bashers , either side, our sympathie. They are hurt somehow, and stuck with emotions that they can not controll. Strongly disagreeing only leads to more emotions. So instead of that I’ll be the first to say, and I hope everyone will follow:

“I know you are hurt, I feel for you man. I think it sucks to not enjoy Starwars the way I do, I really hope that Disney at some point releases the original Cut of the OT without the special editions etc. I really do, because then you can enjoy Starwars again..Hugs”

i think all Starwars fans love the ot. And only some Star Wars fans love the pt. so it makes sense for disney to capture 100% of fans and make the St more like the ot. It’s just logical.

What I would like before I start watching any ot film is a “check box film set up screen” to select scenes and versions I want. So if I want to watch unretouched 1977 edition I can. If I want to watch return of the jedi and listen to lapti nek, have the shaw force ghost bust see the all planet fire works but with yubnub then I can click the boxes and watch away. That would be nice because everyone has a few things they like. The special edition empire is in my opinion a little nicer than the original.

I don’t get the PT hate. I’ve always loved the prequels because they are so different from the originals. Episodes I, II, and III are basically the story of how one guy, Palpatine, single-handedly brought down a galactic civilization and took over as Emperor right under the nose of the Jedi. It’s The Godfather, but on a scale that boggles the mind. I suppose the “hatred” is only natural because Lucas was trying to do something new and a lot of people want more of the same.

I agree that the plot and outline of anakins fall to the dark side and palpetines sneakery make for a good story. What people dislike about the prequils is that they were examples of poor filmmaking, bad dialogue and cinematography and acting and directing. What people love about the ot is they were excellently crafted films with excellent ideas. It’s just a craftsmanship thing (craftspersonship?) I want to boast again “starwars are the best films ever and everything about them rocks” and find very few people who disagree about the fact they are much better than anything else out at that time. As a kid it was so easy for everyone to admit starwars ot was just better made than any other scifi. With the prequils I can’t say that. And so many people don’t think that. Hence the ot hate. People can just tell what is good.
