Hmm, I didn’t feel it flowed very well, as though it were two different scenarios welded together – the first half sluggish and the second flashy but flimsy. We have the slow and not terribly exciting scenes of Ezra’s earlier childhood and the voices of his parents … ghostly recollections without imagery to support them never make for fun television, especially for Star Wars which is a visual medium. The Empire Day celebrations and subsequent dogfight-pursuit was action rather than story (a checklist of characters, toyetic vehicles and SW tropes) and contrasted roughly with the first half of the episode, then was halted abruptly with the ‘To Be Continued’ tag, just as the episode was beginning to become exciting and gain traction. Cliffhangers are great, very Flash Gordonesque, but I felt this cliffhanger came just as things were getting exciting, rather than following a good dose of WOWZAH to make it impressive as a piece in its own right?
I hate to say this but I’m finding rebels pretty boring …
Unless Ezra can sense Force Ghosts (which should not be happening because was’t Qui Gon the first to figure out how to return to communicate with the living?) does this mean Ezra’s parents are alive?
Well, I know the EU doesn’t count anymore but there have been plenty of times in the EU where there were force ghosts and even Sith force ghosts.
they set up the Death Star in this episode…how cool is that?!?!? this was the best episode so far. We are officially on a running 5 year clock, already making the events of A NEW HOPE seem that much more important. Wow! Connective tissue is amazing
i never seen a TIE with S-foils before…

the reason this one wasn’t HD was because it was the only version I could find this week but a HD version should be out by now
