star wars

The Official Youtube Channel for Star Wars just uploaded a video featuring Warwick Davis and teased that he will appear in Episode 7….

Congrats to Warwick! He truly deserves that. We never had doubts that Kathleen and JJ will ask Warwick to return to the galaxy far, far away!

No… Warwick’s confirmed. He’s played a variety of characters over the course of a single film before, so him playing something other than an Ewok isn’t beyond the imagination.

Not in the least. He played a spectator at the pod race in episode 1 as well as some other extras throughout the prequels. No one should be worrying about the appearance of Ewoks in Episode VII because of Warwick’s involvement. He’s a great actor and an asset to the star wars saga.

He played 3 characters in TPM, but he wasn’t in either of the other two prequel movies.

I started to panic until I read the comments that he played other characters besides an Ewok. Good for him then! Just no Ewoks and no Gungans! There has to be something new to hate on in the next trilogy.

Haha yeah there IS going to be something in this new trilogy that gets hated on like the ewoks and the gungans haha! But what will it be?? Cant wait to find out lol

Well of course there is because people who hate will need to find something to hate because that is their passion…to hate.

Makes sense to me, he will again be an ewok and guide the “grave robber” to the site of Darth Vaders funeral pyre on Endor. It fits perfectly

Perhaps Wicket is quickly dispatched once the Graverobber has found what he is looking for.

Now that would be SHOCKING, hm? The SECOND dead Ewok on record?

IIRC, there were some ewok deaths on the Ewoks telefilms. But I can be wrong

It would make perfect sense that he would be returning to the role of Wicket after yesterday’s artwork that that went online. Surely to get Vaders burnt helmet there would have to be a return to Endor.

THe Ewoks could inform the rebels that Vaders grave has been desecrated by a shadowy figure.

Am I the only one who would love to see Wiket as an aged and grizzled Rebel general of some sought ?

      Yes…
I’m sure there’ll be plenty of aged and grizzled rebels to go around in the ST. Plus, how could they put an over-sized teddy bear in a general’s uniform and expect people to take the movie seriously?

      LOL

Now I want to see that just because of the rage that would happen.

People take their Ewok/Gungun hate to strange, almost obsessive, levels.

im alone in liking the ewoks … that proud race who were invaded by the empire and spent years setting traps and carefully planning how to take back their planet , only to have it nearly ruinned by the stuppid rebels jump starting the whole thing …… they rip the heads off stormtroopers and use them for drums , thats all kinds of cool …. not to mention almost eating intruders after roasting them alive.

Agreed on that one. They most likely ate the stormtroopers.

He *could* play an Ewok again—maybe even Wicket. After all, if the grave robber scene is in the movie, it must necessarily take place on Endor. And if Endor is in the movie…

  • October 16, 2014 at 11:17 pm

Maybe the “grave” robbing scene will be at the beginning of the movie and the “shadowy” figure will force Wicket to show him where the funeral pyre was. Then after showing him and the figure picks up Vader’s helmet he force chokes Wicket. Great way to show how evil this character is and it starts off the movie with a scene that will get many emotionally invested.

I thought hamsters only lived 3-5 years and the move was 30 years after ROTJ. Wicket should be long dead.

YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!! Warwick’s one of those dudes I want to see in EVERY Star Wars film. He can play so many wonderful characters, in both supporting and cameo roles, besides an Ewok.

To be honest, I was kinda hoping he’d play the ST’s badass alien sidekick, something like Chewie meets Rocket Raccoon.

I know its a long shot putting ewoks in this movie, but if it had to be done I think it could be done well. Sillouettes of ewoks in the trees. That weird ewok chatter. Not as cudley and cute, but like a real race of furry sentient creatures. Yea I know, fan boys gonna hate.

He is a gifted actor, and will be returning. After all Ewoks are in my treatment of episode 7, in which the Disney company bought from me.

Whops I guess I shouldn’t have mentioned anything.

Wicket is a great and underrated character, the other Ewoks were a bit too much, but Wicket was cool.
But why does he need to play an ewok?
Is it really easier for Warwick Davis to be a bear-like creature that doesn’t exist?
Why can’t he play a human?
Now i could totally see Wicket as a bored, travelling, battle-hardened adventurer who hangs out with Chewbacca, (like seriously, the two should have a spin-off together), and for that Davis is the man. But the guy’s an actor, there are other things he can bring to the series.

Bear in mind at this stage of filming, we’re basically talking about one scene or sequence at most. So really he could be doing anything.

This is a direct sequel to ROTJ…i don’t see why the Ewok’s would not be in it. I have never understood the hatred for the Ewok’s. I will bet anything that all of you Ewok haters enjoyed them when you were kids.I do not think it is fair to put them in the Gungan class of gayness. Wicket was an awesome character. If you don’t think Endor or the Ewok’s are going to make an appearence in this movie…then you are pretty dumb. this race defeated the Empire…let’s forget all about them? give me a break. I doubt some dude is just going to show up like “hey looky what i found!” as he hold’s up VAder’s helmet..i have no doubt that there will be a scene on Endor as he grabs Vader’s helmet from the pyre.Luke will probably go to Endor for clues and track Wicket down….hate all you want…i really hope it happens…kiss my Ewok loving behind. I am also willing to bet that this lightsaber and hand they find is also Darth Vader’s hand and Saber that fell down the shaft when luke chopped it off.and NOT lukes saber as everyone keeps saying. now that we know about the Helmet…it only makes sense that this mechanical hand and saber they find is vaders…after all..Lukes mechanical hand was never severed. this cyborg guy probably replaces his hand with vaders…
