Holy Bantha….even the Stormtroopers look like they are ready for the galactic wide apocalyptic total war…end time feeling indeed.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:03 am

Damn! Great concept art. Greater than great hehe. So, now let me say my thoughts out loud. The girl protagonist is daisy riley. And the old mechanical man might just be Max Von Sydow.
But i keep wondering, who will play the villain???? I thought Adam Driver but I saw him in a set picture getting out of an X-Wing.

    • October 15, 2014 at 7:41 pm

I am convinced that Andy Serkis is the main bad cyborg guy, and Driver is his appretice/errand boy.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:06 am

all looks cool. like mad max in space. very nice. could not resist looking. so we have good design, nice style, good real feeling, probably good music, probably good sound effects, just need story, acting, directing, and visual effects to come together.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:06 am

the force is strong with this. arrgghh what are they doing to us, we have to wait a whole year!!!!!

    • October 15, 2014 at 5:57 pm

      …. plus 2 whole months. 0_o

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:14 am

war ravaged worlds. feels good. I always felt lukes cybernetic hand was a device to show how he was becoming like vader and could also become more machine than man – doing that to any other characters seems like it takes away from that journey he may have had.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:17 am

Who do you think will play the villain?

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:24 am

Max von Sydow, Gwendoline Christie and Pip Anderson

      • October 15, 2014 at 10:35 am

Hamill has turned to the darkside..

        • October 15, 2014 at 10:50 am

na doubt it. woulda been a cool story to do when hamill was in his 30’s or early 40’s. now i can only really see a obi-wan qui-gon role for him

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:55 am

Lupita will be the big bad mechanical thing, AD a human villain, GC a sorta-villain and MVD wont be up to much good. i think.

      • October 16, 2014 at 12:26 am

Look at the cyborgs hand. It has female posture!

    • October 16, 2014 at 5:30 am

      Lead villains: Driver and Sydow

Secondary villains (aka “the muscle”): Christie, Pip Anderson

“Hidden” villain to be featured more in 8 & 9: Nyong’o

    • October 16, 2014 at 7:15 pm

      Mark Hamill!!!

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:45 am

The only thing that ever made Luke go to the dark side was his hate that was introduced when Vader mentioned turning Leia in ROTJ.
I still think Daisy is not his daughter. She looks like Han’s daughter.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:47 am

um the bad dude looks really youthful? i reckon its Lupita.

I know some people assumed initially it was AD, but from what we’ve seen and heard, he will be a physical presence, and my gut is telling me that this mechanical being wont have a before/after, just the after.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:54 am

Without giving anything away, I think these concept arts are really great. They really capture that SW feel for me and that’s what’s going to make this a fantastic SW movie. I could almost hear John Williams music playing while looking at some of them 🙂

On the “bad guy”: I hope he’s more mysterious than scary. I don’t think being too scary fits SW that well.

    • October 15, 2014 at 1:38 pm

I heard John Williams music too…especially in the AtAt ones.

      • October 16, 2014 at 2:35 am

For “Binary Sunset” with the tiny little human figure (surely Daisy’s character) sitting on top of the fallen AT-AT, I’m all but certain that we will hear exactly the same score as when Luke looks at the setting suns in the original movie. She will look at the suns, and we will have the same score. And it that moment we will know that this is HER journey beginning, just like Luke’s once did!

I feel pretty certain that “Kira” (or whatever) is the protagonist of the Sequel Trilogy. This is entirely proper; finally the series may atone for the truly dysmal gender balance of the Original Trilogy. (Even a non-female like myself now finds it ludicrous that Leia is very nearly the only woman in the universe.)

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:57 am

its looking less likely, but despite positive/negative things thought about the EU (yeah i get it, its dead), i would still have loved a twins arc from the trilogy (girl goes good, dude goes evil). remain hopeful.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:58 am

i think it would be interesting for a good character to turn bad. when i was a kid, there was always a rumor that the only way luke could master the force was to learn the dark side too, and then turn back from it – but the danger was no one had turned back from it – until vader did, and he died doing so.

    • October 15, 2014 at 11:09 am

arent you describing anakin/vader in the first place?

      • October 15, 2014 at 1:48 pm

I guess – but when I was at school it was back in the 80’s, so we didn’t know much about anakin then.

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:44 am

I really dont want luke to be the bad guy.. but when I think about it.. Hes the only one that knows where vaders helmet is.. he would have had that fire somewhere discreet when he burned his body.. he was the only witness

    • October 16, 2014 at 4:02 am

if lupita is the bad guy im not watching thia bullshit. i dont wanna see a bunch of femas hdong lightsabers and a so called bad ass endong of lupita vs daisy….lame sounds like a disney kids flick.ill bomb the thater if his i the case

    • October 16, 2014 at 8:14 pm

Luke may know the exact spot, but it was slightly more common knowledge that Vader was on the death star where he presumably died. If the villain turns out to be a sith fanatic, I believe he would have gone to the ruin of the DS2 and saw Endor, believing maybe the remains of the powerful Dark Armor to have drifted there he finds the funeral pyre and realizes it must have been Luke who killed Vader and then burned the remains. Plus its concept art so it may be more for effect then be an actual scene (though in this case I think it will be)

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:54 am

;amazing images;Luke could be part-hero/part villain – remember all that stuff we keep hearing about there being no clear-cut boundaries in SW7 – look at Drivers character, there`s rumours he pilots an w-wing,and Boyega a tie-fighter?

  • October 15, 2014 at 12:24 pm

    Just 1 word ” WoW !!!”

  • October 15, 2014 at 12:24 pm

    AWESOME !!! !!! !!!

  • October 15, 2014 at 12:33 pm

I must say I got a misty eyed ( with joy ) when i saw the concept art…

    My fave concept pics are:

    1. The Downed AT-AT lair / home.
    2. The Burned Vader helmet
    3. Storm troopers
    4. The Max von Sydow Cyborg
    5. New speeders

  • October 15, 2014 at 12:40 pm

I got a “BIT misty eyed” LOL, I’m so happy I forgot how to type = P … and left my username out of the last comment = P

  • October 15, 2014 at 12:45 pm

Thanks for posting the images, it made my day.

  • October 15, 2014 at 12:51 pm

What a way to start the day, my mind is definitely boggled atm. Love the concept of the ATAT home, TIE hangar, Knight Trooper (Christie?) Skellig Michael and Greenwood, oh! and Throne room. Happy I will only have to wait two years between trilogy films this time around.
BTW: That art of the girl being held by mysterious man looks more like Billie Lourde than Daisy.

    • October 15, 2014 at 9:27 pm

lol… holy crap.. YES SHE DOES! wow…. very peculiar hmmmm

  • October 15, 2014 at 1:02 pm

If you look at the image where the stormtroopers are looking at a TIE fighter….. that’s lens flare right? 😛

Don’t give in to the Dark Side, JJ!

in all seriousness I hope he doesn’t overuse it

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:34 pm

A little bit of lens flare would be cool, but I agree not too much

      • October 15, 2014 at 11:10 pm

The best use of lens flare I’ve ever seen in a Star Wars film was the one behind the Falcon in IV when Han saves Luke’s life at the Death Star.

        • October 16, 2014 at 12:42 am

but was this a lens flare?

  • October 15, 2014 at 1:05 pm

Those concept arts are beyond epic, unreal. Ever since 2005 I was hoping Lucas would utter the words “there are gonna be another trilogy” and that Hamill, Ford etc. would return and Kasdan would write the script. This happening is still surreal for me, absolutely surreal.

    • October 15, 2014 at 7:15 pm

I’ve been waiting for this since 1983.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:34 am

My breath is taken away.. Just, WOW!!

    • October 16, 2014 at 3:09 am

I never wanted to see a prequel trilogy I always wanted to see the sequels

  • October 15, 2014 at 1:22 pm

I know this has probably been answered 100 times but I want to ask here. Where did the rumour come from that the lightsaber Daisy’s character finds is Anakin and Luke’s original blue one? And that it was found in the desert?

I can see from the concept art that it is clearly meant to be that lightsaber and echoes the scene in ANH between Luke and Obi Wan.

The main villain in the art is called grave robber, Luke’s lost lightsaber is found, Vader’s helmet resurfaces for an unknown reason, old locations are being revisited. Seems to me like the grave robber and heroes are racing against each other to find Luke by delving into his past.

  • October 15, 2014 at 1:51 pm

Tell that to boadicea (though being dead she wont hear you.)

  • October 15, 2014 at 1:57 pm

In that close-up of the grave robber, the mouth looks feminine.

    • October 17, 2014 at 3:44 am

  • October 15, 2014 at 2:08 pm

Heavy emphasis on cybernetics. The whole “clean” feel of the PT seems to have vanished. Kinda reminds me of a Terminator Salvation feel in a way.

  • October 15, 2014 at 2:39 pm

    Male Chauvinist Gamorrean!

  • October 15, 2014 at 3:01 pm

    To tim snow:

    1. Jedi Knights aren’t based of medieval knights, they’re based on Samurai.

    2. Women are as good as men in any profession they might choose.

    3. Stop trolling you’re not funny.

    • October 15, 2014 at 9:14 pm

      Regarding women as Jedi Knights:

I’ve been into martial arts since I was a kid, and I’ve noticed that usually women choose different styles than men. For example there are way more men in Muay Thai, but Wing Chun otoh seems to be dominated by women (no wonder since this particular kungfu style was invented by a women).

Wouldn’t it be fun if Daisy used a different fighting style than her male counterparts? Less strenght and more agility, using her enemy’s strength against him.

      • October 16, 2014 at 1:22 am

You guys (including the sexist Tim Snow guy) can argue all you want about how a female lead is a bad thing, but having loved the EU books where Jaina Solo is the heroine, I am getting more and more excited by the day. It has always been my dream, and my sister’s dream, to finally see a Star Wars with a girl lead.

There are millions of female star wars fans out there. They are going to be very pleased if what I think is happening is happening.

    • October 15, 2014 at 11:15 pm

      @ Tim Snow:

What does it feel like to be a dying breed?

      • October 16, 2014 at 1:19 am

        @tim snow,

take a look at that “Kira” drawing (the full-body costume one.) OK? Remove Kira’s head and photoshop Luke’s head onto it. What do you think of this character’s strength now? I say this because Luke had a rather small physical frame, and it wasn’t that much different from this Kira drawing. The argument that testosterone is the key to everything wonderful and powerful is a very poor one, and I’m afraid to say that you are misinformed.

    • October 15, 2014 at 11:57 pm

Tim Snow, First, It’s a fantasy film. Relax. Second Star Wars doesn’t seem to focus on patriarchal societies. None seem to take prevalence to the stories in a galaxy far, far, away. Fourth, the force transcends physical abilities “Judge me by my size do you”. Fifth, we’ve established a precedent for many female Jedi in the previous films (especially the prequels). Sixth, you’re a complete douchebag and I’m happy to dismantle your insipid moronic arguments.

      • October 16, 2014 at 12:28 am

        @tim snow

You are such an uneducated dork. The reason there were so few women samurai and knights was because of the cultural system of the day which deprived women of doing anything except cooking and cleaning. I’m sure many women wanted to fight for their countries and why those who did, did so undercover (think: Joan of Arc). According to your flawed reasoning, every man will always beat every woman in a game of arm-wrestling.

        • October 16, 2014 at 1:01 am

Tim Snow, I am having a wonderful time copying and pasting every single one of your comments so far on this message board. I am taking a cultural anthropology class at my university, with an emphasis on gender discrimination, and I will use your comments as examples as what a self-assuming, biased individual sounds like.

So by all means, keep talking.

          • October 16, 2014 at 1:08 am

            @timsnow 00:47

So, according to you then, countless civilizations in human history fell from power during battle because…….?

Oh, that’s right, because they suddenly switched to female warriors ha ha ha ha, it must be one of history’s less-talked-about secrets. you moron.

Anyways, back to Star Wars, while the presence of a non-penis-equipped lead protagonist may offend some people here, I kinda think it is a nice change. This really goes in line with the recent article on this website about Lucas’ original storyline of a female version of Luke Skywalker. I also really like her home as the fallen AT-AT walker. The whole scenery around it doesn’t really look like Tatooine, but more like a western town. I almost expect to see cowboys riding out on their horses.

        • October 16, 2014 at 8:36 pm

          @Tim Snow

The reason why those women were Samurai was because no one told them that they couldn’t be, and so meant that they could become these amazing warriors. These stupid stereotypes are the things that put people boxes and stop people from achieving. Besides, girls have some testosterone in their bodies too, just like boys have some estrogen in their bodies.

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:05 am

      2. really? do you believe it really?

give me a rugalar women, I want to see if she can beat me in a fair fight.

2.(in fighting) “No” just look at the different anatomy and don’t use the force will make up for it bullshit.

      • October 16, 2014 at 1:10 am

But size means nothing, as stated by Yoda. “Kira” will have the Force in her. She will beat you or any other man in a fight if the Force is strong with her.

      • October 16, 2014 at 3:47 am

Most Star Wars characters shot at each other with blasters – the great equalizer. Star Wars isn’t about muscles. Women will do just fine in this galaxy.

I hope VII brings about some much needed social evolution.

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:17 am

Then let’s hope that your “Super Daisy” will not suck.
I will laugh my ass off in the Cinema if she jumps and Flips as a apprentice like Jedi Master Yoda did in the PT.
      They killed his character.
Shit like this is the nail in the coffin.

  • October 15, 2014 at 3:28 pm

Umm.. Too much cybernetics. Also, too much rust and trash. Sure, the OT was less clean and had more “dirty” environments than the PT, but these concepts are just overdoing it!! Fair enough, they’re still just “concepts”. I hope they are very early drafts.

    • October 15, 2014 at 4:47 pm

      What’re you babbling about?
      This is awesome :D!!

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:08 am

      You’re right!

    • October 16, 2014 at 5:26 pm

      guy draw like my shit-
check mmy art and concept work

  • October 15, 2014 at 3:39 pm

Is Daisy Ridley left handed in real life? In the “Daisy Ridley & Dark Knight” image she is holding her lightsabre in her left hand – if she’s actually left handed, maybe it’s a mirror image of the actual concept art?

  • October 15, 2014 at 3:59 pm

The burned helmet is a photo, right? Not a drawing/painting?

    • October 15, 2014 at 7:13 pm

It would make an awesome teaser poster.

  • October 15, 2014 at 4:04 pm

Love how Luke is still a mystery. None of these pics have the original cast, maybe they do take a back seat for the first act of the film. (I think these concepts are only from the first part of the film)

  • October 15, 2014 at 4:06 pm

A couple of photos don’t seem to be conceptual art for me. Just photos from a frame of the film, the environment very real.
    I’m wet man…

  • October 15, 2014 at 4:18 pm

The scene of “Kira” coming into presumably Luke’s hut is clearly signed as Christian Alzmann. His signature is identical here:

  • October 15, 2014 at 4:37 pm

Confirmation on the bar rumor and a certain perceived Sith Lord. Glad people can finally support the talk and walk the walk.

  • October 15, 2014 at 4:52 pm

The falcon schematics have the circle radar dish – so some of these drawings are off a little from what we’ve seen in other pics.

  • October 15, 2014 at 5:03 pm

Visually I’m completely sold. This looks much better than I had hoped the movie would look. Insanely awesome, actually. Now all that’s left is pray they’re telling a great story. And I would really love to see a teaser in December. 😉

  • October 15, 2014 at 5:17 pm

Well if anyone was in need of a spark to rekindle their interest in EpVII, I’m sure this did the trick. These pictures put almost all of the recent rumors in perspective: cyborg Sith antagonist, the wrecked AT-AT converted into a humble abode, chrome-troopers, etc.
All of this concept art is evidence that the grittiness of the OT and the sleek, “classy” PT style will find a content middle-ground in the ST.
Stand aside, Rebels, here’s the real McQuarrie influence in action!

  • October 15, 2014 at 5:20 pm

I really want Luke to become evil…that would be the ultimate turn in cinema history…hell it would piss off so many fans LOL

  • October 15, 2014 at 5:31 pm

My theory: Boyega is a stormtrooper who defects. Lupita Nyongo is the chrome trooper looking for him and Boyega’s sister. Christie is the grave robber and obsessed with the sith. Driver is a rebel pilot, the new triogy’s wedge, only with more lines.

  • October 15, 2014 at 5:44 pm

Grave Robber is Palpatine, Just look its him all cyborged up after his fall in the death star if maul could make so could Palpatine.

    • October 15, 2014 at 5:54 pm

Yeah, cause that’s even less likely than Maul surviving the fall in EpI. There’s absolutely no way Abrams would be stupid enough to bring back the Emperor in any way. There are far better stories to be told than stretching out an old haggard sith lord’s story 30 years after everything was all said and done. His return would render the efforts of the rebel alliance in the OT as completely pointless.

      • October 15, 2014 at 6:17 pm

        My name is Khan!

        • October 16, 2014 at 7:37 pm

Star Trek Into Darkness is a good movie, shut your little mouth.

    • October 15, 2014 at 8:03 pm

The art that was done holding the Mask looks sentimental towards the legacy of Vader not a hatful loathing of the mask.
Palpatine would not go get the mask of Vader or demand it be brought to him.
He hates Vader for turning on him, he would not have survived, however if he did he wouldnt be holding the mask that to him would be like holding someone’s respirator/medical device.

  • October 15, 2014 at 6:19 pm

Okay, here’s a theory I get from two of the images. You have Daisy’s character being used as a human shield by “the grave robber” and another image of Daisy’s character fighting a battle alongside(?) of “the grave robber”. Note, the “grave robber’s” hand positioned as though he is using force powers on Daisy’s character. Perhaps mind controlling? Perhaps, it is at Skellig Michael, where “the grave robber” has finally found the place Luke has secluded himself and is using Daisy’s character as an advantage over Luke.

Am I crazy or am I on to something? Or has someone already pointed this out?

    • October 15, 2014 at 8:12 pm

I don’t think shes being used as a human shield. If you look at the picture again it seems as if they’re looking in a mirror; you can see a shoulder on the left side foreground.
Also, the expression on her face is one of horror. like shes just learned a terrible truth that he is whispering in her ear…

  • October 15, 2014 at 6:21 pm

I’ve got it! The cyborg/graverobber is Starkiller.

  • October 15, 2014 at 6:40 pm

I love the look of the movie based on the art. I do think this is really early art though. Maybe even before JJ was on the film. The reason I say that is the look of the x-wings. If you notice all of the x-wings in the art are the old style not what we have seen in the video and the other pics. I think we are looking at early concept art that may or may not make it into the film.

Did anyone else notice the Daisy smuggler art her holster looks just like Han’s? Is this a clue that she is Han’s daughter?

Is that the Tantive IV? Is that Anakin’s ship from the clone wars?

It looks to me like the the “Dark Knight” is trying to force choke Daisy.

Theory: Daisy is in a disguise through out the movie. Think Padme in Ep 1 and Leia in Ep VI. It’s a pretty common in the SW universe for someone to be in disguise. Padme in Ep 1. Anakin in ep II, Han and Luke in Ep IV, and Leia in Ep VI. Lando to a degree in Ep V.

Can you imagine if we would have seen Concept art of Luke and Han in Stormtrooper gear before ep iv? We would have lost our minds and speculation would have been all over the place.

Great art but in the end it doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the movie.

  • October 15, 2014 at 6:44 pm

    These make great wallpapers

  • October 15, 2014 at 6:49 pm

    You, Sir, are an idiot.

    • October 15, 2014 at 7:32 pm

      Case in point.

      • October 15, 2014 at 7:48 pm

Let’s just take one part of your moronic rant of entitlement: you assert that having a female lead is evidence of the structuralist binary opposition ‘man bad / woman good’ This presumably means that the male lead of the first six films must conversely represent ‘woman bad / man good’. Do you see how pathetic that argument is?

        • October 15, 2014 at 8:12 pm

Good one! This dude obviously hated his mom!

  • October 15, 2014 at 6:56 pm

I’m worry about the relics aspect: not because of the plot but because of that rumor about Luke’s hand floating through space in the first shot. I hope it’s not true and we see a ship just like every other episode.

  • October 15, 2014 at 7:10 pm

Feels like people just want to believe in their own imagination Luke was twisted to the Dark Side and is this cyborg here, when its abundantly clear he isn’t. I wouldn’t who the cyborg is either but the answer is either Adam Driver who is secretly bionic or yet another unknown actor or CGI character like General Greivous. Which doesn’t sound plausible since the actor would have to be shot against a green screen with the other characters and have stand-in already picked out. I think we’ve already ruled out Andy Serkis.

  • October 15, 2014 at 7:11 pm

just a thought.. could the planet daisy’s character lives on be a thawed out hoth ? so she’s actually living inthe remains from the battle in Empire

    • October 15, 2014 at 8:22 pm

Or all of the trees of Endor eroded and blew away, now the Ewoks are like Jawas.

    • October 16, 2014 at 11:03 am

I like this thought, but not sure how it would be explained without it feeling dumb.

  • October 15, 2014 at 7:51 pm

Actually rumor has it that the cyborg is Ezra from Rebels. The arc of Rebels will be that Ezra turns to the darkside and kills Kanan and goes into hiding during the OT after suffering horrific injuries. He is obsessed with the Sith and Vader specifically. Then he surfaces after the Return of the Jedi to become the new baddy. You can already tell in Rebels that he has darkside tendencies and they will be fully realized at the end of the series.

    • October 15, 2014 at 8:01 pm

Sounds like wampa fodder to me

    • October 15, 2014 at 8:16 pm

Reading too much Kip Duron stories while falling asleep with Rebels on the tele.

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:23 am

This is possible….Ezra is obsessed with helmets.

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:30 am

You may be onto something here… Notice that Ezra has a distinct resemblance to Adam Driver. There have been set pics leaked where you can make out Driver wearing an orange x-wing pilot jumpsuit. It will also be brilliant marketing on Disney’s part to do a reverse “Clone Wars” with the “Rebels” series. As the Clone Wars explained a lot of the back story of the prequels after they were released, maybe Rebels can show the back story of the sequels before they come out. This way the viewers would have so much more of an emotional attachment to the characters and can jump right into the story. Not saying this is the case but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were

      • October 16, 2014 at 7:31 am

No. Ezra would be roughly the same age as Han Solo, which Driver is not. Obviously.

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:53 pm

Ezra was designed by the creators for children to identify with and learn right from wrong.
Like not stealing. Ezra will not end up evil just like Ahsoka Tano did not end up and will not fall to evil, perhaps turned back but not this Monstross.

  • October 15, 2014 at 7:52 pm

If it isn’t racist remarks its now chauvinistic remarks. I guess Star Wars went right over your head.

  • October 15, 2014 at 8:14 pm

I still have a doubt about all this. Looks really excellent the photos. These people are really intelligent and rich with previous experience about leaks. They could easily create a level of misdirection and false leads and still film the real stuff at the same time. Lessons learned sort of thing from previous films.

    • October 15, 2014 at 8:23 pm

What? Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, it gets better?

  • October 15, 2014 at 8:26 pm

Despite the fact that we’re getting to the point in the production where I’m beginning to avoid spoilers, I actually took a quick peek at all of those newly leaked production art images.

Holy Hoozenwangers!! I really REALLY hope that the story and script for Episode 7 are as cool as these images make it seem like they must be. ;^)

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:05 pm

How do you stop yourself from looking?!?!
I am powerless against these leaks!

      • October 15, 2014 at 10:45 pm

Embrace the Dark Side, give into your feelings and desires and gaze at their wicked coolness.

      • October 15, 2014 at 11:22 pm

How do I resist the temptation to peek at the spoilers?

All I have to do is remember reading the ESB novel a few weeks before the movie came out, and never getting that pure hit, “Holy SHIT!!” moment of hearing Vader for the first time telling Luke, “No… I am your father!”

Ever since then, I have done my best to avoid spoilers for movies I really want to see, particularly Star Wars movies.

I’m not always as successful at doing that as I’d like to be, but still. ;^)

        • October 16, 2014 at 12:06 am

I will keep that in mind! Do or do not… !

  • October 15, 2014 at 8:33 pm

Both genders will play good and bad guys. And you’re an idiot.

  • October 15, 2014 at 8:40 pm

Holy Christ. Holy Sith. That’s AMAZING! The Villains, the Stormtroopers, the AT-AT destroyed, the Interdictor crashed in the sand. The pods, my goodness. That’s really amazing.

But, I really hope Luke it’s not the Cyborg and the villain. That’s a dumb idea. I repeat what I commented a while in many sites: Luke has passed the test of the Dark Side, he is the last Jedi and have to rebuild the Order and “Pass what he learned”.

And I hate myself because I can’t stop reading these spoilers/speculations/rumors.

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:01 pm

I doubt it’s Luke, but if it is he doesn’t have to a sith. He could just be battle hardened. Maybe he has done somethings he struggles with. And keeps his fathers mask to remind him it’s not the path he wants to take.

  • October 15, 2014 at 8:56 pm

Anyone noticed the grim reaper “mask guy” looks similar to the emperor in the hologram first appearance before he was played by Ian McDiarmid. Hes got those same strange eyes that look like clamshells.
Even if not, theres still a great many similarity.
What if the emperor in the first appearance turns out to be another character? Maybe he was not the emperor. Or the emperor rose again

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:03 pm

The millinium falcon in the hanger pic really showed me that they’re trying to balance at least a little between the two trilogies… Nice to see.

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:14 pm

In the scene where the Grave Robber is holding the girl, is that supposed to be Daisy Ridley’s character? Or another female? In all the other concept art, Daisy’s character has dark hair, but in this scene the girl has light hair, possibly blonde.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:02 am

It could be Daisy Ridley’s character. Some of the concept art is dated as early as July 2013, the blonde woman could have been an earlier iteration before anyone was cast, with the one in the snow made later on after she was cast.

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:22 pm

I hope the villain is a woman under that mask. For once, good god I’m over the bad “guy” thing. If not, then daisy better be the lead heroine. Buncha white dudes just really gonna rub me the wrong way. It’s the 21st century, Disney. Here’s to hoping. The art looks absolutely amazing.

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:34 pm

I’m sure you have LOTS of female friends… I call douchebaggery on you… I guess you don’t get enough attention on FB… very sad

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:39 pm

    Just a theory I have !

I’m thinking the cyborg villain pics are smoke screens , I think the cyborg villain does not exsist and the reality is the cyborg is a stand in for the real villains image wich I think will be Luke in natural form !

I think JJ and his team wanted to be so secretive about Luke’s turn to the Darkside that they were unwilling to even commit the idea to concept art ! Hence the invention of this creepy looking cyborg dude !

I could be wrong ! But right now I’m thinking we should all be replacing the cyborg dude with Luke in our minds eye ………..

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:00 pm

I really think the only person that makes sense… the only person who we know could and should be THAT obsessed with Darth Vader is Luke himself. I immediately saw Luke when I saw the concept of the cyborg holding Vader’s helmet with sadness/compassion/obsession. The only thing keeping me from committing to that idea is Mark Hamill’s beard and long hair. It’s very possible that these are such early concept pics that they didn’t incorporate Hamill’s beard into it. It also could be that Cyborg Luke isn’t a villain but more gray, in between character. A conflicted (possibly dark) jedi but not with the sith/empire. A cybernetic hermit obsessed with his father rather than with the dark side of the force.

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:42 pm

    Sigh…. Douchebag #2

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:47 pm

I’m going to freeze myself for a year and 2 months and you unfreze me, do you hear me Butters?!

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:49 pm

Damn, just I or anyone else thinks this guy looks like Vader without the helmet?

The Interdictor crashed behind them. I wonder what planet is this. Reminds me Saleucami.
    (after some minutes…….)
Oh wait, I’m wrong. It’s, indeed, Tatooine.
Look at the condenser or whatever it is. It’s the same of the Owen’s farm. And have you noticed the X-Wing there? It seems there was some super mega battle over Tatooine.
And that creature is the same seen in Abu Dhabi set.

Wow, this one scares me. Not because the guy is freaking, but because that guy looks an Emperor and that cave or room looks like the Skelling Island. Will Luke be the bad guy?

Wow, ahhahaha. I though this was some kind of Sith ship. But it’s a lightsaber ‘-‘, a double one.

Hummmm, is that what I’m thinking it is? A SELKATH bartender?

Awesome, reminds me the Vjun Castle, lair of Vader in Old EU. And… there’s smoke there. Some battle happened.

Knight Trooper? Or should I say Imperial Knight?

Well, that’s a hell of a day. The first “teaser” of Star Wars 7!

    • October 16, 2014 at 3:10 am

Just fyi…that is two single light sabers 🙂

  • October 15, 2014 at 9:54 pm

I wonder if that friendly looking little alien creature is what Andy Serkis is playing in mo-cap? Also, anyone else upset to see Chewy may have lost an arm? Poor guy.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:03 pm

I don’t think Luke is the cyborg. I mean, why did he grow the awesome beard? (Which he still has by the way) I don’t see room for a beard in the cyborg mask. I’m loving the photos. It’s better than anything else I’ve seen by far. Honestly, I think that Rebels will be more of a tie-in with the OT than the ST. I think the pay off for that show will be in seeing how the events that take place set up the OT. Maybe in one of the final episodes we will see the crew of the Ghost steal the death star plans, which results in the deaths of those characters (at least Kanan and Ezra). This would make Luke the last Jedi for real. Maybe Hera gets captured and sold to Jabba and joins his dancing girls (jk). I said all that to say that I think these characters in the concept art are all completely new characters (aside from Chewy).

    • October 17, 2014 at 3:24 pm

Your beard, you will not need it. 😉

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:08 pm

Try telling all the women in the army and marine corps they are “not warriors.” They will probably kick your ass. I’m not even a woman and I feel insulted by your comment.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:15 pm

    @Tim Snow

If you’re going to assume that all the warriors and breadwinners of the world are men, then please admit that your gender is also responsible for 100% of all the suffering and hardships in this world too.

Really, you just don’t understand Star Wars. Ever wonder why there were so many different species in the Jedi Council and Senate chamber? Or in the Cantina? That’s right, because Star Wars is a multi-cultural, men-and-female equality world. That’s part of the appeal to George Lucas’ world. And btw, it doesn’t take huge muscles like The Rock to swing a lightsaber. And there are women out there who are stronger than Luke at age 17.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:38 am

Yeah, imagine if a movie had a female action lead! Oh the horror! ha ha ha, excuse me while I go watch Aliens or the Hunger Games.

      @ Tim Snow:

What guy in Star Wars was anything like Arnold Schwarzenegger?

How did you feel about Leia handling a blaster and going on dangerous missions?

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:33 pm

Aeon Flux the animated series, Alien franchise, Dark Angel Tv show all were successful. Wizard of Oz was one of the main inspirations for Star Wars. Females are not new to sci fi or fantasy. Even space opera!
Tim Snow you make no argument valid.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:19 pm

This is all proof that the sequel trilogy will unify the bickering OT/PT fan-sects under one Star Wars banner. Just look at how perfectly balanced the grittiness and smooth styles are even in this concept art!
A happy medium for the OT and ST: new and innovative, yet nostalgically familiar.

I’m sure this artwork restored the hopes and dreams of many fans. I don’t know about the franchise in general, but clearly EpVII is in great hands!

    • October 15, 2014 at 11:24 pm

Yeah the whole PT/OT which one is better, is just stupid.

      • October 15, 2014 at 11:39 pm

        @ NC:

Again, WTF are you talking about? Even PT fans generally agree the OT is better.

        • October 16, 2014 at 12:05 am

We all know the OT is the better trilogy because of how impacting it was on the culture and the film industry as a whole. Not to mention the acting, plot development, and pretty much everything else were far superior to the PT; unless, of course, you’re an action-hungry, numb-minded moviegoer below the age of 14. It goes without saying that the OT is about as classic as films can get, unlike the prequels.

          • October 16, 2014 at 1:15 am

The prequels’ strengths include: the politics of Star Wars, the evolution of Palpatine, and the advancement of special effects which influenced everything from lord of the rings to the upcoming ST.

I also agree with the official site that the duel of the fates sequence was the best lightsaber battle of the entire saga.

          • October 16, 2014 at 1:06 pm

            What a moronic statement.
“Not to mention the acting, plot development, and pretty much everything else were far superior to the PT.”
Don’t you realise that all of this is opinions? I agree with you on some of the parts, but not all of them. I’m a fan of both the OT and the PT, and I think both have their good sides. To me, the PTs overall story was better and far more deep & interesting, but that’s also an opinion and I respect if others disagree.
            Your opinion is not fact.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:22 pm

At least some rumors seem to be confirmed.

1.the temple, where the X-wings and falcon are. This was just filmed!

2.Remember way back when we saw pictures of what looked like at-at leg pieces coming out of a large white tent?

3.That concept picture of a round building where we see people, fences, the falcon and some other stuff on a desert area? That was film in the first months of shooting! Remember those TMZ pictures?

4.We’ve seen pictures of the new helmet of the knight troopers. Chrome white etc etc..

What if the cyborg is Luke? And he dies in episode 7? If they follow the theme and elder jedi dies. Like in episode 1 and 4.

Daisy is playing Hans daughter from those concepts. She is also of course force sensitive because of her mother Leia!

    • October 15, 2014 at 10:29 pm

I think Han is the most likely to be killed off in EpVII.

      • October 15, 2014 at 11:34 pm

Agreed. It would be foolish to waste Mark Hamill by killing him off in VII just to needlessly rhyme with two other trilogies. This is a rare opportunity. I hope Mark does awesome supporting character stuff throughout the ST! xD

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:27 pm

I guess the non-believers will always be out there. Now Driver isn’t play the villain? Well, an actor friend he know said so in an MTV interview he IS playing the villain. How much more evidence do you need?

Morons on reddit think its fan art, but MakingStarWars has confirmed these images and someone on TFN has skyped with him directly and seen these images during the Skype session. That someone is a forum poster for more than a few years and I highly doubt he/she is interested in lying.

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:37 pm

WTF are you talking about? There have been loads of female warriors in the past, such as the Vikings and Joan of Arc, do your research

  • October 15, 2014 at 10:50 pm

Said no one anywhere at this point: What if the cyborg is Leia? Female-looking mouth, obsessed with Anakin/Darth Vader, stalks character rumored to be Leia’s daughter, etc. etc. That would be a head-exploder. The one returning cast member whose part we’ve heard nothing about is Leia. Let’s not forget how central she was to the OT.

    • October 15, 2014 at 11:55 pm

I think you’re right! Leia leaves Han and takes their daughter of which she get’s dropped off on Tatooine while Leia studies the Sith at Vader’s old castle. Luke either get’s captured by Leia or tries to save her and is somehow on her same planet. Adam Driver is Han and Leia’s son and joins in the fight and may get corrupted at a later date. Sound plausible?

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:01 pm

Geez people, Luke is not the cyborg, his scraggly hermit look speaks plainly to that fact.
That grave robber/relic hunter is going to raise the ancient fear from the ancient days. It probably has to do with the Sith Witches, remember that leaked photo of one from months ago. It’s obvious that Lupita is one (maybe even Asajj herself, Yoda lived 800, there are other species who live longer than 100). IMDB says Maisie-Sellers is an Emissary, betcha she’s one too. Ancient Fear evokes supernatural, magical elements and Star Wars has always evoked the old Hollywood story telling themes.

    • October 16, 2014 at 10:33 am

But that’s where you are wrong, Luke is a cyborg, he became one in episode 5.

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:09 pm

Actually Jedi are based on Samurai not Medieval Knights

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:25 am

you know that and I know that, but so many people on this board refuse to believe it. That’s why they bash the PT for having so many kung-foo-type moves.

    • October 16, 2014 at 1:02 am

      and Samurai were only MEN!

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:14 pm

So, everything Imperial crashes on Tatooine?

The unique setting of Skellig Michael, the primary distinguishing feature of which is its ancient monastery, is basically reduced to a background for some ridiculous fantasy castle?

    Everyone has cyborg limbs now?

    • October 15, 2014 at 11:27 pm

“The unique setting of Skellig Michael, the primary distinguishing feature of which is its ancient monastery, is basically reduced to a background for some ridiculous fantasy castle?”

Right, because how dare they go to unique looking places for backdrops.. Do you want to be anymore pretentious or..?

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:26 pm

My gut says Luke has escaped from wherever he was being held captive, and IS the evil-looking cyborg dude (aka Graverobber in the pics). Look at them closely…yes – he has a cybernetic arm on the right side. And the cybernetics he’s wearing could easily be a mask.

But the façade is just a decoy/costume to keep himself in hiding, as he is aware there is a new threat on the horizon with the Empire and he’s been tasked by Yoda/Kenobi with rebuilding the jedi order. He’s pulling a classic Leia in Boussh costume…this isn’t the first time either, as he similarily orchestrated the whole raid on Jabba’s palace in ROTJ.

He probably even captures Daisy Ridley’s character during the course of the story, as well, and is generally believed to be evil. But in reality he’s taking her in hiding and will be training her eventually. The big red herring of the movie will be when the cyborg’s identity is revealed to be Luke.

It wouldn’t surprise me, either – if he leaves breadcrumbs at the beginning of the story so Ridley’s character finds him, like an old artifact lightsaber, etc. And especially if he foresees that it eventually reunites him with his old friends.

In other words, the cyborg’s actions may be perceived as evil or even borderline dark through the course of the movie, but they’re really being done for the greater good of the galaxy.

What the greater evil is, I don’t know yet. I assume the Empire has something significant up their sleeves if Luke feels he has to mask his identity.

Gotta say, it’s fun to speculate but this is the most plausible storyline I’ve come up with yet.

    In JJ we trust…

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:42 pm

I don’t see Luke in any of those pics. he has a long beard, remember?

  • October 15, 2014 at 11:45 pm

I might be alone on this, but the only issue I have with this concept art is the light saber hilt. It seems almost built to be handled with one hand. Personally, I really enjoyed the idea of light sabers being more like katanas than short swords. The PT really over-killed the whole “wielding two light sabers at once” thing for me. I’d like to see intense one-on-one saber battles in the ST like we saw in ESB, ROTJ and ROTS.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:27 am

Viral Hide, you are a saint.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:38 am

      Aehoooo. Thanks Viral Hide.

      • October 16, 2014 at 3:56 am

Lazi- I mean, efficiency be praised! xD

  • October 16, 2014 at 12:24 am

If the Dark Knight character is really the villain, then Disney would be stupid to draw images of what he/she really looks like: images that could be misappropriated, as these seemingly have, and posted all over the internet. More likely they would draw an image of (Palpatine/Cyborg or other) that represents said villain.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:44 am

you clearly have no idea about the point of conceptual art. It’s not fancy drawings they do on set in their spare time. They want to see what works and looks good before they make decisions. Disney would be stupid to draw images? .. Um conceptual art and designs are pretty vital to a film production!

      • October 16, 2014 at 1:02 am

Then clearly Disney have left the safe open because the EpVII Villain was supposedly one of the most closely secrets in Hollywood.

  • October 16, 2014 at 12:39 am

He has a point, maybe sexiest.
But be realistic, the best male fighter in the world would beat the shit out of the best female fighter.
Plain and Simple just look at the anatomy.
By the way the majority of Star Wars fans is male, would be a bad move to use a Girl/Woman as fighting Hero.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:46 am

I mean as the fighting and winning main hero.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:48 am

then Luke could never have been a successful jedi, because I personally know a lot of girls physically stronger than Mark Hamill.

btw, does it really take a beefy man to wield an energy sword that slices through whatever you put it against?

    • October 16, 2014 at 3:28 am

      Anon @ 00:39 AM

This isn’t Rambo. Star Wars isn’t about muscles.

  • October 16, 2014 at 12:45 am

Anyone else notice that the “wire mesh” pattern on the burnt Vader helmet is actually composed of tiny TIE fighter wing panels?

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:56 am

      Yeah, or Separatist insignias

  • October 16, 2014 at 12:53 am

Remember what Viral Hide said a few weeks ago:

“OK, so here’s something to add from my source:
“No major character from Episode VII will be a cyborg or having metal arms or legs or eyes etc.”

    Whar I say: LOL!

  • October 16, 2014 at 1:01 am

I really wish the Empire wouldn’t be in this and now its going to be harder to look through the comments now that everyone has the same avatar, not really a good idea at all.

  • October 16, 2014 at 1:03 am

Stunning. Even if these might not be the real deal I find these absolutely fascinating. I think we’re in for a treat 🙂

  • October 16, 2014 at 1:21 am

    Kira, I am your Mother…

~Leia – Grave Robber Sith Cyborg

  • October 16, 2014 at 1:58 am

It is Leia….think about it. She is as force sensitive as her brother and father, and unlike them she hasn’t had any proper training to handle the immense pressure. Her adopted home planet was destroyed. Her father was the most infamous Sith lord of all time. She’s been through incredibly traumatic life experiences. Luke passed his test thanks to Obi-wan and Yoda’s guidance. Who does Leia have? Especially if Luke has been gone for years? Thank about Mortis….if there is one good twin, then there is invariably one bad one as well…

    • October 16, 2014 at 3:17 am

‘I know. Somehow I’ve always know.’

      • October 16, 2014 at 4:01 am

Luke couldn’t have trained Leia in the 20 years or so after VI before he vanishes?

        • October 16, 2014 at 6:28 pm

Perhaps Luke tried, but Jedi were seen as pariahs in the galaxy. Couple that with the fact that Leia badly wanted a political career and was forced to lie about her ancestry and her force abilities to maintain said career (Just Like Sheev Palpatine!). This lie could have eaten away at her, and turned her dark and bitter and mean inside, thus opening the door for “a new evil” to emerge.

  • October 16, 2014 at 2:43 am

All I know is that somebody should tell Daisy not to use Anakin’s saber cause it seems to have a tendency of getting the user’s limb chopped off.. Especially in the Skywalker bloodline…

  • October 16, 2014 at 2:52 am

I love the visual metaphors: Daisy Ridley living in the belly of a war machine indicating her generation was born out of war. The grave robber, like an acknowledgement that revisiting Star Wars is like robbing a grave where the sacredness of Star Wars/the past is disturbed and threatened. What I like less is the grandiose looking chrome trooper in the firey environment who recalls the Clingons from Into Darkness. Oh I also like that they are going with some of the darker brown cliffs of Tatooane.

  • October 16, 2014 at 3:03 am

After 35 years same TIE loosers??? No evolution? No improvement?

    • October 16, 2014 at 4:29 am

      Why improve upon perfection?

No but seriously, they are slightly modified… look at the wing connections, I believe they are different. That’s just from what we can actually see in the concept art.

    • October 16, 2014 at 8:33 pm

I think it will be a mix of new and clasic. Star Wars 6 still had TIE’s because they will always be the perfect balance between cost effective ships and manpower, but it also introduced the tie-interceptor. Even in episode 4, at the height of the empire, there was technically more advanced ships (the tie advanced etc.) but its not a strict substitute since its not cost effective to give everyone a ship that powerful. I’m 99% positive we will see AT LEAST one new or modified TIE variant.

  • October 16, 2014 at 3:42 am

I’m trying to think of a scenario where Leia and Han’s daughter would be living in an AT-AT, and I can’t think of a good one. If she isn’t playing their daughter, what a waste of physical resemblance.

    • October 16, 2014 at 4:29 am

Agree. It is strange. After E6 they should have been high rank in the Galaxy. So the kid has to visit sam expensive highschool/university. On the other hand – if they are underdogs (AGAIN) and fighting the “Empire” (again), the kid will be in front line (as Leia did, as Luke did – no stupid hidings in remote planets)

    • October 16, 2014 at 8:19 am

Hiding from her sith mother, Leia.

  • October 16, 2014 at 4:09 am

impressive art!!! its the feel of Star Wars!

  • October 16, 2014 at 4:52 am

Great concept art apart from the cyborg & the chewbacca images. Those are not any good. All very predictable stuff though. Getting a big prequel vibe from this.

  • October 16, 2014 at 4:58 am

Looks like the empire is trying to make a come back. Shame, couldn’t they come up with a new idea. It’s really dull to see the same kind of imagry. I’m really bored of it.

    • October 16, 2014 at 7:53 am

      Sucks to be you.

It makes sense for the Empire to still be around 30 years later, large as it was. I’m definitely excited and open-minded to see what they do with it in VII.

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:25 pm

If they come with a new idea then there is no need to call it Ep 7, remember it is a big movie with 9 parts.

  • October 16, 2014 at 6:34 am

I think the art and design work is apalling. Very amateur work compared to the stuff was produced for the previous movies.

    • October 16, 2014 at 7:40 am

amateur?? Some were so lifelike they looked like photos….We must not be looking at the same ones.

      • October 16, 2014 at 3:17 pm

You are looking at photos in places – that’s my point.

  • October 16, 2014 at 6:37 am

Well it’s been a full day and Disney hasn’t removed the original site with the leaked pics, which means this was purposely done for PR by JJ making fans and media believe it was an unofficial leak, more publicity, and making people feel they are being naughty for looking at them.

Which brings me to what I believe is an Easter Egg in all this batch of concept art. After downloading, image analyzing the TIE hangar with Stormtrooper pic, I have come to the conclusion it is an actual screen capture of an almost finished frame shot from the film itself. The detail, lighting, reflections and realism of the hangar is way, way overboard for concept art and even CGI enhanced concept art. Those troopers are actual extras, the highly realistic detailed reflections on their armor is a dead giveaway, especially if you zoom on the left trooper. They have passed the image thru an enhancer to make the picture appear to be art, especially if you focus on the right side which has been manipulated, but zoom and sharpen and you can remove the enhancement. The left side of the image though has remained free of any manipulation.
Anyway this is my speculation not only for that pic but the unofficial leak probably came from the producers themselves.
Furthermore the Greenwood art may also be a nearly finished frame from the film. I never heard of concept art actually looking 100% like the actual film location set. That pic is the only one that has been entirely (purposely?) blurred.
My favorite is still the AT-AT shelter, the one from ground level looking into the belly.

    • October 16, 2014 at 7:03 am

I agree, 2 or 3 of these almost look like blurred out stills from the actual movie. Very detailed art if it’s not.

      • October 16, 2014 at 8:14 am

Yeah the AT-AT shelter stuff looks real to me. Screen caps. Aggghhh!

    • October 20, 2014 at 9:55 pm

Doug Chaing used motion blur and flares that were Photoshoped after initial concept art was complete. This is not his art work but it is definitely not from scenes shot on film. The artists and their techniques change as well as new tech in the toolbox.
Many cg concept artists are out there and this is early stuff.

  • October 16, 2014 at 7:12 am

Tim Snow? Fakest name ever… Obviously a feminist in disguise…. who talks like that? trollololol….

  • October 16, 2014 at 7:59 am

Yeah, some of this “art” definitely looks like screen caps. It looks fantastic, though. I’m loving the idea of a darkside Leia, who can’t control the galaxy post ROTJ, and, giving in to her fear of losing power, subsequently turns to the dark side. Maybe her and Solo have children (Ridley and Driver?) that are separated early in age to protect them from her (throwback to OT and ST) This would explain Ridleys life of squalor as a junker, yet the actress’s uncanny physical resemblance to Leia. This storyline would certainly add a tragic element to old Han, deepening the character and widening the spectrum. Personally, I would love to see some of these OT characters from a more melancholic angle…Looks like it’s gonna be a long wait.

    • October 16, 2014 at 8:15 am

Heartbreaking. And heartwarming. All at the same damn time.

  • October 16, 2014 at 8:43 am

Daisy has brown hair like Lea and it would be believable if she were Lea’s daughter but she doesn’t resemble Lea any more than most attractive brunettes do, any more than, say, Kiera Nightly, Anne Hathaway, or a young Sigourney Weaver.

  • October 16, 2014 at 9:46 am

It’s all concept art. A lot of artists use a combo of 3d Zbrush and Photoshop nowadays. Probably had ILM models. I’m sure because of this tight schedule all the departments are working in parallel to meet deadlines.

Anyone think Luke is already dead and is a force ghost in EP7?

What if Luke is calling Daisy via the force?

I like the idea he’s in desguise too. What if Luke has to control the empire while pretending to be a Sith?

Daisy a runaway? Because her father (Han or Luke) abandoned her?

  • October 16, 2014 at 9:50 am

    Darth Vader Lives.

  • October 16, 2014 at 9:53 am

How awesome would it be if in the first 5 seconds of Episode 7, Jar Jar Binks and all the ewoks are annihilated?

    • October 16, 2014 at 12:47 pm

They’ll say it on the opening scroll:

Jar Jar Binks and all the ewoks have been annihilated…”

  • October 16, 2014 at 9:59 am

Hopefully they put a cybernetic leg on Han Solo instead of a cybernetic arm on Chewbacca….

  • October 16, 2014 at 12:40 pm

very happy about the :leaked: images… finally we get some SW reality

  • October 16, 2014 at 1:08 pm

    Lukes beard is cybernetic.

  • October 16, 2014 at 1:29 pm

Hi. In the picture where ”grave robber” holds an touches Vaders helmet, it seems that this creature is (or was) female. Look at the upper lip. And in other drawings that creature doesn’t feel like men, there something feminine about it. Did anybody spot that?

  • October 16, 2014 at 3:20 pm

I’d prefer something more interesting than the Phantom of the Opera as the bad guy. Reminds me of the LXG version, looks too cheap and unclassy for Star Wars.

  • October 16, 2014 at 4:32 pm

    I’m astonished!

As other said, I could hear John William’s themes when I looked to the images. Beautiful work!

And I can risk saying that the “Binary Sunset” and the scene where the “grave robber” takes Vader’s burned out helmet will be some of the most iconic scenes of the entire Star Wars franchise.

Really hope all we see there is legit!

  • October 16, 2014 at 4:35 pm

I think the robber is Leia. The picture with the girl being held from behind the masked creature seems to make a lot of sense as a mother/daughter picture.

  • October 16, 2014 at 6:35 pm

I believe the robber is Adam Driver–looking down and thinking, “Hi Grandpa.” Rumors are that he’s an aristocrat–well, it would be hard to be more aristocratic than the son of Leia and Han. This time out, the reveal won’t be “I’m your father.” It will be “I’m your brother/son.” Han facing off with Luke–by protecting his kid.

    • October 16, 2014 at 6:40 pm

I see that your name is still waiting for an email confirmation from the Cantina. Do you have problems getting it?

  • October 16, 2014 at 7:03 pm

Daisy Ridley is gonna have a LIGHT SABER WHIP! Think about it, the PT gave us a new light saber with Darth Maul’s double light saber. ST will give us the light saber whip!

The Chrome guy with the cloak is a bounty hunter calling it now!

  • October 16, 2014 at 8:16 pm

You guys are a work of art.
The images are fake. Look it up.

  • October 17, 2014 at 1:41 am

Adam driver is the villain in the mask. He starts out a rebel, and is Han and Leia’s Son. He is presumed dead and wears the mask. Daisy Ridley is his sister, the pic with the 2 of them she isn’t putting up a fight, she is torn. His fascination with vader and the Sith is because Vader is his Grandfather.

    • October 17, 2014 at 2:22 am

      Love it

    • October 17, 2014 at 2:54 am

Thsi is pretty much the same I ws thinking—that Adam Driver is Han and Leia´s kid and turn evil…but I don´t know about Daisy….if she´s a kid of high rank rebels/Republic leaders, why is she a smuggler in some forgotten place? It doesn´t make any sense. She´s not the ultimate messiah to save the galaxy or a big threath to any bad guys…she´s no one to hide…Hell Luke was someone and he didn´t hide, he was fighting….Leia was somebody – and she was fighting as well…..why would the daughter of Han and Leia be there?

  • October 17, 2014 at 3:07 am

Hahaha please stop with that nonsense of Leia being evil :-))))) she´s 155 cm, she would be a mini antagonist 🙂 no way. It´s Adam Driver! If this trilogy questions what is good and what is bad, it has to be a Solo/Skywalker who turns to evil thinking that this is the right way…Leia and Han will both end in episode 7, probably giving their lives to save their kid (Driver?)…And the mask? Maybe Driver gets hurt and everyone thinks he´s dead but he´ll be saved by some other bad guy and ends as partially cyborg…think – it´s been said many times that 7 is about old ones passing the torch to the young ones…and that´s it. 8 and 9 will be about the fresh ones, only Luke´s survives…at least as a force ghost..

  • October 17, 2014 at 3:43 am

Not that I prefer it, but. A female protagonist could work if done properly. Remember this it the STAR WARS universe not the MMA. First off make her real woman emotionally. Not a woman trying to be a man. Make her a little sensitive and hot tempered. And for combat she could be lightning fast. So if you have lightning speed mixed with hot temper and a light saber? Sounds deadly to me.

  • October 17, 2014 at 3:59 am

the one in the throne room is not Luke. Throne Room needs servants or followers who worship you. If there´s only Luke, what´s the point of putting your seat in front of the main door in a higher place? Non.

    • October 17, 2014 at 3:19 pm

Remember your failure at the cave!

  • October 17, 2014 at 4:05 am

If there´s really an Empire around, there has to be a powerful leader. And I´m not talking about Tarkin class leader.

  • October 17, 2014 at 4:18 am

The cyborg character is luke or the EMPEROR still alive. The girl daisey ridley characyer will find the saber bring it to the cyborb character and will be trained in the force or darkside / girl character is offspring of luke or han/leia

  • October 17, 2014 at 4:36 am

The grave robber art photo had me thinking about what might motivate one to acquire relics of Darth Vader. One, trying to discover some secret about the dark side that gives the villain an edge over his enemies. Or two, which I hope is not the case, trying to locate DNA from the deposed darth vader in order to clone a new anakin skywalker. Anakin Clone trained from birth in the ways dark side of the force.

The villain in all the art concepts may be a jedi apprentice of Luke Skywalker’s that went bad, that’s why Luke is hiding and there are no jedi around. Luke is reluctant to train more that may turn to the dark side. Let the galaxy fight it out without the jedi. Just a plot theory.

  • October 17, 2014 at 6:35 am

I’d wager these were hand picked by Disney & JJ to satisfy the fans just enough without giving away the main plot lines. Really cool time to be a SW fan.

  • October 17, 2014 at 6:46 am

Owe and you see JJ & Co’s dilemma. If they take the pics down, that proves their legitimacy. If they leave them be, it continues to harm them.

  • October 17, 2014 at 7:50 am

Not to mention I think the leak was too big and too wide spread before Disney got wind of it. The TMZ photos are legit too and they were never removed. As were pics of the falcon…the Black X-Wing etc…..

  • October 17, 2014 at 12:39 pm

These are my guesses (based on some things we’ve already heard)…

    1. None of the big three will feature in the opening sequence which will be an aerial battle between Empire and (what was) the Rebel forces. This and the opening crawl introduces us to the current state of the galaxy politically and takes us right into the struggle between the 2 sides which is still raging. R2 will be present in an X-wing with one of the Solo kids piloting. The sequence will focus on the defection of John Boyega’s character and the shooting down of his Tie.

    2. Daisy Ridley rescues the Imperial Pilot from the crashed ship on Tattooine. Chewie may be present with her there as her protector and could be the next major OT character to be revealed. Ridley becomes involved in helping the Pilot escape the pursuing Empire. There must be another good reason why they want Boyega’s character dead.

    3. Luke I’SNT the Grave Robber character, although JJ is well aware that the fans will speculate now right up until release. No coincidence that the hand is being shown and that this character COULD easily be Luke, think the film makers are having some fun here.

    4. The final scene before the closing crawl will be the first time the OT Big 3 are reunited together. This will be after Luke saves Ridley from certain death and returns with her to a Rebel territory (once he understands that the Sith threat has returned to the Galaxy) for an emotional reunion.

    • October 17, 2014 at 3:43 pm

I think Luke is the “Grave Robber”, but that it is a vision, a la the cave. That explains why Mark has the beard now. He will be revealed as a more Ben-like character after this encounter.

  • October 17, 2014 at 5:32 pm

The stormtroopers in the hangar bay look like photos of actual prop costumes that were comped into a concept rendering. The guy on the left is a flip-flopped image of the guy on the right. the reflections are the same but backward, and the little circular thing on the shoulder isn’t consistently on the same side from one trooper to the other.

  • October 17, 2014 at 5:35 pm

Leia as the grave robber might actually be a great way ‘within the star wars universe’ to work around Carrie Fisher’s appearance and voice being so haggard now, due to all her drug and alcohol abuse over the last 30+ years. When Carrie talks, you can tell that her nasal cavities are practically collapsed, and I’ve been wondering how they are going to reconcile that with the eloquent princess we all remember. It’s like when Mark Hamill was in a car crash after filming ANH, and they had to write the Wampa attack into TESB just to explain his facial reconfiguration, only with Carrie, there’s a lot more ‘splaining to do! So turn her into a cackling villain, and presto.

  • October 17, 2014 at 8:27 pm

I don’t know if this has been thrown out there yet, but I have yet to see this theory about the chrome trooper. If Luke is the ultimate Jedi Knight, why not have him don the Chrome Trooper outfit? It would explain why we have not seen his Jedi beard in any concept stuff yet, as it would be covered, and it would harken back to an old and aged knight in shining armor.

    • October 18, 2014 at 3:57 am

  • October 18, 2014 at 12:29 am

One of Luke or Leia has to turn to the dark side. Think about it… It’s logically the only way possible. But which one? My guess is Leia.

  • October 18, 2014 at 12:37 am

The simplest idea is usually the right one.

When I look at the “Grave Robber” piece the idea that immediately comes to mind is that this person in is an Imperial Starship outside Endor. Probably there to verify the claims that the Emporer, Vader and Battlestation was destroyed. Maybe even to look for survivors? There are obviously Imperial remnants and they surely would have shown up at some point.

Given that he is in a hooded robe with cybernetic replacement limbs, he is probably a Sith apprentice who searched and inevitably found Vaders remains.

Then the question is, was he Vaders apprentice or was he the Emporers?

  • October 18, 2014 at 3:52 am

Does not look like Mcquarrie art, or style. even if it is insanely great.

  • October 18, 2014 at 8:20 pm

I think people need to relax on the Disney hate. I really think this company is just going to give money and produce it. THAT’S IT. They already know the films work well and are huge cash cows as is, so I doubt they’d start messing that up. They picked JJ because of his background and he’s a fan of the series. I think we need to trust their judgment. And George probably gave him the stamp of approval too. If these pictures are in fact concept art/ possible scenes, then I think we’re in for a great film. I think it’s going to mix the lighthearted fun and tension that we need in these films. The picture of the storm troopers and the tie-fighter gets me all excited! 😀

  • October 18, 2014 at 9:42 pm

Here’s an explanation: Daisy and Driver are Han and Leia’s kids. Leia and Driver were taking a trip somewhere and their ship crashed on Tatooine, probably attacked by the enemy. Sydow’s character rescued Daisy from the wreckage and she survived as a scrappy orphan living in an AT-AT and obviously being strong with the Force. Leia was thought to be dead but survived (Force luck) with horrific injuries. Thinking her daughter was dead and with her injuries she plunged into the Darkside full throttle and somehow hooked up with the reminance of the Empire. Han and Driver had to go on their own and continue to help lead the Alliance and that is the set up for Episode 7. Perhaps Luke eventually sensed her living in her dark fortress on Skelig and traveled there hoping to save her one day and is in seclusion communing with the Force. The will of the Force or Luke allowed his old lightsaber to fall into the hands of Daisy as he knows she is the only one that can ultimately save Leia as Luke saved Vader. The Grave Robber is of course what’s left of Leia and uses her hate towards her father (from being tortured and what not) to help fuel her rage. She uses the Vader helmet as a symbol for her hate. What do you think?
