UPDATE 6! Harrison Ford Broke His Ankle on the Star Wars: Episode 7 Set. He is Off for 8 Weeks?
Harrison Ford has been injured on the set of Star Wars. The actor injured his ankle on Thursday, and was taken to a local hospital…
From THR:
A statement from Disney reads: “Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”
A source tells THR that the actor, who reprises his role as Han Solo from the original franchise, was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft that his character pilots in the original films, and looks to be making a return in the sequel.
It looks like the injury is really serious:
UPDATE!
A source close to the production tells The Hollywood Reporter Ford broke his ankle.
UPDATE 2!
From Deadline:
There are all kinds of reports circulating that make it sound like Harrison Ford got mashed in that trash compactor in the original Star Wars. It’s not as bad as what’s being reported, I’m told, but Ford has a fractured ankle. This is a painful break for him, and a tough break for the movie, because he’s such an integral part of the plot.
UPDATE 3!
Some more rumors about the injury from unconfirmed sources:
From Mirror:
A source on set said Ford, known around the world as Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy, collided with the metal door whilst he was performing a stunt for the sci-fi film.
The source added: “Harrison was hit by the door and looked in a bad way and was clutching his chest when he was on the stretcher.
“He is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and no chances were being taken so he got straight into a helicopter and was taken away in a lot of pain. His foot was damaged too.
“The cast and crew were sent home for the day, even though it was 5pm and the beginning of a night shoot.
“Harrison’s injury and what happened is going to mean changes to the schedule and problems and issues that need to be solved. But the main thing at the moment is making sure Harrison is OK.”
The actor was spotted shopping just hours before the incident:

The actor was taken by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford with a suspected fracture in his ankle. It is understood he has no major chest injuries but is awaiting results of further tests.
A spokesman for Thames Valley police said: “We were called just after 5pm to reports of a 71-year-old man being injured in an incident believed to involve a garage door.
A spokesman for Lucas Films has said the actor is in “good spirits” after his shocking accident on set.
UPDATE 4!
Access Hollywood spoke to Ford’s son, Ben Ford, who said that his dad will possibly need a plate and screws put into his ankle.
He also speculated that filming of the J.J. Abrams movie could be altered slightly, with the crew needing to shoot the actor from the waist up for a short time until he recovers.
UPDATE 5!
From SkyNews:
Harrison Ford has spent a second night in hospital after being injured while filming the news Star Wars movie at Pinewood Studios.
The actor broke his ankle and had to be airlifted to hospital in Oxford where he has been treated for his injury.
A publicist for the film told Sky News they were: “Hoping to announce some good news soon.”
Ford, 71, was reported to have been hurt when the door of the Millennium Falcon fell on him.
A spokesman for Ford’s wife, the Ally McBeal actress Calista Flockhart, told The Daily Telegraph she was flying out to the UK to be with her husband.
Disney spokesman Paul Roeder said filming would continue on schedule while Ford recovers.
UPDATE 6!
From THR:
Harrison Ford will miss as many as eight weeks of filming on Star Wars: Episode VII after the actor broke his ankle on set, a source close to the production has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ford was taken to a hospital after injuring his ankle on Thursday, but shooting will continue in his absence. THR’s source added that Episode VII is still expected to make its Dec. 18, 2015 release date.
8 weeks is a pretty normal period for this kind of injury. Let’s hope there’s nothing else as some gossip sites suggested.

Could there really be worse news??? Gutted for Harrison and the crew.
I know, right? Especially since Han Solo is supposed to be the focal point of this picture. I’m gutted, too.
now just imagine how hard it’s going to be to make that rumored Indiana Jones 5.
Let’s hope that it remains ‘rumoured”.
To be fair he did punch it a few times, didn’t he?
Is there a hover walker he can use?
I’m sure his (other) co-pilot K.*@#., aka Oscar Isaac can mo’re than handle the dutch while Han is away. Especially since he’s after his daughter anyway.
It’s ok his recent acting looks pretty painful so there shouldn’t be much of a difference ooooh burn. But no seriously hope he’s ok. Imagine if he just flat out broke his back or something. May the force be with you Captain Solo.
Even if he did break his back, all would not be lost. This is the wonderful digital era. As long as his face muscles are working, they could digitally plaster his face onto a body double.
I imagine Disney would be quite capable of it, considering how much $ is at stake for them.

As if…
100% Crap.
HAHAHAHA!
duh its fake. but its still an awesome fan made video!
I know! I thought it was cool and funny, but people hate it such hate.
Poor JJ.
I hope they got it on film and leave it in the final movie like they did with Jango Fett bashing his head walking into the Slave I after fighting Obi-Wan in Episode II.
That was intentional and probably CG, not an actor mistake. Given that Jango and the Clone Troopers are the precursor to the Stormtroopers, it was a reference/callback/homage to this scene from A New Hope:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBQaLuqwtl8
(Lucas added the “thunk” sound effect for the HD release, but you can see the head bump in the original version too)
Actually, the Jango thing was a deliberate in-joke connected to a stormtrooper accidentally banging his head on the door to the Death Star control room in the original film. (The “Take over… see to him” scene.)
Uh, that’s what Anonymous JUST SAID.
Look at the times on the comments before you post yours. They were both answering around the same time. You are too quick to lash out at others as usual Apple advertisement.
What, it takes MORE than 2 minutes to read three sentences?
And why are you jumping to his defense? What are you, his wife, secrecy advertisement?
If you click on an article, read it, then read the comments and answer, two minutes could go by. So THINK DIFFERENT® before you react.
I guess the falcon is getting old as well.
Hope they’re doing a shit load of behind the scenes stuff for extra’s. Would be interesting to see all this stuff happening after hearing all the whispers for so long.
poor Harrison ford
Didn’t Harrison get beat up / hurt when he was shooting the last Indy movie a couple of years ago too? The man needs to be careful!
Speedy recovery, Han!
By letting the Wookiee win? Oh wait wrong movie..
It wasn’t in the last Indy film. But he did break his collarbone or something along those lines while filming Temple of Doom, IIRC.
No big deal, they’ll film other parts.
Obviously (or not).. they are filming scenes for Episode VIII too… I mean why not
They did that with the prequels, Harry Potter, LOTR, etc. It just saves time and money.
Actually, I hope so.
I think it’s more likely that they’re filming these movies back-to-back-to-back. Hopefully, they have the scripts for those movies ready beforehand, so they don’t run into the problem that the “Pirates” sequels did.
): Poor guy. I hope it was a sprain, not a break.
A little more detail here… http://www.hellomagazine.com/film/2014061219349/harrison-ford-airlifted-hospital/
Damn! I hope it’s nothing too bad. A bum ankle for the rest of filming is going to really suck for him.
Shit… the article linked just above here says it’s a fracture, and that a door fell on him.
That could sideline him for a good bit of the production.
Can we get some verification with that link? I don’t trust news sites that have so many typos.
Just saw this one, which mentions a “bad ankle injury” that’s possibly a fracture:
http://variety.com/2014/film/news/harrison-ford-injured-on-the-set-of-star-wars-episode-vii-1201219316/
NO!!! And he was supposed to be the focal OT character in EpVII 🙁
Unless his injury isn’t as severe as it sounds, I have a sneaking suspicion he might not end up having as big a role as he was supposed to.
Dammit…
The Millenium Falcon Strikes Back
Of course… they could always give him a big wooden crutch, stick a parrot on his shoulder and have him go all Robert Newton.
Oooooooo, OWWWiE!!! … http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/auckland/news/nbent/1542118214-harrison-ford-injured-on-star-wars-vii-set
Assuming it was an emergency, he probably didn’t have time to change out of his costume. Can you imagine the reaction from the hospital staff when in comes Han Solo…in full Star Wars garb. And I bet someone even took a snapshot.
His costume will be entirely different I reckon -maybe only his gunbelt and blaster remain the same. As an older man, he’ll be in thicker, warmer clothing – some padding rather than thin leather.
Quote Harrison Ford: “Dammit Chewy, I told you to fix that!”
he was hurt by a lens flare
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “We were called to Pinewood studios at 5.05pm after reports of a 71-year-old man being injured by a garage door.”
If has a foot fracture, how long could he be out?
It really depends on what bones were broken and how severe the fracture is. Best case scenario if it was a foot and not an ankle he could be up and walking in a boot within a few weeks but a complete recovery from any fracture could take months. I’m sure they’ll restructure something where Harrison can film some of his less action oriented scenes first and save more involved things for after he’s healed… it’s not as if there’s a huge shortage of time till the release date. 😉
Assuming its a fracture (and we are not sure it is yet it hasn’t been confirmed) he could be out up to six weeks at max.
I don’t think this will help the case of him ever having fond memories of star wars
Haha!
+1000
I’m still skeptical of a lot of these small news outlets and what they are saying about his ankle being crushed by a door… I’ll believe it when BBC or something of that caliber reports specifics.
Doesn’t he pretty much get injured on every movie he makes?
Yes, he was injuried or sick on raiders or ESB ^^. Two of his better movie. This sound like a promess 🙂
He’ll be fine.
Yeah. In two months.
Jesus, don’t they have some “Space Boniva®” or something like that in the future?
Looks like ol’ Twigbones Calhoun is gonna be sidelined for a good long while.
After hearing this news, Darth Vader was quoted as saying:
“Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Chop off the whole ankle and give him a new bionic one.
Just put him in the bacta tank for the Force’s sake!
Ford Is older than dirt. He will prob slip a disc before the shooting is over.

I think Harrison Ford is a great actor, but he’s an old man, even a small fracture could have him out of action for a while. But I hardly think that any major changes will be made they’ll just reshuffle the shooting schedule to fit the other actors scenes, reaction shots and other continuity bits and bobs. They have till 2015 to do pickups, which most directors do, even Peter Jackson had LOTR actors come back a year or more to fill in bits for scenes and tie stuff in with the main principle shoots. JJ will manage or Disney will freeze him in carbonite.

You mad bro?
Mickey had better send his top surgeons if necessary. I’m sure the big mouse won’t let Disney’s stock tumble on account of any long delays.
Luke was right, the Falcon IS a piece of junk.
“A spokesman for Lucas Films has said the actor is in “good spirits” after his shocking accident on set.
She told The Sun newspaper: “He sustained an injury on set but I’m told he is in good spirits now.”
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/harrison-ford-accident-recap-updates-3682800#ixzz34TgcXJE6
Dont believe a single word that the scum newspaper says!!! Justice for the 96!!! YNWA!!! Just heard on bbc radio 4 that it is a broken ankle.
Grandpa Solo
Just in, they’re going to amputate! :O
From a comment at Variety about this incident:
(and I really wish I’d thought of this!!)
“Open the Blast doors! OPEN the BLAST DOORS!”
How in the world do you get injured in the ankle by a DOOR? Unless someone slammed it on him.
It fell on him. Probably the rounded door to the ramp that closes from the top down (like a garage door), or the ramp itself.
Harrison Ford’s ankle is on twitter https://twitter.com/hfordankle
It probably has something to do with the old couch that he salvaged from the Death Star trash compactor. Maybe he and Chewie finally dislodged it from the Falcon’s door and WHAMMO!! Ouch! Ouch! My ankle! My ankle!
I wonder what kind of injuries he might get in Indy 5.
Oh God, don’t tell me that’s still a go?
At least he can still sit in the pilots chair of the falcon! (: Really hope he’ll be ok though…
so….no one here has ever hurt themselves??? really people, some of the comments are pitiful
they didn’t even ask him any questions…
That’s funny!
thanks, not sure Mr Ford would agree though!
Argghhh…!! After years of waiting for Han Solo (Harrison Ford) to return he gets injured on The Millennium Falcon for crying out loud.
Oh well, Good thing we’ve always got Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) to come to the rescue and save the day! Who knows: Lando and The Millennium Falcon back together after all these years.
Well according to this Star Wars crewmember at https://www.facebook.com/Mako34 Ford should be fine. He’ll heal and be back!
This guy is a fraud. He constantly posts photos claiming to be from Episode VII. I got a confirmation that they are all fake.
Take heed, this is a omen. Friday the 13th and a full moon. Its an astrological sign that the movie was a bad idea to begin with, and should immediately stop production. I even have proof in my astrology reading cards.
Astrology bah!…it happened yesterday… So put that hokum aside…movie sets are like building sites it happens
Well, time to make use of that CGI Harrison Ford Lucas has been working on.
They will use CG ankle.
A body double & cgi Harrisons face on all will be right…..I mean if they can do it with Paul Walker ( RIP ) why not Harrison Ford…..
Lol. All of a sudden people are acknowledging the benefits of CGI.
This just in: Harrison Ford broke his ankle during on the set of Episode 7!
ViralHide: why did you name the article “broke his ancle” when it doesn’t say so in any of the articles & you want confirmation/source on that?
Several are saying it’s “broke”, but do not elaborate. Here’s one…
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-27825562
Check my first and second update on the article. THR and Deadline are reporting that he has a fracture. They’re the most reliable sources out there so I’m sure that’s what happened.
Yeah, Anon. They flew him to a hospital because he sprained his ankle. lol.
Mabye Han could walk with a cane, put it in the story line…it does happen to people in their 70’s. I wouldn’t care, as long as he has good lines. Do I need to see him running around at 70 like he did when he was 35? Nah
I wouldn’t mind him walking with a cane either, it could be an old gunshot wound or something
he probably has a lot of sitting scenes (hopefully a lot of them in the cockpit of the falcon) that they can shoot in the meantime,
I don’t think it will have any impact on the outcome of the movie & I rather have them push the release date of the movie forward than make changes in the script & cut some of Harrisons scenes
A very old cast + lens flare + Irregular shaped objects + zero spatial awareness = Space Balls 2 – A New Joke.
The original cast, with young cast + I doubt he’ll use lens flare + made that one up + made that one up = poor trolling
I reckon it’s time to ring up Vic Armstrong, eh?
I was just about to write that. 🙂
Does anyone know if Papaya Enzyme helps broken ankles too?
I feel it’s a bit pre-emptive and wrong to have the advert just underneath this article right now saying, “Cover funeral costs.” O_O http://s23.postimg.org/cl7xil1bv/Untitled.png
hahahahaaaaa!! Look at this. Too funny!!…..
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/star-wars/10897528/Harrison-Fords-injury-Twitters-funniest-jokes.html
Recovery time for most ankle fractures are 6 weeks. It may not be fully healed but you can be full weight baring at 6 weeks most of the time
Disney stock down over 1% today. Wonder if that’s due to Ford?… :p
It happened yesterday! it was Friday the 13th on our time line HF “where did you dig up that old fossil” 77
I’m sure he’ll be pulling the ears off gundarks in no time.
Wow that’s really funny! I bet almost everyone who follows SW7News thought the same thing. You are so unique! The only one of us to actually feel the need to use that chestnut! Wow you are gods special little creature are you not.
don’t worry Disney wont let him die until the movie is done
Sounds like action INSIDE the Falcon!!!
If they used a CG stunt double and/or CG set, this would not have happened to Ford. Just saying.
Wow… this is sad 🙁 Get well soon, Harrison!
Always trying to be Mr nice guy eh?
He’s not being nice when he claims Chevy Chase threw Doug Kenney off a cliff in Hawaii.
Can bacta heal broken/fractured bones?
He’s too old for what he was doing in that role.
Opening and closing doors?
apparently he still f£$ks his wife…. cant be that old then
http://boards.theforce.net/threads/harrison-ford-in-episode-vii.50018763/page-10
New photo from the set of EPVII!
Which photo? You mean that old photo of him holding the reddit sign???…
Right. April, i.e. pre-filming. If the chair next to him really says Carrie, it must be from their read-through or some other promotional thing. Also, he doesn’t currently have a beard, while filming.
Wow, leaked Episode 7 footage…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JOFgEFWX90#t=56
More like leaked Episode 5 footage…
Ford may need plate and screws. 🙁
http://www.accesshollywood.com/harrison-fords-star-wars-injury-actor-may-need-plate-and-screws_article_95434
I have a colleague who fractured his ankle approximately 5 months ago. He had screws and pins put in. It took almost a half year before he returned to work. He is only 49.
Well folks, there we have it: THIS MOVIE IS BONED.
Just remember that there are three scripts and better writers than you!
Also, how does a movie get boned?
I’ve broken both my ankles and had the plate/screws surgeries. it’s not bad. They had me bearing full weight on it in about ten days after surgery. Once the hardware is in place the joint is stable. Ligaments and tendons are sore for a while but otherwise you’re ok after the surgery. Rehab is short, two to three months. He’ll be in a walking boot for a while then transition to a velocity brace. He will be ok soon.
That must have been tough, especially twice. Though you probably weren’t 71 when it happened, Harrison seems like a tough enough guy and will be back not after not too long.
Thanks for giving us greater hope, Mike! 😀
at least they were using “practical” sets.
Harrison Ford is super fit for his age, he looks at least ten years younger than his real age, I’m sure he will not want to make much of a fuss over it all but I wish him a speedy recovery.
Things could have been a lot worse I guess, imagine if it happened to someone less tough as him or it could have happened to Carrie Fisher instead of him???
Worse things have happened. Didn’t he get really ill during the filming of Temple of Doom and he had to be flown back home for a couple of months while Spielberg shot doubles and stuntmen? This kind of stuff happens.
GET WELLNESS. Everything happens for a reason. It is not fair but Harrison you are a war vet. Use it and let them take nothing away from THE SOLO. Show them that this “slammed your Leg in the Spaceship door” can never stop your greatest legacy performance. Walk it off and show your kids how tough the 70s were. Make it a part of Han. Like George said, he has not been cooking burgers.
Maybe Lucas was on to something… A piece of green canvas won’t break any bones if it falls on you. So much for practical effects.
lucas wasn’t on to anything. cgi sucks
I guess some people loooove fake looking computer effects so much that they’d try to argue this form of logic… disgusting.
Face it, you pro-fake looking folks lost… get over it.
I hope he recovers fully soon. Corellians are known to be a tough bunch.
It’s the curse.
Dont’t make more Star Wars movies.
Or maybe it’s payback for all the Dissing Han Solo, Right Mr Han YoYo
Best wishes for your speedy recovery. We all new that the Falcon was NOT a save ship. Getting your leg jamed in one of the Falcons doors could even by part of the script. I am sure right about now Han wished he had a bacta tank on board the Falcon.
Just use CGI Ford !
Also breaking: buckwheat is dead.
It seems as if this is bigger news than the SET PHOTOS that leaked a few weeks ago!
hey guys i am one of his doctors
And? Will you tell us how he’s doing?
Dr. Nincompoop I presume?
Nice new leaked shot of the ramp, thanks to “The Sun”…
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/5690737/Star-Wars-actors-in-revolt-after-Harrison-Fords-accident-on-movie-set.html
Confirmed fake!
Who says it’s fake? I’ve never seen this shot before. It’s clearly a shot from the interior set ramp, looking up at the back side of the airlock door (this is not the same ramp used on the outer shell Falcon prop, which would look dirtier).
Trust me it’s fake. Every time I tell you to trust me I’m 100 % sure. Like with the leaked TMZ photos – they were not leaked intentionally. Unfortunately I can’t tell you why.
Why would it be a secret? If you won’t tell me why then I can’t take what you said at face value. So what do you think this picture is showing then? It’s clearly not a computer render, clearly not some kind of future Disney attraction, too sharp to be a photo taken from the OT movies, and one can clearly see stage pipe fittings hanging down in lower left and right corners. Looks real to me…
I just think that Viral Hide is trying to make sure he doesn’t get anyone fired or breach any confidences with his sources. Given the ridiculous amount of secrecy surrounding the Episode VII production, I can certainly understand why he’d need to do that.
(We’re also talking about something that appeared in The Sun, which is a tabloid with a history of, shall we say, highly questionable veracity when it comes to content.)
It’s your decision if to trust me. I’ve got a confirmation from a 100% credible source. And by the way it’s The Sun we’re talking about. And if you look the real Falcon ramp you’ll see that there’s nothing in common.
There are two Falcon ramps. This is the one connected to the internal set pieces, which is only viewed on screen from the OTHER side (the inside of the Falcon looking out, when the airlock door opens or closes). Very little of this ramp makes it to movie screen, and probably not the walkable part at all. The second ramp (the one we usually see) is connected to the shell of the ship, dirtier, where the characters are filmed running up it. as far as “nothing in common” goes, take a look at Starkiller’s accurate walkthrough… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iintEBWVAX8#t=199
Do you work for The Sun?
Maybe he just has Carbon Sickness…
Step up to the plate, Mark Hamill.
I can see the old timers musing about their past injuries at the nursing home in 20 years. Ohhhh yeah, fractured your wrist while painting the eavetroughs eh? well sonny boy, I had the door of the Millenium Falcon fall on me!
He’ll tell it like Quint in Jaws.
Ugh. Now they’re saying it’s worse than anyone is letting on and may be a pelvis injury.
link???
Only tabloid clickbait sites. Best not to even advertise them.
I had a feeling something was going to stop this movie from happening.. Well it might not even be good, who the hell knows…
For the love of all that is holy in star wars, please just wait till he has healed before shooting his scenes, I couldn’t stand to see a stationary han solo, “waist up” filming just screams cheap trick. Film something else, delay thr movie 3 months, I don’t care, just don’t $%#@ with Hans action scenes!!
Yeah. Except for the shots that actually *are* supposed to be from the waist up, which is probably plenty of them.
Han’s action scenes?
Taking Ford’s age into consideration—and the fact that there’s plenty of young, athletic cast members—I’m pretty sure Han didn’t even have that many action scenes to begin with.
While you’re correct, anon #2, for someone with a fractured ankle, anything involving walking or (certainly) running becomes an action scene.
Many real action scenes would probably have a stunt double anyway, which isn’t a problem.
I’m sure there are plenty of scenes where he is required to move quickly and talk, I just don’t want to watch knowing they’ve changed things so much visually to suit the situation. Harrison is the fittest of the big 3, no doubt.
Let Han’s action scenes take place on the Falcon as its pilot.

A new report is saying that he broke his pelvis also. Fuck
So far it’s just the scummier tabloids saying it. So, fingers crossed.
I’m intentionally not updating the story because this report comes from the site who posted a fake photo of the Falcon’s ramp where supposedly the incident happened. They won’t get the clicks from me. 🙂
Yeah, it has spread to TMZ and such, but it originated on the scummy site you mention.
I’m curious what that door was supposed to be. A fan-made prop Falcon? The hydraulicy parts resemble the real thing, but most of the details are wrong, and the “door” part is hilarious looking.
I don’t think you guys get it yet. The reason why the curved “door part” looks hilarious is because it is the BACK SIDE of the door you see coming down in this video… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inHf071BLx8 … It’s the UNFILMED side, therefore it is UNFINISHED looking (made of wood and what have you). Have you ever seen photos of the outsides of the interior Falcon hallway set and cockpit? LOTS of plywood involved. There is absolutely nothing unusual about this image, and it matches Starkiller’s Falcon walkthrough (link further above) perfectly. The bottom half of this ramp is unfinished for a reason – because it’s never on screen. The ONLY time you see this version of the ramp used is when they film on the INSIDE HALL looking OUT THE DOOR at just a smidgeon of the side upper ramp walls. Anything showing the bottom portion of ramp was filmed at the FALCON OUTER SHELL PROP, where the complete version of the ramp is constructed. Understand?… Viral, you may have a “source”, but I believe they are simply wrong, and until you can prove otherwise, I will continue to believe this is the real deal.
Fair enough. 🙂
“Viral, you may have a “source”, but I believe they are simply wrong, and until you can prove otherwise, I will continue to believe this is the real deal.”
Like… a tabloid.
Just because a real photo shows up in a crap tabloid, you want to say it’s fake? Where’s your proof? I’ve studied many a set photo to know what I’m looking at.
Glad the pelvis injury turned out to be false. This is good news all things considering. I have a feeling he’ll be back sooner than eight weeks.
Thanks for the input, Dr. Davis.
Was that necessary? I just offered my opinion on the matter.
Necessary? No. Fun? Yepperino.
“Was that necessary? I just offered my opinion on the matter.”
He’s a troll, in case you haven’t noticed. Just ignore.
Well, I hate to say I told ya so …. Nahhhh, I love saying it:
http://i.imgur.com/VRS0Rl0.jpg
By the way, what are other gossip sites “suggesting” it is?
Thanks to Dr. Davis up there ^, I know what the “suggestion” is now.
Chest and pelvis. Check your comment to Nathan,
Right, right: chest & pelvis.
Well, if that’s true, kiss the H-man buh-bye from VII.
A doctor told me that.
Look, obviously I wish Pop-Pop a speedy recovery.
It’s just that after reading the possible plot for VII, I’m super-jazzed now for this movie, Abrams notwithstanding. So I’m venting my frustration at a HUGE setback to a person who’ll never hear my wailing & lamentations: H. Ford, that’s all, OK?
So is the pelvis rumor true? I’m confused.
I think not. The reliable sources didn’t say anything about it and 8 weeks is the regular time for a fracture recovery. I think Han is safe. 🙂
No, no: I’m saying IF it’s true, his being in the movie, IMHO, is severly jeopardized. Obviously I hope it ISN’T true.
Of course, someone can call the hospital pretending to be Calista Flockhart and have the nurse give all of the inside info, like they did with Prince William’s wife.
I’m not buying the pelvis rumor. The ramp photo? Yes. Pelvis rumor? No. If top brass is saying 6-8 weeks, then it should be just the ankle.
Anyone seen the photo of ford taken @ the hospital he’s staying @? Well amusing!! It’s of him, sporting a very obi wan like goatie, holding a sign that says ” Can do the kessel run in 12 parsecs… can’t open a door”
http://fansided.com/2014/06/13/harrison-ford-tweets-funny-picture-set-star-wars-injury-photo/
You mean this?
Wow, that looks just like the other signs that have said a dozen other things. Nice to have him on a feet again in his outdoor hospital rehabilitation. Also impressive that he grew that goatee in one day, since the ‘whole foods’ photo.
Not taken at hospital. Someone photo-shopped new message onto recent photo sign.
This photo is not from the hospital and the text on the sign is photoshoped. Search the blog for Harrison Ford reddit and you’ll see. 😉
Hey, thanks for linking that, I really apprec– oh yeah ….
This comment has been removed by the author.
Have you or anyone else got a link to this photo please?
Or was it just as joke?
Thank you.
It’s photoshoped. The original image was for his Reddit AMA he did months ago.
I’ve heard that he’ll get out of the hospital before his recovery actually finishes. I think the production team can pull an “Empire Strikes Back” and write the actor’s injury into the plot, like how Mark Hamil’s scars were made a part of the story. In any case, they can probably film some non-action scenes with him from the waist-up.
They did that on “Northern Exposure”, too. The great Barry Corbin (you know him as the “Well why don’tcha just unplug the damned thing?” general from “WarGames”) broke his leg during shooting, so they wrote his character, Maurice Minnifield, having the same thing happen. But who’d buy that in VII? They can give Luke Skywalker a robot replacement hand, but they can’t fix Han Solo’s footsie? Uh-uh, that’s not gonna wash, I’m afraid.
We don’t know enough about the production (or, to a lesser extent, the injury) to say much about its impact.
We have no idea how much of the film Ford will be in. It could be 10%, 50%, 80%. There are a ton of actors on board that we already know of, and there will likely be many scenes without Ford, either way. Production could remain quite active during his recovery, even if it slips slightly behind schedule.
If he’s in nearly every scene, obviously, it’s going to be more of a Temple of Doom scenerio where they’ll need rewrites or trickier filming, stunt doubles, etc, with reaction shots and close ups later. None of us want it to go down this way, but Temple turned out well.
I think we only need to worry *if* he has essentially the lead role *and* he is in a really bad state, still, a few months from now. Production delays are expensive, but Disney is investing so much into this, I think they’ll do whatever it takes to get the best movie.
I found this read about Harrison’s Temple-era recovery reassuring: http://www.theraider.net/films/todoom/making_4_instudio.php Sure, he’s older now, but no reason to think he’s not still a fighter.
