That scene of the Stormtroopers is awesome.

looks like a standard scene from the movie. Very UNimaginative.

Agreed. People are overrating scenes with stormtroopers waaay too much. Come on, the story and the characters are what we should judge.

I still can’t believe they came up with a light saber type slingshot. Clearly Rebels is directed towards kids. But it still should be interesting and worth watching.

It’s not a lightsaber slingshot it’s some sort of energy sling shot

Still, for promotion purposes, it’s confusing and could have been better. IMO this looks better than TCW, but for me that’s not really saying too much. Not gonna stop me from watching it, of course.

      A slingshot. (head shake…)

Yes folks, Star Wars now has its on Dennis The (Phantom) Menace.

Obviously they can’t give a kid a gun, that’d be too violent… euhhg. They could probably have done something worse then a slingshot though

Isn’t a “light slingshot” essentially the same thing as a blaster? It seems just as lethal and dangerous.

And if they can’t give the kid a gun, why have a kid in the show in the first place? It’s Star WARS, not Star ARousingGameOfPogs.

It’s difficult for me to regard this as being equally canon to the movies when “Obviously they can’t give a kid a gun, that’d be too violent… “

I wonder how he puts the “shots” into the slingshot if they’re pure energy. It’s like touching a light saber blade.

If i had to guess id say they are only lethal if they impact something

It’s great, that’s for sure, but am I the only one who doesn’t like the color at all? The flashy colors makes it too video game.

The pink Mandelorian seems out of place. I don’t mind her but just change her armor color lol.

The lasts teasers changed my mind. It’s really nice, the Stormtroopers visual, the whole thing. But… I hope they don’t create a Jedi more powerful than Anakin.

I think the “Jedi” is a Jedi-school dropout, so to speak, right? He didn’t quite make it through his training before everything went to hell in a handbasket. He went into hiding and kept his light saber.

i think this looks awesome…really takes me back to when i was a kid dreaming my own adventures in the SW galaxy. i have a Granddaughter and i think the pink Mando armor will appeal to her age group, these are the things that will inspire a new generation of fans, i am all for it! -prymal

Because all girls are attracted to pink, like its part of their genome, right?

Star Wars is timeless the way it was and the girls and women who like it came to like it the way it was so there is nothing that needs to be changed about it to attract a future generation– to do so is just pandering.

I don’t know if I can still be sacrilegious and bring up the EU, but I’ve found a few minor EU characters that resemble Von Sydow really closely. Obviously there’s Pallaeon, but he’s like the spitting image of Ardus Kaine. How we found what Disney is mining?

ON TOPIC: Can’t wait till I can get home and watch the trailers!

To quote Community’s Abed: “coolcoolcool”. The slingshot kind of reminds me of Link from Zelda, and he took out giant spiders with that thing so… I would imagine an energy proficient variation would do maximum damage.

Also, glad that creative is still somewhat geared towards crafting new arms in the Star Wars Universe ala Darth Maul’s double-bladed lightsaber, the white lightsaber in Force Unleashed, Dash Rendar’s recharging blaster in Shadows of the Empire, etc.

All things considered… the show is certainly revving up to be a can’t miss hit, in my opinion. Can’t wait to see the final product : )

I’m a bit disappointed in this preview. It is really making Star Wars seem “young.” The fact that this g-rated stuff is canon and some serious r-rated level EU novels is not is a bit of a letdown.
