Looking much slimmer, still needs to lose a little weight (you can tell in the other pics), but much closer to filming shape.

ok fans… lets all star calm… first, there is always going to be smoking mirrors, rumors, changes to the set, characters, etc…. they love to keep fans going mad crazy…. now as for quality on the movies…. first, the reason why the originals was better than the prequels is because Lucas wanted each chapter to be better than the next…. when he was filming the very first ( episode 4 -release 1977) , he never thought he would make any more so he combined multiple chapters… when the movie was a giant success, he decided to combine the last of his chapters in part 5 and 6… remember, Lucas said that the story ends with luke saving his dad…. now, with the combination of Lucas ideas for a 3rd trilogy, and the famous Thrawn Trilogy by Zahn etc, Lucas went back to make the prequels. The plan was to make it not better than the originals because he wanted each trilogy to be better… he succeded and many fans was bored with the script, etc… which is why someone should have helped him write and direct…. now, after the much hate from fans over the prequels, Lucas decided to forget making a 3rd trilogy and eventually sold it to a group who wanted and had the passion and love to continue the saga…. also Lucas was drained from all of it anyway… mine as well make a big buck and have fun while he still can…. now, today, a new family of movie makers that are very expensive to get, and has the heart to make this, will make the last trilogy… with all the power players in this from producers, writrs, and directer, this movie will not fail… they know tradition that original fans want, they know what the prequel generation wants, and what new surprises they will have for all of us…. but right now, they will be playing smoking mirrors with everyone until something major really leaks, or they decide to tell us all… which would ruin the other surprises… but my point iz, stay calm…. we got until dec 2016 to have lots of time to yak…. and yes, Leia is in part 7 for the doubters… the producers are not stupid.. they are Star wars fans just like us and thats why they making this… they know what we fans want…..and im sure when it plays all out, it will be a combination of everything we want ,and new things that will surprise us and bring back the old feeling of what Star Wars truly is… the greatest film ever…

To be honest I’d rather have her looking pudgy than slim. She’s only 5″1 and with all the medication she’s on for her bipolar it’s near sight impossible to loose weight. I was not comparing her in her current condition or any of her previous conditions to being similar to a Hutt but that she could have been encouraged to gain weight to that point. Only Mark should need to loose weight. He’s a jedi so his build kind of matters. Carrie can look any way she wants to. You don’t need to look slim to shout “why you stuck up half witted scruffy looking nerfherder”. It would be even better if she was a bit larger to be honest. People clinging onto the hope of the cast and characters being the exact same way as in 1977 just make me laugh.
It’s just the huge tits that get in the way but I guess they will just tape them back like they did in the original trilogy.

For cryin’ out loud, people… she looks fine! Whatever part may be written for Leia in the new movie, it’s not for a scantily-clad, 20-something wank-fantasy gal. It’s for an older woman who has probably been a galactic political leader for 30 years or so. Who cares if she’s a bit heavier than she once was? That’s just how life goes.
I hope she’s in the movie, and if she is she’ll look perfect for the role of a 50-60 year old Leia Organa. The idea that she would be replaced in the role for failing some sort of pre-production weigh-in is absolutely ludicrous.

Definitely looking better. The scarf, handbag, and black dress are hiding some of the extra baggage but thank god she’s no longer in a position to have to try out for a role as one of the Hutts. I suppose it would even be acceptable for the older Leia to be a little pudgy especially when you consider the way all the fat people keep defending her fatness. Hopefully Mark Hamill is doing the same except in his case he will need to lose all of his fat in order to be a Jedi. Otherwise, “..not yet, one thing remains…” fat, you must confront fat, then only then, a Jedi will you be!
They probably won’t be filming her belly in the movie anyway. I guess the camera will shoot mostly above waist or the costume she wears will hide anything, maybe they will squeeze her into a corset and use a body double for rear shots.
Yeah, that’s a good idea. And, if her boobs are still decent, the corset could really work. Definitely a body double for the rear though, but hey, if she manages to drop all of the fat before filming, then they can show the real Leia backside.

I’m commenting this from some public place because I don’t want to get caught by any chance, but I got some information for you. I’ve been working on new Star Wars 7 movie (If working means, being around at Lucasarts) so I know some information. Now please, be aware that things are changing a lot (like the script change or castings that they changed 2 weeks back)
First thing is, The Big 4 is returning (Luke, Han, Leia and Lando), but we won’t see much Lando in Episode VII (there is a possibility that his role will be bigger in Episode VIII) second thing is that Han and Leia will have daughter and son, and Lando will have daughter too. Luke won’t have family so far, and I don’t know whether he will have one. Also, they will revisit 2 planets from previous movies.. it will be Tatooine and Sith homeworld (before you ask, yes.. there will be small connection between the Clone Wars episode with Yoda and Episode VII)
and last but not least, there are 2 final titles considered, (believe me or not, there were around 90 titles last week, and 200 in January) which are “Republic In Chaos” and “The Dark Path”.. there should be official statements soon. Now again, this is what I gathered for the past week. I know how hard it is for all of you. This is all I know, thanks

I would imagine the writers and JJA would have looked at how the OT stars are ageing before committing them into the story. No point asking them to try and achieve the impossible and also their parts will reflect the age of their characters which is why Luke needs to be purely a grand mentor and Leia needs to be a statesperson as that is where their story arcs were moving towards.
This will all be about the next generation of 20 somethings as it should be

Another point to think about- off screen yes, Carrie Fischer IS very opinionated, but on screen she says her lines exactly as directed . Does everyone believe that she is going to take direction of the film/films away from JJ, the writers , the other actors , George, and Disney….no.
