Star Wars: Episode 7 to be Filmed at Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios in the UK.

Although it was not officially confirmed few months ago it was reported that Episode 7 will be filmed at Pinewood Studios in the UK. Now a second UK location has been revealed this time by an unexpected source – Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe...

Huffington Post had interviewed the young star while he was promoting his latest movie “Kill Your Darlings”. At one point Daniel was asked about Star Wars (he had never watched Star Wars) and he shared something very interesting:

You have to catch up before “Episode VII” comes out.
I know! I know I do. I have to catch up before that because fucking all of my friends are working on the new one. Because “Star Wars” is filming in Leavesden. There was at least one guy, Digby Milner, who worked on all the “Potters” who had also worked on “Star Wars,” the originals. And he will be working on new “Star Wars” at Leavesden as well. And it is kind of amazing because “Star Wars,” the originals, were made in England as well. So there’s a lot of that crew who we’ll basically have a huge amount of sons and daughters of the original crew who are now on the new “Star Wars” movie.

Leavesden is a 200-acre studio complex in south east England. It is a major film and media complex owned by Warner Bros.. The studios and backlot were all repurposed from the site’s original use as a Rolls-Royce factory. It is situated in south west Hertfordshire approximately 18 miles (29 km) northwest of central London, in Watford.

Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, is one of only a few places in the U.K. where large scale productions can be made. The studios contain approximately 500,000 sq ft (50,000 m2) of flexible space which includes stage space, one of the largest filtered and heated stage-based water tanks in Europe, production office space and support buildings, along with an extensive 80-acre (320,000 m2) backlot which offers a 180 degree uninterrupted horizon, favourable for exterior sets.

Other famous productions filmed there (except the Harry Potter franchise and The Phantom Menace) are Golden Eye, Sleepy Hollow, The Dark Knight, Inception and the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire and Jupiter Ascending.

    DO NOT screw this up!

Man I hope they don’t screw it up…

It’s like in elections: The fact that the candidates come from families that traditionally have had their members in governing positions throughout their history DOES NOT mean that the new guys are the people for the job….

Sounds good I guess. None of this particular story really excites me but always nice to get updates.

LOL too funny, I was thinking the same thing. I don’t see how using foul language assisted his answer …

Radcliffe, you little fuck. An icon of fandom who has never seen a Star Wars movie does not deserve to be an icon. Study up, you little bastard. I hope to God that this is not hinting at his possible involvement in episode VII.

the power of the force tells me this will be the greatest movie ever…. Kathleen Kennedy + Michael Ardnt + JJ Abrams + Lawrence Kasdan + John Willaims = ? ……. i will tell you…. a female excecutive producer with every movie she been part of has turned to gold….. a writer who has won awards and is picking at Lucas mind to get it out right….. a directer who made Star Trek big again and even said he grew up loving Star Wars more….. a producer and writer of the Empire Strikes back is involved….. and the main music artist that has done all Star Wars saga so far…… with all that, there is no way they ruin this movie….. these people are from the generation of the originals and know the real connection…. part 7 using real film, real story, real effects, and yes expensive sets, but thats the best way to do it……. this will be like the originals with better special effects….. be sure to order extra pop corn , drinks, and candy….. this will be an out of sight movie….. may the force be with us all.. : )
